This is a favorite genre and this book did not disappoint I am very much looking forward to reading volume 2. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book

Really great beginning and cliffhanger leaving me wanting more. The art style is reminiscent of some older mangas while still holding up to the crispness of newer mangas. I would classify this as a slice-of-life mange.

As if being a teenager or high school wasn't hard enough why not add a love quadrangle.
Drama, bullying and angst all tied up in one emotional beginning to a series I'm sure will tear us apart and put us back together again before its all over.

I loved the art and story line. The emotion, and sweet moments.

UGH! But that cliffhanger is ugh!!!

I need the next volume now!

Adorable high school drama.
Tomas' attraction to Tai-Chan is obvious with every panel they're in together.
Things are about get complicated.

I would say the Viz's habit of putting a watermark on every page is really annoying. Reviews, and by association reviewers, help sell books. The watermark affects the ability to clearly see the artwork and declares a profound lack of trust in the reviewer.

I really liked this Manga which is basically about a love triangle between two guys and a girl. Tachi Ichinose always sees this girl Futaba Kuze around at school and this year she is in the same class. One day he finds out that she has a crush on one of his friends, Toma Mita. Toma Mita is one of those super popular high school athletes that everyone loves. Futuba is super awkward so Tachi volunteers to help her try to express her feelings to Toma with interesting results.
The artwork is super cute and I always love reading Japanese Manga as it always reminds me of living in Japan. I'm excited to read the next volume in this Manga to see what happens.

This is so, so, so adorable. The art is amazing to look at, and I'm such a big fan of the characters so far. I love the idea of a non-traditional love triangle, and this one is definitely not traditional. All the characters seem to be in a slightly different art style, too, which in my opinion enhances the rest of the story around it; they're all supposed to be different, and come from different groups, so they all look different. It's subtle, but it gets the message across. I'm really, really excited to see where this goes, though, and am definitely gonna be picking up the rest of the volumes as they come out.

The first volume of Blue Flag offers a thoughtful and intriguing look at youth and love. With an interesting collection of characters and some hints at deeper issues to be explored later, this is certainly a manga to keep an eye on.

This manga had cute artwork and a cute story. This had quite a few characters and love interests I almost needed a chart drawn on who liked who. It was interesting, but I don't know if I'm interested enough to continue.

3.5 Stars ( I received an e-arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review)

I do want to preface this review with saying that I only got through 56% on the book as for some reason my e-book file suddenly became unlicensed. I was struggling in the beginning as I was getting back into reading manga, and sometimes stories can have a lot of cringe. I may purchase the first volume on kindle in the future. Basically what I could grasp is everyone has a crush on everyone.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. It has been a little bit since I have read any manga, but I enjoy a good love story. This is about four people who have feeling for someone. There is a lot of confessions, crushes, and drama and this is only the first volume of this story. I love the writing and the illustrations that help bring the story even more to life. I don't want to give too much way since this is worth the read. There is friends in love with friends, secret crushes, asking for help with confessions and so much more. I can't wait for the next volume to be in my hands.

I really liked this book until I got to the last few pages. Then I loved it! Highly recommend. I cannot wait until the next one!

4.9

This manga was cute and full of drama that you would find in a typical high school setting. This was such a good read and I can't for vol. 2 to come out. I want more of Kuze, Ichinose, Itachi, and Toma story. These four are relatable to a current love story that could potentially happen in high school.

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Despite being friends with Toma Mila, the most popular boy in their grade, Taichi Ichinose always feels on the outside of his class, not quite fitting in. Futaba Kuze is also a bit of an outcast in their grade, clumsy and shy. One day, Futaba confesses to Taichi that she has a crush on Toma and asks for his help getting Toma to like her. As Toma gets to know Futaba better while helping her, he begins to realize that he has a crush on her.

I loved this comic! This was such a cute story. It did a fantastic job of setting up for the next volume of Blue Flag, which I can't wait to read!

I really had a hard time reading this manga. I found the narrative slow and confusing. It was unable to keep my attention and I found myself thinking of other things to read.

ARC was given by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Blue Flag, I really like some of these manga books and I really enjoyed this one. The love story is really interesting and it is easy to become invested in each character. Beautiful and stunning. Blue Flag is the kind of manga you will read over and over. The love story was different and I can not wait for the second volume!

Thank you once again, NetGalley for this one.

Blue Flag didn’t read like the standard love triangle you see in dramas where one side is always looking at someone else. No, this one is more complicated. Taichi and Futaba, two awkward teens, team up to help one win the affections of Touma, Taichi’s childhood friend and popular kid. Taichi knows exactly what Touma wants and, after some convincing, tries to help Futaba. However, the author hints that Taichi and Touma’s relationship isn’t just childhood friends either.

KAITO weaves confusion, anxiety, denial, and fear in a high school setting so well. Friendships can start and break down. Misunderstandings happen. Frustrations and stress are ensured even without tests and homework. And, when you put your friends’ feelings before your own, you break down a little bit more every day. This feeling is even worse in high school because you feel like you are on your own and that everyone will judge you for even having feelings in the first place – a burden the author reflects.

This manga felt so real. I will continue to read this series and encourage others check it out especially if they like manga/graphic novels that include romance, drama, and aren’t afraid of LGBTQ themes. Oh, I can’t wait for the second volume!

Blue Flag by Kaito
Publisher: VIZ Media
Ages: Older Teens
Release Date: 21 April 2020

Taichi Ichinose, Toma Mita (his childhood friend & star athlete), and Futaba Kuze (a shy girl he inexplicably cannot stand) are all in the same homeroom as they begin year 3 of high school. Futaba opens to Taichi that she has a crush on Toma and Taichi agrees to help her. The problem-Toma has a crush on someone else.

With a love quadrangle, this story will have teens amused. There's some GLBT+ happening and it is AMAZING! This book is just charming. And it has a nice slow build to the final pages.

This is definitely making its way to my library's shelves.

Argggggg. I need the next volume! This sounded like a super cute manga and figured I'd give it a try and now I want to know whats next. It was so easy to fall into this world getting to know. The main point of the book can be overdone but if done right it doesn't matter and I read a book recently with the same kinda idea going on but this felt so different and unique and it was overall fun to read. Excuse me while I cut off this review to see if I can get ahold of the next one!
