I love the Women's Murder Club series so was super excited to read the latest installment! It's rare to have a group of such strong, successful female characters and I love reading about them trying to balance family & friendships whilst kicking ass at work!
I didn't want to put this book down. The chapters are short and full of action, meaning it's easy to fly through the story. I don't want to give anything away so I won't say much about the plot other than it's another excellent, fast-paced thriller! I really liked the way the professional dynamic between crime reporter Cindy and Sgt Lyndsey Boxer was explored in this book.
For those that haven't read any others in the series (I can't recommend enough that you should read these!) the book still works as a stand alone thriller and is perfect for anyone that enjoys a gripping twisty crime novel

This is my first novel by bestseller author James Patterson, which really works as a self-contained story - just as well as it is the 20th instalment in a series!

20th Victim sees the return of the Women’s Murder Club and I have to say I was completely and thoroughly hooked right from the start, even though have yet to read any of the other books in the series. I loved the characters in this novel - not only the women that are part of the club, who are Lindsay Boxer (Homicide Detective) Claire Washburn (Chief Medical Examiner) Yuki Castellano (Lawyer) & Cindy Thomas (Journalist), but the authentic male characters, too.

In this book, Lindsay's investigative skills are required when a series of shootings occur in LA, Chicago and San Francisco. Lindsay must ascertain the underlying motives behind the killings. Are they the work of serial killer; is it vigilantism; or is something else motivating the killer(s)? As the list of hapless victims expands, fear and fascination with this shocking spree provoke debate across the country.

James Patterson's (written with Maxine Paetro) latest novel follows a very intriguing, multi-layered, though easy to read story, and I was gripped by the perfect plotting and pacing. James Patterson's writing-style is impressive and noteworthy and evidently the author is a gifted storyteller who can provide readers with thrills, sophistication and a story packed with substance. I like the way the story evolved and there is a good amount of personal detail relating to the ladies outside of work in there, too.

I have been inspired to read more from this impressive series. A very highly recommended five star read that will be of interest to many readers.

This book is, as ever, well written but I have dropped a star because they are becoming very formulaic and the way the female characters are written about is sometimes unrealistic and not relatable.

If you like crime fiction it’s a good holiday read.

Another really good book in this series. Fast paced with plenty of action and love and friendship as always. This is a compelling read which I read in one sitting and really enjoyed.

When you pick up a James Patterson book you know you’re going to get a fast paced story with so many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the 20th book in the women’s murder club series and it’s just as good as the first book. There’s a shooter on the loose and Lindsay is tasked with finding him, she as always turns to the 3 other women in the club to help her figure out the clues, but one of their own, journalist Cindy has been contacted by someone claiming to be the shooter, can they all work together to find out who is responsible roger anymore people die? Well you’ll need to read it to find out.

I have read and loved all of the previous Women’s Murder Club book and can honestly say this one is no different. If you haven’t read any of the previous books then this can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend you read the whole series.

Although the 20th book in the series this is just as good as all 19 previous books and they never get boring. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked and I love the short chapters. If you’ve read the previous books you will know how good this series is and if not then this is one series you won’t get bored of.

Each of these riveting instalments can be read as a standalone without any issues whatsoever but this is a series you will end up addicted to like many readers. There is a madman on the loose and police officer Lindsay Boxer is the one who has to investigate. The shooters’ aim is as fearsomely precise as their target selection so it is clear he knows what he's doing and may be ex-military. The killer decides to contact local reporter Cindy who then becomes completely embroiled in the whole situation. The women face the most intense, high-octane confrontation of their lives and their toughest challenge to date. Can they identify and catch this serial killer before he strikes again and another ”innocent” life is lost.

There's a reason why James Patterson's books are so popular and successful; they are accessible to all and offer high drama, fast pacy plots, engaging characters, twists and turns, and are fiendishly good fun. The plot is easy to follow and the ideal entertainment for crime connoisseurs. You simply know what you're getting from before you even touch it. This one is no exception and despite it being the twentieth book the series shows no signs of flagging or losing stream. The short, snappy chapters are his trademark and work superbly to allow for that just one more mentality to take root. One thing you can count on going into a hp books is that you're guaranteed a taut well-told riveting twisty tale and a rollicking good read.

I don't know how he does it but he constantly blind side's you with new twists, turns and red herrings and something notable happens in every single chapter and is a cracking read that easily takes over your mind and has you feverishly flipping the pages. His books don't exactly score highly on the scale of believability but if you can just let it go then you are treated to a raucously good read. It's compulsive and I must admit reading right through the night as all of the hints had me desperate to find out what actually happened. His casual writing style and short, snappy chapters are second to none and he knows how to get you hook, line and sinker within a few pages. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Century for an ARC.

It was interesting to see how all the women in the novel (members of the Women's Murder Club) all managed to work on the same case. A mix of their professional and personal lives were interwoven into the plot. Not a great plot but an easy to read book.

I was really pleased to see this get back to the original idea where you follow the women in their different professions although Lindsay is obviously still the main character.

When I found out the motive for the killings I was torn as to whether I wanted the killer caught. It does make you think.

As usual I loved the fast pace and the short chapters.

Have been a fan since the series began and I think this one is really good.

Another fab JP read, the woman's murder club is a favorite set of books of mine and I love reading each and everyone, again this didn't disappoint, hooked from beginning to end

This was an excellent thriller that really made me think. Impressive character development along with a fascinating storyline make this book a success.

loved getting back into this series...4 women who come from different profession who have managed to work out a friendship that doesnt clash with their work ethics...though they are known to help each other when its needed...

this one is about a sniper taking out drug dealers,though at first glance its high profile people that werent known to dealing in drugs

and as the shots are fired some are long distance which hints at a trained killer...so can our famous 4 work their magic but with health issues and work commitments getting in the way can they sort out their issues before more people are killed....

its an easy read but enjoyable and i look forward to the next in the series

The cover of this book is simple but stands out enough to make you wanna pick it up.
I have only read a few of James Patterson books ( all I have loved so far )
But this is my first women's murder series book. You can read as a series or stand alone.
After reading this book I am definitely reading all the woman's series books, as I really liked this one.
I loved James writing and the plot line and the characters definitely recommend reading.

This is the latest in the women’s club and it was comforting to already know the characters. Although it is not necessary to have read any of the previous books with this group it will help despite the characters being so well described. It was an easy read but not an absorbing story. It has been well written and the conclusion brings a sound ending.. not a book that I can give great recommendations for.

What to say, there's lots going on... multiple murders occurring simultaneously in different locations; a personal health battle for one of the ladies; In addition Lindsay's husband Joe is asked for help from a friend suffering a personal loss.

The Women's murder club, whilst it's part of a series, if you've not read others this will not effect your reading of this novel, it could easily be read as a stand-alone book.

Overall a great read, lots to take in/piece together, with keep you on your toes.

This is the twentieth book in the Women’s murder club series and is just as good as the previous nineteen. The main focus in this novel is police officer Lindsay Boxer dealing with a precision shooter who is killing people across cities. The killer then contacts reporter Cindy who tries to unravel the purpose of the killings.
I like these novels as they are always a good balance between their professional and personal lives. The story is great and I like how all four members of the murder club end up involved in different aspects of this case.

Another great addition to the Ladies Murder Club series which like the previous 19 is an excellent read. In this book we find Claire having to undergo surgery and Cindy not speaking to Lindsay as she won’t give information for her story. All of this occurring when Lindsay is trying to find out who is behind a series of murders occurring against drug dealers while Joe her husband is helping his childhood friend with the death of his father.
Plenty of storyline making this great reading yet again.

I really enjoy the stories of the Woman’s Murder Club, it was great to read what Lyndsey and her friends are up to. I regret that I now find the stories a bit same. That did not take from the enjoyment, but I think they need to change the story lines once in a while.

I must admit to have become slightly bored with the formula that goes along with a James Patterson novel.
I've been a fan for many years, but, it's the Women's Murder Club that maintains an element of interest for me. This follows the usual process, but, does maintain interest as you again engage with the key players and their private lives and ups and downs therein.

As usual, it's a fast paced, easy read. This time around a series of shootings in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago and it's up to Lindsay Boxer to ascertain the motives behind the killings. She does so whilst juggling her family and a friend's difficult news.

It's well written with a satisfactory conclusion. These books are a tad 'production line' for me, but, something pulls me in every time, so, it's obviously a successful formula.
