It started out okay and then got rather strange. I ended up skimming but did not read in detail so feel I would not give the book its full due. I found it "ok" but not what I was expecting or what I wanted to read at this moment in time. Thank you for the opportunity. (DNF)
When a wild mustang is shot in Montana, renowned horse whisperer and telepath, Emma Horserider, is called in to calm the herd and find out what happened. Once on scene she is almost killed by a bullet-spewing drone, and calls her black ops brother for back-up. Emma's help roars into her life covered in tattoos and riding a Harley. Remote viewer Bronco Winchester takes the assignment because he is ordered to, but he wonders what type of assistance, his boss's sister needs. That is until he sees Emma, a valiant Warrior Woman proud of her Crow heritage.
This was a pretty good read. The action starts right from the beginning, as well as Emma’s full character. Bronco’s character intro is a bit funnier. Right from the beginning these two had chemistry. I liked following them right from the beginning as they had to stop the crimes being committed. I had a few little issues with some things in the book, like maybe a better explanation of the powers the people in this world have for those of us who hadn’t read this author before, but they didn’t deter from me enjoying the story. I recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
The story starts out with an attack on mustang on a farm. Bronco with a wild cat as his sidekick and
It was confusing as I felt we were just thrown in. Standing six feet tall and from the crow tribe Emma is a horse whisper. She felt a lot like a teenage having the hot
Probably one of the first romance mystery thriller i read. With the limited scope of how thriller are written I’m having a hard time digesting the character and the storyline.
The positive side As the story progress you learn more about the characters. Their past and what haunts them. I really want to like it and probably finish it but I tried picking it up three time now and each time I have a hard time picking it up again. Solid characters and great suspense it probably not something I can easily digest. 4/5 though I hope to be able to have a day where I can pick it up and finish it.
3.0-3.5 stars
I honestly didn't know what to expect with Legacy of Evil, the premise of a horse whisperer, a black-ops partner with tattoos and rides a Harley, plus the prospect of a previously published book possibly not getting its due... well, I was intrigued.
I enjoyed the story even though I have a hesitation to read too many stories that hit this close to home. Let's just say I know someone that does things very similar to what this book is written about (on the good side) and I worry for him constantly.
I absolutely loved the incorporation of the Native American Crow culture, the glimpse into this "tribe", and the discussion of more metaphysical aspects embraced. Further, I loved the talk of two-spirited peoples amongst the Native American cultures, and I just wanted to take Steph home with me. She was fabulous!
In light of the recent over-hyper hysterical fear-mongering of late (ref Coronavirus 2019-20 BS), I literally have no chill about one aspect of this book. The fact that a fictional self-proclaimed non-healthcare person and who previously eschewed all previous (lineage-based) medicine woman traits walks into a "facility" and then starts spouting off Measles symptoms (which started off factual) like a Nurse or MD and THEN starts saying that if the mother she was talking to loved her children she wouldn't want them to die b/c brain damage was imminent and therefore should help her break all the rules... I SEE RED. Measles symptoms are fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes followed by a rash. This is the natural sequella. MOST survive. (my mother had both measles and mumps and was FINE). Yes, every 1 in 1000 cases acute encephalitis may occur... 1 in a 1000. NOT EVERY SINGLE CASE and definitely not among the maybe the 100(?) kids. To threaten a mother that her children will definitely die... it's just cruel and unusual especially since they were all dealing with such a hostile and abusive atmosphere. To threaten a mother that her children will definitely die... it's just cruel and unusual. And NOT factual (check the damn CDC website). Sorry, again, I have zero chill right now.</spoiler> The scene would have been just fine if she said, "Yep! Measles! We must quarantine" PERIOD. The. End.
I enjoyed this book. I would like to find the previous book in the series and read that. If there are more to come (PLEASE write a book about Steph!) I would be eager to read more by this author!
*ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.*
Legacy of Evil is a fun and fast read with a bit of romance, mystery, the super natural, heroes, and heroine’s all wrapped in one book. Even though the book is the second in the series by Sharon Buchbinder it was very is to follow along and enjoy the story. The main characters( Emma and Bronco) are strong and lovable. And I loved how they both were hero’s and saved each other.
Thank you Sharon Buchbinder and Netgalley for the ARC.
would like to thank netgalley and the pubisher for letting me read this book

not a bad storyline...was hoping for a bit more of there powers to be this story, would have liked more but on the whole not a bad storyline...kept me entertained
I liked this mix of romance, paranormal and suspence. It kept me hooked till the end and made me root for the characters.
The writer is a talented storyteller and I loved the well crafted plot that flows and the fleshed out characters.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
This was my first book from this very talented author and I loved it so much that I went and bought the first book in the series You don't need to because each book is a stand alone but why wouldn't you when t he writing is so good. These are at their base romantic suspense books but they have a paranormal element in this case it is Emma's telepathic abilities and Bronco remote viewing abilities Throw in Ne o Nazi's a native american medicine woman and her culture and you have a book that keeps you engaged until the very last page
Emma is a horse whisperer her telepathic abilities help with this and when a mustang is shot and killed she is called in to talk to the rest of the herd to get answers. The only problem someone doesn't want those answers found and she is attacked by a militarised drone. Knowing she needs help she contact her brother who works for a black op comapny before she knows it her help arrives in the shape of Brandon “Bronco” Winchester. Soon they are posing as a married couple to try to get the bottom of the hate crimes that are happening but what will happen when pretend starts to feel oh so real.
