I am a big fan of this author. This story is told from three points of view. The story of the three friends unfolds piece by piece and builds up to a great ending.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I love this author as you know when you pick up one of her books you're in for a cracking read! And this is no exception.

I was hooked from the first page and I couldn't read it quickly enough. Great plot that keeps you guessing til the end.

Can't recommend this highly enough and I'm already looking forward to her next book.

This is a story of 3 women , who have been friends for many years, Something happens to each of them. Neither one tells the other one what is going on and they suspect each other. How they handle things is not right since they are such close friends, they should have confided in each other.
I love this author's books so when I was asked to review it, I said yes please. The chapters alternate between the 3 women's POV of what is going on with them. I thoroughly enjoyed how it flowed into each chapter. I was starting to figure out what was going on before I got to the end.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the review.

Tia, Kelly, and Fiona are each experiencing strange things, like false rumors being spread about them, a potentially devastating tax audit, and incriminating photos. Each is afraid to confide in anyone else, so the three friends don't realize they could be a target of the same person. Did any of the women do what they're being accused of and do their current troubles have anything to do with a horrible event from the past?

This is a fast-paced psychological thriller. I really enjoyed this authors book "The Other Daughter". I didn't like this one quite as much. It's told from alternating points of view which helps the book move quickly, but it took a while for me to connect with the characters and become fully engaged in the story. There are also some very unpleasant characters in the story and it was hard to read about the things they did. Some of the decisions the friends make don't seem realistic, but I did like each of the three women. The last part of the book really picks up and I really enjoyed the final showdown. The final chapter, set a few months in the chapter is well-done and keeps you involved in the story more that a typical epilogue would. Although not my favorite by the author, I still liked the book and think it would appeal to fans of Shari Lapena.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Shalini Boland for the opportunity to read and review her latest thriller - another great read! 4.5 stars for a twisty book that left you guessing about all the secrets.

Tia, Fiona, and Kelly have been friends since they were younger. Suddenly, rumors seem to be swirling about each of them that leave them questioning themselves and each other. Plus each of the friends is keeping a secret - one that they can't reveal to anyone.

Told in alternating chapters from each of the friends, we see how these anonymous threats are destroying their carefully-crafted worlds.

Quick read, hard to put down - a great book to escape into!

Whatever is happening in life ( and surely none of us imagined this! ) you can guarantee that a new book by this author ( the 10th I have read )will be able to take your mind off it and immerse you in a good, solid, exciting, thrilling read

It didnt disappoint

The book follows 3 friends and their perfect ( and not so perfect! ) lives and what happens when someone in their community decides to take revenge for something they perceive the 3 lied about many years ago

Tia, Fiona and Kelly’s life start to unravel and they have no idea why......... or what is to come.....and as rumours fly, letters and texts are received and a seemingly innocent and in danger girl asks for help it all ends up in one big, nasty showdown where they literally need to fight to stay alive

All the elements are in perfect measure to make this a real psychological thrill, I liked most of the characters except the ones you weren’t meant to like and the story kept me engaged and flicking the kindle to find out what happened next

The ending was tense and scary and made me sit up as we got to the crux of the matter and the truth was outed

Honestly I cant be fairer than to say this author delivers every single time

"Then, just like that - as her eyes streamed and her lung squeezed - she realised he was never going to get out and talk to her. Not ever again. Because her screw-up of a husband was stone-cold dead. And through the shock and the horror, a new kind of anger began to grow."

I liked this book but I didn't love it. I liked how the author conveyed each of the woman in the story and how the author put enough details in the story that I could picture the characters and the town vividly in my head as everything unfolded. I just didn't start to really get interested in the story until I was halfway through it.

The book is told in different points of view between a group of 3 women, that have been best friends since they were young and have grown up together. Each woman is dealing with a problem involving an unknown person who seems to be bent on revenge and ruining each woman's life. One woman get a surprise visit from tax agents at her work who are there for a tax audit. Another gets an envelope in the mail containing pictures of her and a man that isn't her husband, kissing and having sex. And the last woman comes across a young woman who wants and needs her help to get away from her supposedly abusive husband. Yet there seems to be something very sinister going on that connects all three woman together.

I love the concept of this book and was very interested in the book by its description but I felt like the book wasn't cohesive and the chapters didn't mesh together, in my opinion.

Even though I didn't love the book doesn't mean this book could be five stars for someone else. If you like books that involve secrets between friends and that are told through different points of view, then this may be the book for you.

There are a couple of triggers in this book involving sexual misconduct between a teacher and student plus hints of domestic violence.

One Of Us Is Lying by Shalini Boland:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars.

Firstly, I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I became so involved with these characters. I loved following the three main gals through their ups and downs. This novel constantly kept me guessing and peeking around the corner (or the next chapter!)

I was reminded of Liane Moriarty in the writing style and how very enthralled I became in the story as a reader. Fiona’s husband actually made me sick to my stomach; I was shocked at how perfectly the relationship between her and her husband was portrayed.

That is just one small aspect of the story, but it really impacted me. If you’re looking for a quick read, a wonderful psychological thriller, and a story that’ll keep you guessing until the last page, pick up this book!

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘One Of Us Is Lying’ by Shalini Boland in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is the story of three women who’s been friends since attending school in Ashridge Falls, Tia who’s having rumours circulated that she murdered a man, Fiona who has her own interior design company and is shocked when two inspectors arrive to do a tax audit, and widowed Kelly whose two sons have been told their mother’s been seen kissing a teacher. Who could be spreading rumours that are blatantly untrue, and why?

‘One Of Us Is Lying’ is a gripping and intriguing psychological thriller that has drama and suspense, believable characters, twists and turns and a compelling plot. This is the eighth novel I’ve read by Shalini Boland and I’m delighted each time there’s a new one as I know I’m going to enjoy it. This latest thriller doesn’t disappoint as it’s tense, exciting and a thoroughly enjoyable read that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I could not put this down!
Told from the perspective of each of the women in a circle of friends, they each feel the pressure of their life falling apart. When they are each brought to face their demon, they realize that they are not all who they claim to be.
A thriller that has you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book! Highly recommended!

This is my fifth book I have read by Shalini Boland and I love her books so I was so happy to get an ARC of her latest book. If you read the blurb, then you know it revolves around three women, Tia, Fiona and Kelly who have been friends from high school and live in the same town. You know something happened to one of them in high school but not who it was. The book has many twists and turns with each of them being tormented with photos, and other threats to their life. The reveal comes about 80% into the book but the end is terrific. I do not want to go any further with my review because I do not want to give away spoilers. I received this ARC from net galley and the publisher for this ARC for an honest review. Thank you net galley and if you are a fan of twisty psychological thrillers, than this is a must read.

Another gripping page-turner from one of the queens of psychological thrillers!

Told in three POV’s, this story follows Tia, Kelly and Fiona. Friends since childhood they still all live close by in the picturesque town of Ashridge Falls.

Tia lives with her husband Ed and their two children; all is well with life until a rumour starts up about her at her daughters’ school. Whilst trying to understand who would say such cruel things, something then arrives in the post that Tia will not want anyone else to see!

Kelly is a widowed mother of two. Mourning the loss of her husband, she tries her best to be a good mum to her kids and she volunteers in a shop to keep herself busy. Bizarrely a rumour also begins about Kelly at the school. She doesn’t have the time to think too much about it as she ends up helping a woman in distress, who really needs her help.

Fiona lives with her husband Nathan, both career type people they live in their posh lakeside apartment. Money seems to be no object and they seem quite the power couple. Things aren’t always quite as they seem though, and nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors! Fiona is at work one day when she gets a couple of unexpected visitors, why are they here and who sent them?

Three close friends with a past they’ve tried to forget, all have strange things happening to them but suddenly don’t seem to feel they can confide in each other and each one struggles to get to the bottom of what is going on.

This is another great book by Shalini Boland. I love how easy it is to read her books. They are fast-paced so no time to get bored or lose interest. This story is easy to follow, and the chapters flit perfectly between the three ladies. I love the description used as I can clearly imagine the setting and the characters in my head whilst reading.

I did guess the outcome of this story, but it doesn’t mean I enjoyed it any less. It just shows that I am clearly a good detective! Less of a twisty thriller than Shalini’s previous books, but that’s ok, who says that all psychological thrillers must be filled with twists?

A well written, hard to put down kind of read!

Thank you to Shalini Boland, Bookouture & NetGalley for my ARC of this book.

What a fantastic read as all books from this author are, just my 'cup of tea' I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop reading.

This book is so well written with excellent characters which I could relate too and all-in-all it is a brilliantly addictive page turner which I can thoroughly recommend. I will be recommending this to my many Facebook Book Groups.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this excellent book.

Tia is walking home with her children, along the lakeside of their quiet, safe town, when she realises something is wrong with her five-year-old daughter, Rosie. She seems troubled, not at all her usual happy self. But when Tia finally coaxes Rosie to open up, she wishes she hadn’t. Because her sweet daughter asks a question Tia never thought she’d hear. ‘Why did you kill someone?’ Tia knows how rumours spread around her small town. She just can’t understand who would have shared such a horrible story. Or why. It can’t have anything to do with what happened. Only her two best friends really remember that. Tia thought she could trust Fiona and Kelly with her life. They’ve been through so much together. But when she’s sent photos of herself that could tear her whole world apart, she starts to wonder. Someone is determined to punish her. But who? And will her friends stand by her, or will the past destroy all of their lives?

Oh my goodness I cannot stress enough you need to stick with this! The beginning is confusing, slow and very easy to give up on but persevere. Boland leaps right into the plot without explaining anything much or providing background but after a while the context becomes clear, the plot makes a whole lot more sense and suddenly I realised I was addicted and engrossed to reading this.

This focuses on Tia, Kelly and Fiona, we have chapters from all their perspectives and they all have their own plot thread with their own mystery. Just going to put it out there, Kelly's is extremely weird and not very believable but the other two are strong. Together, it makes for a gripping read as the three struggle separately. I enjoyed how Boland ensures they have their individual plots but overlaps the plots as well and it was entertaining to see how they eventually intertwine. Whilst I am on the characters, they are very likable and realistic, it is clear they have a strong friendship and I enjoyed reading about them.

'One of Us Is Lying' is extremely intense when it gets going and although the twist is a little obvious, I did not mind as it is worthy of the plot. Stick with this, do not give up with the slow beginning as it transforms into an addictive, gripping read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance copy.
