This book started out really strong! Each of the three main characters hook you with something going on in their lives. It took me a little to get all the characters/parts straight, but once I did it I was set. Tia’s daughter was at school and two boys called her mom a murderer. She decides it’s just kids being mean, but she has a past. Kelly’s son is still dealing with the loss of his father, but she recently took in a stranger who is running from someone and needs help. Fiona has a surprise tax audit on her interior design company, and is worried her secret will come out.

They are best friends, but their problems are seemingly unrelated. Their lives are interwoven through their friendships. There are rumors, blackmailing, and strangers showing up that create drama in the characters lives.

I was a little unexcited about the end. Without giving away any spoilers, it just seemed too extreme for the explanation.

Overall, I did enjoy this book. I thought the characters were believable, relatable, and honest. For the most part, the plot was easy to follow and kept me wanting to read more.

This book was so frustrating...and I mean that in the very best way! Tia, Fiona, and Kelly have been friends since high school and each chapter alternates with first person point of view from each of them. And each chapter ends with a cliff hanger that pushes you to read faster to discover what is happening. All of a sudden there are rumors being spread at their kids' school, anonymous, incriminating photos, a tax audit, and a strange young woman seeking asylum from her abusive husband. How do all of these things connect? Well, read this novel and prepare to be blown away!

Tia, Fiona and Kelly have been friends since childhood and although they all still live near to each other they each have very different lives and aren't as close as they once were.

A traumatic experience in the past changed their lives, and now, years later, they each have different secrets, secrets that will see their lives unravel, test their friendships and cause untold worry and misery.

A well written and intriguing plot kept me guessing throughout and for me an enjoyable read.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review .

I definitely liked how this book was written and the way all of the women’s lives were interwoven. I think the pace could’ve been faster and because of that, I got bored quite frequently.

I give this one 4 stars. It was pretty good. There were some things that were predictable but it was overall a quick and easy read. The characters were kind of over the top but not unrealistic. I enjoyed the writing style. Three women who were friends in high school are still friends and living the good life until they each end up in trouble but are too embarrassed to tell the others. They are haunted by their past, which comes back to get them.

This wasn't my favorite Shalini Boland book but it wasn't terrible either. The premise was interesting and you can identify with the bond that the three women have and how it has changed since they were teenagers. My main problem was the number of characters introduced became confusing and I had trouble keeping everyone straight all throughout the book. Also, some of the characters were very one-dimensional and could have been fleshed out a bit more.

In true Shalini Boland fashion, this book kept me intrigued and entertained the whole way through. It follows three women who have been friends for years, each with their own secrets. When it becomes clear that someone knows their secrets and is prepared to use these secrets against them, the women must decide how far they’ll go to save their reputations and keep themselves and their families safe.

I really loved the multiple viewpoints of this book and how we got to know each woman and their inner thoughts and struggles. I’d say the twists in this story were more “slow-building” in nature as opposed to shocking revelations that make you gasp out loud as you’re reading, but I felt like the story was much better because of it. If you’re looking for a true page-turned that you can’t put down, this is the book for you!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Three childhood friends, all are going through difficult times. Each having secrets, too embarrassed to share. Feeling they have nowhere to turn for help. Will they trust each other enough to seek help or will keeping quiet put them all in danger?
This book is filled with suspense and thrills. Enough twists and turns to suck you right in. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a very good book. Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book is like a puzzle, in the beginning, it seems difficult, pieces are everywhere trying to find where they fit. Slowly as you begin putting the pieces into place you begin to see the story. This is a type of book that you want to keep reading, it is intriguing and it pulls you in. There are three main characters in the story; Tia, Kelly and Fiona. As teenagers, they experienced a traumatic event that they want to keep buried in the past but will bubble to the surface. Rumours are being spread and eventually, the truth will be found. I did like this book, I found that I was always looking forward to reading the next couple of chapters. There were a few 'ah-hah' moments coming towards the end of the book and it all made sense. A cleverly written story!

The first half was slow and not very exciting. It was hard to pick it up to read.
However, the second half was really good! It moved fast and had a good story. It was hard to figure out but I don't think it was supposed to be hard. I finished the second half quick. The story was original and interesting as well.
So, if you like thrillers and are okay with slow burns 🔥. Then check out this book. It is out April 3rd 2020.

I really started to enjoy this book with the 3 women’s stories building up . Half way through I thought I’d figured what was going on but hoped I was wrong , unfortunately I predicted correct and it was a disappointing ending with no final twist . Wasn’t too impressed with this , sorry

There is so much to this book and it all makes for a brilliant read. The central characters are three women who have been friends since their school days a time when something bad happened it was so bad that they never mention it. All three of them have totally different lives but they still keep in touch and try to support each other. Nothing is simple in life and when strange and unsettling events start to happen to each of them they try to keep it private and don't confide in each other. This is a great psychological thriller that will keep you glued to the pages right up to the end.

Can I just say first and foremost. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SHALINI BOLAND,

But.........

"One of us is Lying" just wasn't anything like one of her normal books. I mean even the title doesn't really relate to the book, not that there was much of a storyline there, and the storyline at best was poor. I literally do feel awful for this but this but this is the first book by Shalini that just wasn't for me. It didn't grip me, didn't hold me in the usual suspense or keep me reading like a Shalini Boland book usually would.

I won't give up and hope Shalini's next book is back up to her normal intense, easily addicted, grip of a read.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't recommend this.

Yet another brilliant psychological thriller from Shalini Boland One Of Is Lying finds best friends Kelly,Tia and Fiona each having issues to deal with in their lives which threaten to destroy friendships and marriages as well.Yet again Shalini Boland has come up with a book which when you start you won't to put down until the last page as it had me turning the pages well into the night.Another 5 star read and for me she can do no wrong in my opinion.

3 friends begin to experience threatening occurrences and all 3 are afraid to tell anyone. This story is told from each friends view point but it flows together perfectly. This keeps you guessing till the very end and it was super suspenseful. A great read! I read it all in one sitting. Shalini does it again. A plus

4 stars

Just like the last time, my mind is full of static, now that I’ve finished this Shalini Boland novel.

Boland’s hit upon a fantastic formula that keeps you at the edge of your seat, second guessing everything every character speaks or thinks — unreliable narration, some “unknown” POV chapters, a prologue which absolutely piques your curiosity, and of course, the fast paced plot, full of twists and turns.

One Of Us Is Lying is Pretty Little Liars (the TV show) meets real world scenarios. I really can’t say much about the book for the fear of giving away spoilers, but damn, is it a gripping read! There’s blackmail, photos, arrests, secrets, and of course, texts from an unknown number.

It’s a page turner, and the fact that it’s 5:41 am and I still haven’t gone to sleep proves beyond doubt that a) this book is a quick and fun thriller, and b) I’ve had too much coffee.

While The Other Daughter was 4.5 stars for me, this was a solid 4 star read. I’m pretty much hooked to Shalini Boland’s plotting skills for life!

I recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a quick thriller for their 3 hour flight.

I can’t wait to see what Boland comes up with next. Thanks to Bookoutre and NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this thrilling ARC!

This was a nice easy read, would have been good to get to know the characters a bit more in depth and it was a bit predictable but it didnt ruin the story. I would recommend as I did still enjoy it, however not the most gripping book.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is another fantastic and fast paced, page Turner by Shalini Boland that yet again I couldn't put down.
This stand alone is about three friends who all have a very recent dilemma in their lives that tests them to the limit along with their friendships between each other.
I didn't connect the dots until I was near the end of the book!

This story was enjoyable and the characters were relatable I am giving this one three stars, mainly because there was really no suspense. The stakes that were raised never really became an issue and I figured out the who, though not the why long before the book was finished. Then why was a letdown as well. It's a good quick book if you're looking to immerse your self in something for a few hours. Thank you to the author and NetGallery for this ARC.
