Ooh I like this! A real twisty thriller with a series of plane journeys at its heart. Claire and Eva are looking to escape their current lives for very different reasons. They meet by chance at an airport and decide to swap boarding passes and therefore lives. They're through security and about to board their flights. What could go wrong? Well one thing - Eva boards a flight to Puerto Rico which crashes off the coast of Florida, while Claire flies to Oakland and assumes Eva's identity.
We learn about Claire's story in the present day and present tense whilst Eva's comes out gradually in the months leading up to the crash. Talk about intrigue and chills! Loved the way these two stories were told and the voices of both was compelling and utterly gripping.

I've actually fancied swapping boarding passes with someone before. Not in real life but in a dream, a daydream when stuck at an airport. Imagine what would happen!
That cover is gripping too and totally adds to the overall feel of the book. Recommended from me!

I'd recommend this book as the perfect summer holiday read.

This was a great read for me and I read it in one sitting , Two totally different women meet seemingly by chance at airport . Claire is trying to escape a violent marriage to a powerful man , Eva is trying to outrun the life she fell into . They hatch a plan , swap boarding passes and each one takes the others place . We get Claire's story in the present and Eva's story up to meeting Claire .The story really drew me in and I was really rooting for both women to escape . Would be a great beach read . 5 stars

The premise of the book is interesting and not one I have previously come across in the suspense genre. We have two Women - Claire and Eva, the former is married to a rich politician who is an abusive controlling jerk, and she is desperate to leave him . Eva is a single woman from a dysfunctional complex background and has involved herself in serious trouble that can see her be killed or imprisoned. They have an encounter at the airport where they decide to swap their plane tickets in order to solve both their problems.

The book is told in two points of views - Claire and Eva’s, as well as alternate timelines looking at Eva’s past life. The first half of the book starts off with a bang very action packed and gripping. The middle part of the book I felt dragged and the pacing slowed down as the story progressed. I did not connect with Eva’s character as much as I did with Claire’s. Eva’s part of the story was very character driven and not as suspenseful as I expected, it leaned more towards women’s fiction and her character was very one-dimensional.

I did enjoy the female solidarity portrayed, and the sensitive way domestic violence and its effects on the victim were tackled in this book. It would make a great book club pick as it also highlights issues very relevant today especially in the #MeToo era. Overall I enjoyed this unique book and I would recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Hodder & Stoughton for this Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for a review.

Interesting book, quite different to anything I have read recently.I thought the characters were well written, especially the main characters, and the plot was great. The twist at the end took me by surprise, but no spoilers I think this book is well worth a read and I would recommend it.

The Flight centres around two women, Claire and Eva, who are looking to escape their current lives for very different reasons. I could not put it down!

Claire is the wife of a rich, powerful man looking to run for Senate. Her husband is also abusive and controlling. The two women meet by chance at the airport and switch flights. Eva boards a flight to Puerto Rico which crashes off the coast of Florida, while Claire flies to Oakland and assumes Eva's identity.

The story is told alternatively from the point of views of Claire and Eva. Claire's story is set in the present while Eva's covers the months leading up to the crash.

I was gripped from the very beginning and had to keep reading to find out what happens. I found it be a well-written and suspenseful novel with a satisfying end. The main characters were all well-defined and believable. The pace of the story was just right.

I'd recommend this book as the perfect summer holiday read.

I loved The Flight.

Telling the tale of two women with very different lives and what they have to go through to start new, I wasn’t immediately gripped and actually debated not finishing this one since the start of the story was weak. After a couple of chapters I’d totally changed my mind. I actually ended up reading in one session!

This is a story of girl power and I thought it was fantastic.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. Talk about backfire. Did not see many things in this book coming. It was great how chapters were set in the present and before to get the back story on Eva. Shows how you just don't know people until you dig into their past. Sometimes a good plan turns out to be a bad one! Good book!

Disturbing and dark psychological thriller of 2020.
Claire and Eva lead very different lives, but they have one thing in common - they are both in huge danger and need to disappear.
A chance encounter at the airport presents the two women with a simple but crazy solution: switch places then drop off the grid when they land. But one woman will never reach her destination.
Thanks to NetGalley and Hodder Straighten for giving me an advance copy.
