I was unable to open this book in ADE. The program just froze up, every time. Sorry! I spent half an hour trying to whip ADE into shape, but it defeated me.

An objective look at the mechanics of war. I was very interested in learning about the concept of lightning war and was not let down. Lightning war calls for lots of manpower and materiel. It counts on total defeat of the enemy. When the Soviets and British didnt fold attrition and the disasterous numbers of deaths in the Axis ranks took its toll. This title also covers elements of Japanese and Italian as well as Soviet plans and arms. I was surprised to see the large numbers of photos with horses doing the work in the early years of the war. Lightning war ended as the Axis powers began losing battles and much of the history of it ends in 1943.
I found this title to be interesting and well thought out . Lots of relevant photos of the key players and arms used by Germany. Excellent!
