I really loved it, I could not wait to get back to reading it. It was obvious what was going to happen, but it still made for a very exciting read. Thoroughly unputdownable thriller.
A possessive father, a can-do-no-wrong boyfriend, what can possibly go wrong.
The steps taken to uncover the plot, were very well planned and it must have taken a while to writ such a closely written story.
Definately well worth reading.

The Catch is a fast paced family based thriller that I read in a day as it was unputdownable.
Abbie brings Ryan home to her parents and announces they are to get married next month, the reason is because Abbie loves her grandmother dearly and knows she hasn’t long in the world. Ed, Abbie’s father is suspicious of Ryan from the start but is this fatherly love gone too far or is Ryan genuinely too good to be true in his smart suits, perfect hair and looks, army background and a uni degree as well as a good job. Nevertheless things move along and Ed is obsessed that Ryan is hiding something and delves into his past but struggles to find anything out of the ordinary so enlists the help of a private investigator.
This was a brilliant read, I loved “the holiday” and this lived up to my expectations as I hoped it would do. I would recommend wholeheartedly and can’t wait for the next book!!!
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bonnier Books UK, Zaffre for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Ed should be thrilled when his daughter, Abbie brings back her boyfriend, Ryan to meet him and his wife Claire, but he isn’t. In fact he takes an instant dislike to him and thinks something is very wrong. When Abbie and Ryan get engaged and marry a few weeks later Ed seemingly becomes obsessed with discrediting Ryan who is Mr Perfect. He is a decorated ex army officer, has a first class degree in psychology and has a high powered job. Ed starts following Ryan and employs a private detective to dig some dirt.
Abbie and Claire are furious and cannot understand Ed’s obsession. Is Ryan really who he seems, is Ed simply a jealous father who cannot bear to see his daughter growing up or is there some foundation to Ed’s worries?
A gripping book, very believable which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Loved it!

If you have read any of T.M. Logan’s previous novels, you can be safe in assuming that this current book will be another page-turner. It most certainly is!

Doting father, Ed Collier takes an instant dislike to his daughter’s new boyfriend, Ryan Wilson. His wife Claire and mother-in-law Joyce don’t agree. As a former Army officer, successful businessman, special constable and retirement home volunteer, they think Ryan is the perfect partner for their beloved Abbie. So why are Ed’s instincts giving him such a strong warning about Ryan? When Abbie and Ryan announce that they are engaged and due to marry in a mere six weeks’ time, Ed takes it upon himself to investigate his future son-in-law and uncover Ryan's secrets, before it's too late . . .

As Ed becomes increasingly obsessed with Ryan, he puts his family, friendships and his career on the line. His life begins to spin out of control and combined with Ed’s guilt over a past event, I must admit that there were times when I doubted Ed’s credibility as a narrator. I  began to suspect that maybe the story was less about Ryan’s suitability and more about Ed approaching a midlife crisis!

Logan really is a master of suspense. The book begins with a tantalising opening scene before plunging head first into a tense and compelling page-turner. It’s fast, it’s twisty, it's intense and it’s clever. The book explores the darker side of family relationships - love, loyalty, guilt and loss. Logan has a knack of being able to turn something completely normal into something terrible sinister and very unsettling.

The Catch, is a truly gripping domestic thriller that I would happily recommend to fans of psychological thrillers and domestic noir.

Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC of this book!

I was so excited to read this book, as have heard lots about it and is one of the authors I have been dying to read.
I'm not sure about this book, it was fast paced and addictive, however from the beginning it is fairly obvious what the storyline is and what is going to happen. With a good thriller, I like twists and turns and surprises but there wasnt any of this, it was set up as who it was from the beginning and nothing really made me gasp or think OMG I didnt see that coming.
I found Ed annoying and going to completely unrealistic lengths to find out anything about Ryan and was so obvious about it as well!

So for me, as a thriller this left me disappointed, which is why I'm only giving 3 stars, which has surprised even myself as I thought I would love this so much more!

TM Logan is such an amazing writer! The Catch has me questioning everything and everyone, not knowing who to trust! And sometimes I just wanted to yell at each and every one of the characters! This book is gripping and relatable and so twisty! I loved it! Definite 5 stars from me!

Thank you so much to Bonnier Books UK/Zaffre and NetGalley for allowing me the incredible privilege of reading this book in advance!

Yet another great book by T M Logan !! A book that will keep you guessing right until the end - is he good or is he bad ?!?

Abbey is getting married and her parents, Ed and Claire, are meeting her fiancé Ryan for the first time. Ed is a very protective father and although he sees how happy his daughter is he can’t help feeling that something is not quite right with Ryan. But is he right ? Or is he just being overly protective and no one is good enough for his daughter ?

Ed seems to become obsessed with Ryan and is convinced that there is something not right but the more he digs the more trouble he finds himself in. Both Claire and Abbey think Ryan is a lovely young man who can do no wrong and gradually a wedge starts to grow between Ed and his family. Is he right about Ryan or is it all in Ed’s head ?

This is a great is he / isn’t he book that will have you thinking Ryan is bad one minute and then completely innocent the next. What is the truth ? And is it Ed or Ryan that has hidden things from the family ? This one will have you hooked right to the final pages !!

Thank you to Bonnier Books UK and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.

When Abbie met Ryan she was sure he was 'the one'. A few years older than her, handsome, successful & caring he was everything she could want. When she introduced him to her family she was sure they would agree. Her mother & grandmother are really taken with him but Ed just senses there is something 'off' about him. He can't put his finger on it, but is he just too good to be true? In light of her Grandmother's failing health they are planning to marry very soon.

Ed is horrified. He puts all his energy into trying to find out 'the truth'! Soon his whole life is consumed with internet searches, tracking devices & even a private investigator. Nothing could convince him that all was going to be well with Abbie's husband to be. He had a track record for scaring off unwanted suitors, but this was extreme even for him!I really like Ed, but I wanted to shake some sense into him!

This story had me glued to the page. It was a terrific no stop ride. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

I am new to T.M. Logan as an author. This book was one which I sped through as I just wanted to KNOW! the ending when it came was not a surprise and yet the suspense was kept up throughout. It is the type of book which is fun to read once in a while but carries no great depth. A good psychological thriller.

I have very mixed views on this book - was it readable - yes it was - a very easy read and a page turner. However it was so far fetched - silly in places. I could not buy into the characters to be honest and I felt it was a little bit writing by numbers. Very average but I can see that it will be popular and an easy beach read. Sorry I did not like it more.

Another huge hit from this author. This is a fast paced thriller with plenty of twists and turns which kept me guessing from start to finish. Definitely one to read. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

A fast paced thriller with plenty of twists that kept me on the edge of my seat and left me wanting more!! I loved the short chapters and devoured this book in less than 48 hours.

I was more than happy with the ending (a lot of books recently have left me feeling a little flat and disappointed by their endings) and despite a few plot points that seemed a bit unrealistic and left you wondering how on earth that would have happened, I loved it!

Four and a half stars from me!

If like me you enjoyed TM Logan’s ‘The Holiday’ then I would definitely recommend you add this book to your wish list!

Wow!! What a brilliant read! Although you kind of know what is going to happen you can't read fast enough to see if it will have a good outcome or not.

Your daughter brings home a new boyfriend and immediately the hair on the back of your neck rises. You just know he is bad news. How do you deal with this? This is the dilemma Ed must deal with. To make it worse they announce that they are getting married. Will he be able to make Abby see that Ryan is not right for her in time and how far will he go to prove this?

A brilliant and cleverly written story that kept me entertained from beginning to end. You can feel Ed's desperation the more his life falls apart around him. I also found the switch in narrators at the end very interesting and will definitely read more books by this author.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bonnier Books UK and Zaffre Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Oh this was so good, it really took you on a journey and pulled at which side you were on!

Abbie has just announced her engagement to Ryan, a handsome, successful man who appears to clearly adore her.

Abbie's mum is over the moon, Abbie's dad, Ed is less over joyed. He can't put his finger on it, but there is something about Ryan, he gets this weird vibe from him. He had a weird vibe about something in the past and didn't act on that and it led to a heart breaking situation.

Ed goes to crazy lengths to expose Ryan, even though he's not sure what he's trying to expose. His actions put a strain on his job, his marriage and his relationship with Abbie. He can't ignore his gut instinct, but Ryan is the model son-in-law.

Is Ed delusional?
Is Ryan just too smart and can play Ed at his own game?

Either way - we know due to the prologue that a body is buried...

LOVED this book, couldn't put it down. Read it in a day.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book, This is my honest opinion.

This is a fantastic book from T. M. Logan; one I'd been looking forward to reading for a long time and one that definitely didn't disappoint!

Ed Collier is meeting the boyfriend of his treasured daughter Abbie for the first time when he gets the feeling that this man is not what he seems. But to everyone else, Ryan seems perfect. A rising career, model looks, a volunteer with the police and hospice, an ex-soldier and Manchester University graduate, he has everything. Ed convinces himself that Ryan is too good to be true.

Protective of his only daughter, Ed is shocked when the couple announce their surprise engagement with a wedding date just 6 weeks away! Unable to accept this man as his future son-in-law, Ed quickly becomes obsessed with proving that there's something wrong with Ryan. And as time runs out before the imminent wedding, Ed's obsession starts to take over his life as he desperately tries to find the dirt on Ryan before it's too late.

This is a really well written book and swings really well from making the reader as suspicious as Ed and then back to doubting Ed's opinion and state of mind. As his obsession grows, it's unsettling to see just how far Ed is willing to go to keep his daughter safe.

The Catch is really well written with fantastic, well-paced character development that had me doubting myself time and time again. There is also a range of "background characters" who add further intrigue and doubt to Ed's story.

I struggled to put this one down! Fairly short chapters with accounts from the different characters always make for an addictive read and this was done really well in The Catch. About 75% through this book, it really kicks up a gear and even at 98% I didn't know how it would end!

Very enjoyable and very highly recommended from me! If you enjoyed The Holiday, I strongly recommend you go out and buy/borrow The Catch ASAP... you won't be disappointed!

Thank you to T. M. Logan, NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A robust enough fast paced ‘is he bad/‘is he good’story

Ryan is perfect, handsome, intelligent, debonair and even plays his guitar to the very ill at his local hospice in his spare time

Abbie has found her dream man and wants nothing more than to marry him, she is 100% besotted

Ed, her Dad, however has an instinctive bad feeling, something isn’t right, the last time he had one of these ‘feelings’ he didn’t act on it and a disaster happened that wrecked his families lives

Is Ed right? Is Ryan the new Ted Bundy or is he actually just a decent hard working good good guy, sickening in his virtue lol but none the less a dream?

The book takes you on Ed’s journey to find this out and how his own life takes a steep downward turn as he tries to prove what he feels

Well written, thumpingly good characters to hate and others to love and although at times a bit eye raising on the believable stakes a real page turning high drama family thriller that hits all the right spots as it speeds you onto a quite frightening conclusion

8/10
4 Stars

“He caught me watching, and our eyes met. That was when it hit me. There was something not quite right about my daughter’s new boyfriend…”

The Catch is the new thriller from TM Logan, known for his bestselling book The Holiday that was released last year. I was keen to get my hands on his new book and I was very happy to be granted a copy of the e-book on Netgalley.

The story starts with Ed, meeting his daughter’s fiancé for the first time. Ryan comes across as charming, handsome and very successful. He seems to be the perfect future husband to Abbie. To Ed however, he seems too good to be true. He knows in his gut that something is off about Ryan. The shadows in his eyes, the family that is conveniently no longer around, the strange stories he comes out with that don’t seem to add up. Claire, Ed’s wife thinks he is ridiculous and is too over protective of Abbie. This doesn’t stop Ed digging around trying to find out more about his future son-in-law’s past. The more he digs however, the more his own family start to think he is going through some kind of mid life crisis and is going a bit crazy. He risks losing them, his job and his sanity. The book makes you question who is really the crazy one and who do you believe?

This book is probably very close to home to a lot of doting, over protective fathers of daughters. This though is just like a twisted version of the film Father of The Bride. I was horrified at the lengths Ed was going to trying to investigate Ryan. I did think, who on earth would go to such extremes to find out about someone’s past just because of a feeling that something is off. I was at times really cringing at how much of a sticky situation Ed was getting himself into. I just wanted to shout at him and tell him not to do certain things as it always ended up messing everything up. But it all really does bring together a fantastic thriller that draws your attention in so you don’t want to put the book down.

It is quite an easy read with small chapters and it has that type of ending where you race through the pages to find out how it is all going to end. The Peak District makes the perfect setting for some parts of story. The main thing is that you never are sure who to believe throughout the book. Is Ryan hiding something or is Ed just paranoid?

This is bound to be a summer sensation just like the author’s last book. Thriller fans will definitely not be disappointed.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bonnier Books UK for my ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“Smart, intense, and with a humdinger of a mid-point twist. I loved it.” Gillian McAllister author of Anything You Do Say
Last summer, I was on vacation in the blazing Mediterranean sunshine, reading TM Logan’s novel The Holiday. I read it in a matter of hours; it was pacy, dynamic and so careful with the way it drip-fed readers information, leaving us hanging right until the very last page.
When I received an email about TM Logan’s next book, I didn’t hesitate. YES PLEASE!
The main difference between The Holiday and The Catch is that in The Holiday, Logan keeps the audience desperate for information until the very last page. In The Catch, it’s all about the prologue; we know where roughly where we’re going to end up, there’s only the question of who’s perspective it’s written from. There’s a creeping sense of dread when you realise what is happening.
In the first few pages of The Catch, we meet Ed & Claire’s family; their daughter Abbie and her new boyfriend Ryan. We know very little about everyone, aside from Ryan. We quickly learn that Abbie is thrilled with him — he’s the model boyfriend. Then it’s revealed — even though this is the first time he’s meeting the parents — he’s actually her fiancé. Then it’s revealed they’re getting married the following month.
It’s all moving very quickly and Ed, Abbie’s father, is extremely hesitant. But the soon-to-be wed couple have an answer for everything, and a grandmother who’d miss the wedding if they waited any longer, Ed struggles to find a concrete reason why he feels so uneasy.
We spend the novel trying to decide if Ed is unhinged or if Ryan is bad news. TM Logan takes us to the edge of believing both — Ed could be seen as a deranged, stalking, over-protective-to-a-fault father, whilst Ryan has a lot of inconsistencies in his life that Ed just can’t get his head around. But Ed also seems to have secrets of his own.
This is a pacy, smart thriller that will keep heads turning the whole way through the book. TM Logan writes of a father’s insecurity effortlessly, playing on the lengths that a father would go to, to protect his little girl.
