Very good suspenseful ending. Glued to it for the last twenty or thirty pages. The last third was involving. However I found it a very slow start. First time I have read T M Logan though I do have The Holiday ready. I persevered with the slow start because he is a Richard and Judy author and popular. The ending repaid attention given. Thanks to #pigeonhole and #Netgalley for a review copy. This review appears on amazon.

The Catch is about a devoted dad who doesn't care for his only daughters new boyfriend. After only meeting him a couple of times, his daughter announces that they are engaged and her dad starts to investigate his background to find out if he is who he says he is. It's quite predictable but its a fun, quick read and I did enjoy it.

Fantastic novel. The second T M Logan novel that I’ve had the privilege to read and it didn’t disappoint. Fast paced, great characterisation throughout.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. TM Logan's books always sound so catching; yet they have fallen short for me every time. This book was utterly predictable. Ended up skimming part of it and then turned to the back to see it ended exactly as I expected it would.

Thanks to Netgalley for the preview of this book. I read it in a day! From the first page you are engaged & wanting to know if Ryan is all that he appears to be or is Ed right to be suspicious ? This book is really gripping & well written & not to be missed.

A definite 5⭐️ Read for me, this one had me hooked from the opening paragraph. Who is buried? Told from the points of view of Ed, Claire, Abby and Ryan. In four parts.

Part one: Ed and Claire meet their daughter Abby’s boyfriend of seven months Ryan for the first time, it doesn’t take Ed long to see something in Ryan’s eyes that he doesn’t like. But the it turns out Ed has never approved of any of Abby’s boyfriends. So when that same night Ryan makes the gesture of asking Ed for Abby’s hand in marriage, Ed’s thoughts for his daughters safety spiral, what makes it worse is that the young couple have a date for the wedding already and it’s only six weeks away.

Is Ed just a very over protective father? Or is he right to suspect Ryan? Ed tries everything he can to stop the wedding, or postpone it. Following Ryan. Entering his house to have a snoop around. But Ryan seems so perfect, he has a good job, he has a degree in Psychology, he is a special constable, and he works as a volunteer at a hospice. How could anyone not like him?

Part two: Ryan as a son in law, despite being married Ed is still on a mission, causing problems between him and Abby and him and his wife Claire, as well as other things.

Part three: some details of Ryan and things get revealed, is he good or bad, has Ed been right?

Part four: The Catch as things begin to come together, we find out what is going on.

The tension gradually builds from the start right the way through at a steady pace, at times Ed is very frustrating as he doggedly goes on.

But who is right? Who will win the battle?

I would like to thank #netgalley and #Zaffre for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest, fair and unbiased review.

This is the first book I have read by this author, in spite of having a few more on my kindle. Well all I can say is I will definitely be reading the other books very soon. This one was such an excellent read. It had me hooked right from the beginning and kept me there until the past page. An absolutely brilliant suspense thriller that I highly recommend.

This was a great thriller that kept me on edge reading. Whilst a little predictable, I still devoured it and loved the flow and writing.

Just like The Holiday, The Catch had me gripped start to finish. T M Logan really is a master at twists and turns that keep you hooked! The suspense in the final third of the book kept me reading and gasping!

spoiler alert ** 3.5 stars

If you were going on a beach holiday anytime soon, this is the perfect book to take with you.
It's a breeze to read, and I mean that in a good way,and you get drawn in completely.
Ryan really does seem too good to be true,so you understand why father in law to be, Ed is a bit suspicious.
Overly suspicious,a bit nuts, and feeling guilty at having failed one child,he goes to great lengths to prove Ryan isn't what he seems.
I don't be the only one thinking Ed was the bad guy in this.
I sped through the last quarter of the book, and finished it thinking I need to read more of Logan's books.

I received an ARC of this book.

This is only the second book by T. M. Logan, I devoured The Holiday last year whilst I was on my own holidays.

This book did not disappoint, I thought I had an idea of where this book was headed a few times and then there would be a twist to take me down another path.

Would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller.

I really struggled to get into this book, it took me a lot longer than normal to get through, as I kept giving up on it. However I did finally finish it, but I found it very predictable, and not particularly enjoyable.

Of the TM Logan novels I have read this has been my favourite to date. For the most part I found it gripping and gratifyingly easy to read.

Ed’s role I can best describe as a wannabe Liam Nesson in the ‘Taken’ movies - a highly protective Dad who will stop an nothing to keep his daughter safe. Daughter, Abbie, announces her (very short) engagement to boyfriend, Ryan, to whom Ed instantly distrusts and dislikes. Is his paranoia justified?! All becomes clear!

I felt this was for the most part gripping, as I was highly motivated to keep reading over a very short period of time, but just towards the end I felt a Hollywood ending coming on and felt my interest drop slightly! Could be just me! (I like my endings slightly more dark and twisty!)

An enjoyable read overall, in the basis of which I won’t hesitate to seek out more from TM Logan. I am grateful to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

This is my first read by T.M.Logan and it definitely won’t be my last. As the tension built up in the book I found myself unable to put it down and resented any interruption from my family.

Ed seems to all intents to be a overprotective father. The apple of his eye his daughter, Abbie has just brought her new boyfriend Ryan to meet the family. Abbie’s mum and grandmother are instantly charmed by Ryan, but Ed is not so sure, he has a gut instinct that not everything is as it seems about him .

Ryan and Abbie announce their engagement and shock the family when they reveal they want to get married as quickly as they can. This sends Ed on a mission to find out all he can about his future son in law, before the wedding day.

I completely related to Ed’s desire to make sure his daughter was marrying a genuine man . Most parents have an natural instinct to protect their children. The lengths Ed went to did seem very extreme and at times I was speechless at his single handed actions when trying to investigate his new son in law.

As the plot thickened I found myself holding my breath unable to predict what was going to happen next. and what an ending !, I found myself thinking about it long after the last page!! This is definitely a must read!! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for my chance to read this highly recommended thriller.

This is the first book I have read by this author and after reading review of The Holiday I was expecting big things. I felt the characters were a little dull and the storyline was quite predictable and slow in starting. It is an easy read and has good descriptions of the Peak District. I left the storyline needed a few different twists.

As a massive fan of T.M Logan I was thrilled to receive an advanced copy of him new novel The Catch.

I can tell you I was not disappointed.

Tense to the extreme I found myself thinking about it throughout the day until I was able to read on.

The story centres around Ed the somewhat overbearing and overprotective father of Abbie who has just been introduced to his daughters new boyfriend Ryan. Ed has a bad feeling from the start which turns even worse when their impending marriage is revealed.

Ed is convinced charming, handsome, goody-too-shoes Ryan is too good to be true and it’s a race against time for him to prove it before the wedding.

As Ed’s suspicions grow he becomes erratic, unreliable, building a web of lies as complicated as those he is accusing his daughters new fiancé of.

We as readers are left somewhere in the middle, sympathising with a loving father and yet worried that he might be the one to push everyone over the edge.

As the story progressed I found myself literally holding my breath, losing myself completely in the plot as it well and truly unravelled to a shocking conclusion

A fantastic story, readers won’t be able to stop thinking about it!
