Another good book by this author. Read the book in two days, just couldn’t put it down. No real surprises, just good edge of your seat reading. I love it when a fathers instincts kick in. No bigger bond than blood ties.
Such a great page turner from one of the best in the business! I love T.M. Logan's writing and was really looking forward to reading this one - I definitely wasn't disappointed. Thanks so much for sharing this review copy - it was a great read!
I was eager to read this book after reading the author’s last book which I rated 5 stars. This book did not disappoint!
Throughout the book I was left wondering where the story was heading. It is juicy with lots of twists and turns. I felt part of the ending was slightly rushed but maybe I just wanted more!
Mr Logan is a fantastic storyteller and I can’t wait to read his next book!
Yes, that is correct - this brilliant author has another great novel out this summer.
The title is the best play on words ever - is he a catch? - or what is the catch? This is the root of the book and flows between the two themes throughout allowing you to decide for yourselves. And then a bombshell of an ending!
I loved The Holiday - and I fully enjoyed reading this new release. It is a truly dark telling of a parents (and anyones!) worst nightmare. This author is ruthless and the characters fates are not conventional and do shock! You never know where the next twist is gonna come from...
Ideal for those looking for a psychological thriller to get lost in this summer!
I’ve read and enjoyed all of T M Logan’s books and whilst this one was no different I don’t think that it quite matched The Holiday however, I still found it fast paced, intriguing and full of twists and turns.
I found the storyline of the new boyfriend/ over protective father a little bit predictable and the whole plot did seem to be exhausted in parts during the first half however that being said the second half of the book was when everything began to unfold and it managed to redeem itself.
All in all a great thriller book and perfect if you enjoy a good suspense novel.
I absolutely adore TM Logan books, they pull me in from the beginning and make it utterly impossible to put down until the very end.
This like other books I've read by this author, has been one which has kept me guessing throughout and I have been completely unable to put this one down or predict what was going to happen next.
This is an author who has the ability to create a nail biting story which really keeps the reader gripped.
I have absolutely no doubt that this will be a hugely successful book. I have really thought about all details that have been given and tried to predict where this book was going which has been unsuccessful. I highly recommend this fantastic book.
Is the prospective son-in-law too good to be true – or is the father an overprotective deluded fantasist?
A lot of psychological thrillers are more suspenseful than thrilling, but this enthralling new novel from T M Logan is definitely both, with its edge-of-the-seat shock ending.
Logan gives us convincing glimpses into the damaged human psyche, whilst tantalising the reader’s own mind with questions and doubts throughout the narrative. I enjoyed Logan's previous ('The Holiday’) - but I found this one even more compelling and it will be a hard act to follow,
It’s a great read. Flows really well. Very good characterisation very exaggerated and full blown. Has a tense and gripping moments in the story.
I’m sorry but I just couldn’t finish this. Gave up at 28%.
The Catch sounds like my sort of story, the book I’ll read in one sitting and give five stars to. Standard day.
I just couldn’t get away with it. I don’t know if Ryan is a “good guy” and now I never will.
It’s the writing style that ruined the story. There’s so much paranoia coming from Ed and it’s disturbing. I need a more from a book. The whole “dad hates daughters boyfriend” stereotype is overplayed.
The Catch by T.M. Logan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Abbie quickly falls head over heels in love with her perfect man, Ryan. At first Ryan seems like the perfect person: completing voluntary work at a hospice, running marathons for charity and top-dog in a big company. But father-in-law Ed has his suspicions from the moment him and wife Claire first meet Ryan. Ed takes it upon himself to investigate Ryan to find out what he is hiding, terrified that his precious daughter is being trapped by a psychopath.
Absolutely gripping, intense and fast paced. The book builds gradually through 4 parts each told by a different perspective or focus. The tension builds over the chapters, making you feel more uncomfortable as you go through. Just wait until you get to part 4! Wow! A must read. Everyone should go and pre-order this book right away.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for this ARC.
I'd describe this book as a slow burner.
I didn't feel the need to read it all in one sitting. A few chapters a time sufficed, slowly digesting the details.
As a parent you want the best for your children don't you and Ed is no different. He just wants his daughter to be happy but sometimes parents know more about their child's happiness, even if you don't believe them at the time.
Ed is a protective father, even more so after the loss of their son all those years ago.
So when Ryan makes a rapid appearance into his daughter's life, suspicions are high and Ed senses that this man is too good to be true!
The question is are his instincts right or is he about to take his fatherly duties too far?
Now what's impressive with this book is that actually from the opening chapter as a body is being buried you are left wondering throughout the book just who was being buried.
It is a thought that I kept flip-flopping between right until about two thirds of the way through the book..
Very clever writing indeed.
The only thing I would say was that the reveal wasn't overly shocking and this made the last third of the book slightly less desirable, it sort of fell a bit flat after that.
Over all a good book.
My thanks to Netgalley and Bonnier Bks for a copy of “The Catch” by T M Logan.
Wow ! Just finished this and I’m blown away. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down !
This is a masterclass of a psychological thriller.
I really didn’t know where this was going I’m sure if this was made into a tv series it would be one of those that kept people talking about for weeks .
I’ve read and enjoyed previous books by T M Logan but this is my favourite so far. Looking forward to the next !
Cannot recommend highly enough
She says he's perfect. I know he's lying . . .”
Oh what a brilliant entertaining read. Ed is married to Claire. They have a daughter Abbie and had a son, Joshua who died when he was young. Abbie has brought home her boyfriend Ryan to meet the family. Ed catches a look in Ryan’s eye and from that moment on decides that there is more to this man than meets the eye. Something he is hiding something off kilter. The prologue gave us someone with a knife, possibly having committed a crime- we know not who. This is set in Nottingham and Derbyshire which I enjoyed - a blast from the past for me. Ed gets deep into finding out what he believes is the truth, driven by protecting his daughter. His past history hasn;t been great either- no-one has been good enough for Abbie. Oooh!! One of those reads that gets slightly more uncomfortable as you go through, not really knowing why, just that well written tension and unease that something isn’t quite right. I think (?!) I liked Ed and could see his reasoning, having enough justification for finding out more but not enough that he could convince anyone else other than someone taking his money to assist him. A well thought out very clever and captivating plot. My first read from this author- I will be first in the queue for the next one!

Being a huge fan of T.M.Logan and having read all his previous novels I was delighted to receive the ARC of “The Catch’ in return for my honest review. Once again, I found this brilliant and devoured it in just over 24 hours. This may well be the best so far.
Ed and Claire have a dinner inviting their daughter, Abbie, and her new boyfriend, Ryan, as they haven’t met him. The couple announce their intention to get married in a few week’s time. The shock is clear but Ryan seems to be the perfect partner although Ed feels a certain disquiet about him.
Claire and her mother, Joyce, believe that Ryan is brilliant and offers everything Abbie could want in a husband. Ed does not agree and decides to look into Ryan’s background, qualifications and stories by following him, seeking the help of an investigative agency and tracking him with a GPS on his car. At times my heart was in my mouth about what he was doing and what was happening.
Both Abbie and Claire think Ed is losing the plot and try to get him to see reason. He will not listen and his determination to uncover something bad about Ryan leads him into all sorts of trouble. The twists and turns just keep coming and no punches are pulled.
I’m saying nothing else about the plot except the timings and ending are superb. I loved all of the characters especially Ed, as I could imagine many fathers not trusting their daughter’s boyfriends but whether they would ever go to this length is questionable.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bonnier Books and T. M. Logan for this ARC.
Highly recommended and, in my view, another must read by this author.
