This is a book by Annie O'Neil which consists of 12 Chapters. These chapters tell the story of Kirri and Ty, who make for an interesting story. A story which readers will find very easy to get stuck into.

Set in Georgia, Ty is a widowed neonatal surgeon and single father. He meets Kerri, who is also a neonatal surgeon, and invites her to use his lab to further her research into artificial wombs. This research is close to Kerri’s heart as she was born without a womb and so cannot have children.

I found there was quite a lot of medical jargon in this book which overpowered the actual storyline.

This story is about self discovery, self worth and what’s important in life
Kirri is a neonatal surgeon born without a womb who wants to dedicate her life to helping create an artificial womb that would be an extremely advanced incubator and support premature babies and mothers unable to carry their babies to term
Ty is the neonatal surgeon who invited Kirri to come over and use his research lab to further develop her artificial womb. He is also a widowed father with a young daughter who he wants to protect at all costs and he doesn’t want to spoil his memories with his wife Gemma.
I loved the interactions between Kirri and Ty and it was great to see how they developed as characters. You could feel them grow as people and for Kirri, understand that not all families are like hers
There is a lot of medical detail in this book so i would recommend it to people who enjoy medical focused romance with a glimpse into how medical research is done. Also those who enjoy huge character development and self discovery

So there is this doctor- he is single, a widower in Atlanta, Georgia, with a daughter aged 6.
He had married his childhood sweetheart, never dated anyone else, and she died of cancer.

Along comes Kirri from Australia, with Australian gusto and charm, but yet she strives for a perfection one can never achieve.
Her father thought only male children counted, and her best was never enough to attract his attention. And her mother, having done her duty to provide children, retreated into her own world.
I emphasised with Kirri as I too had a father who only cared about his 'golden' son. Girls were for marriage, motherhood.
I too strove to be good enough to attract his attention but failed in so many ways.
Not an unusual situation and so often results in driven women.
I thought that Kiri was well drawn, and loved the mad Atlantan family.
Not so sure about the fixation on ribs these days though, when we know about the problems that too many beef cattle are causing. I applauded the guy who wanted to try BBQ aubergine!

It was a nicely written, light story which I appreciated whilst ill in bed. Good for its genre. No poor grammar or proofreading.

When Kirri decides to take part in a work placement swap for 6 weeks all she has on her mind is furthering her research into successfully achieving her dream on inventing a 'baby grow bag', but from the moment she bumps into her new boss Ty she begins to realise that maybe she has been dreaming about the wrong things all along, and maybe her hearts desire is with her new boss - the single dad with a ready made family. Can Ty turn her dreams into reality...If only Kirri can learn to take a chance on love and the single dad!

Disclaimer - I was sent a free digital copy of this book by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A slow burn, feel good romance that keeps you wanting more throughout. I really enjoyed reading Risking Her Heart On The Single Dad and would recommend it to anybody who wants an easy to read story with a happy ending. I loved the storyline and the believability of the characters and how two people from very different backgrounds overcame their past traumas to come together in the best way possible!

Risking her heart on the Single Dad, Annie O'Neil - received as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

It was a fairly nice and sweet story. I felt it had the bones of a great story with 2 interesting - older than usual - main characters. Unfortunately it just never got going as far as I was concerned. The heroine Kirri (hated the name) started off as quite interesting and perky and I was looking forward to her developing a romance with the hero Ty. However, her behaviour when she observed her first operation in the theatre was so ridiculously over the top as to lack credibility. She wasn't an adolescent girl - she was a 37-year-old professional woman who, keen as she was to impress would never have behaved in such an asinine way.

I really wasn't so interested in her research or her backstory that I wanted to read about it ad infinitum. similarly, I found the medical bits overdone.

Ty was a widower who had married his childhood sweetheart and never been with another woman. He was nice. He was a good dad. He fell in love and wanted Kirri to stay. That was it. I found vast chunks of this story just boring. I found the behaviour of his nurses - trying to force him into a date - embarrassingly awful. I found the intrusive, manipulative and over the top behaviour of his family uncomfortable and embarrassing.

The relationship between Kirri and Lucius was odd - presumably, the writer intends to explore more in Lucius' own story.

Sorry, I think this could have been a really great story but I just didn't buy into it.

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I enjoyed this
It is a bit run of the mill romance but the characters were great and a very satisfying HEA

This book felt a bit flat to me, the characters were very 2 dimensional and the story was a bit bland! It did start to pick up at the end and had a nice ending
