I really wanted to like this book but i struggled.. It all just felt a bit flat ans a bit predictable since the first meeting of the 2 main characters.

I did end up skimming through it.. Unfortunately.
Just not for me

A family focused novel with romance providing a secondary complimentary storyline. The focus is on Juliet, Caitlin and Olivia. The storyline is multidimensional as each character’s storyline is told from their perspective. Secrets are exposed and there is redemption and forgiveness. An enjoyable read but I would want to reread it again in the near future.

A lovely story that keeps you interested all the way through to the end. Definitely recommended to those readers who enjoy reading this type of book.

This beautifully written family story with three strong women at the centre is exactly the kind of book I love. Romance plays out in the background for all three, but the focus is quite rightly on Juliet, Olivia, and Caitlin.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

This was a pleasant read. There were lots of plot twists and turns and I didn't guess things would turn out the way they did for some of the characters (no spoilers!) I like that the story was told from the persepctive of the different characters. It allowed the story to be multi-dimensional and have more depth to it than it might have done otherwise.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC for review.

First let me say that this cover is stunning! The inviting feel that it evokes is exactly how I felt about the book.

Here we find Olivia, a serious and successful programmer who moved away from Cape Sanctuary years before. Her past there holds tragedy and painful memories but when her mother is hospitalised, she drops everything and rushes home to care for her.. Once home Olivia will encounter her past, reunite with her best friend and cope with her some-what obnoxious niece, the daughter of her sister whose life and death were tragic. Throughout the book we discover secrets held by Olivia, her mother, niece and even her sister. The Sea Glass Cottage is a book about healing, understanding, and forgiveness, as well as recognising the strengths each of us hold within ourselves. The book, the story and the characters are beautifully written, engaging and entrancing from beginning to its satisfying conclusion. It is a story you will not want to miss.

When Olivia is witness to anawful assault at her local cafe she starts to experience panic attacks and feels herself withdrawing from society, but then she gets a call to tell her that her mum Juliet has had an accident and will need surgery. Olivia drives through the night to be at her mother's side.
Back home in the town she fled years ago she starts to strengthen the bonds she shares with her mum and her difficult niece.

This was a lovely read, and I was surprised to see it was a Mills & Boon as it is not the usual romance story you would expect.

When I first requested this book, I admit it was based on the cover. It was pretty and beautiful and looked like the type of book I would like reading. When I saw it was a Mills and Boon book I was surprised as this isn't my usual reading. Whilst I enjoy a good chick-lit, I've never really found M&B to be my style. I was pleasantly proved wrong with this book though.
The romance is not over the top, the main story focuses on three generations of the Harper family women. Mother Juliet is recovering from an injury and hiding another secret from her friends and family. Daughter Olivia is suffering PTSD following an incident in her local coffee shop and has lost her usual confidence and drive. Granddaughter Caitlin has discovered information about her mother and aunt that she didn't like and is struggling to find who her father was.
All three women are strong and independent characters in their individual way, even Olivia is strong in many ways she didn't think possible. They are all drawn together following Juliet's accident and have to learn to live with each other and trust each other. All of them have a little romance going on, Olivia with Chief Vance, Juliet with best friend Henry and Caitlin with Henry's son Jake but none of these women rely on the men to solve their issues for them, they are quite capable of rescuing themselves and that was what I enjoyed most about this book.

An emotional read, which covers the lives of three generations of the Harper family. Told from each of their points of view, and that of Cooper too.

This was a gorgeous story about three women, within different generations of the same family.

Juliet, mother of Olivia and Grandmother of Caitlin, has a strained relationship with her daughter and after a bad fall, the two are given the opportunity to make amends. Not only is she making an effort to fix her and her daughter's relationship, but she is also trying extremely hard to fight one off with her handsome neighbour, Henry. Being a stubborn woman like Juliet, there's no way that she's getting through this without hurting herself and the people around her, despite the reasons behind it.

Olivia has had quite a strained relationship with her mother, Juliet, ever since her late sister went off the rails, causing her mother to focus all of her attention on her and the baby she was soon to bring home, so when she returns to Cape Sanctuary as her mothers main carer, the two are forced to work out their issues. Her father passed away at a young age and she's about to find out that there happen to be a lot of secrets within that tragic night. To put more drama in to the works, Cooper Vance, Olivia's long time crush has returned home permanently and she doesn't know whether to finally open up her heart to him, or keep their friendship civil, so the return to Seattle isn't as heartbreaking as she believes it could be.

Caitlin is the fifteen-year-old daughter of Natalie, Juliet's late daughter, Olivia's late sister and is determined to find out who her father is. On top of that, she is desperate to take care of her Grandmother and refuses to acknowledge her Aunties presence, after finding multiple diaries from her childhood, filled with hatred towards Natalie and herself.

I absolutely adored all three women, each of them having fascinating stories to tell. I really loved following Caitlin's journey to finding her father and was so pleased with the end results. Julie and Henry's love story was emotional and a rocky roller-coaster to say the least, however, it was all worth it in the end and my heart fluttered from them constantly. Olivia's story of growth and finding herself was inspiring and I'm so glad she managed to find herself back home, despite the constant need to stay away. It was the medicine she needed after all and she hadn't even known it.

Another stunning book from RaeAnne. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next, whilst catching up on her many, many previous books!

This was a very enjoyable story about three generations of a family.

Mother, Juliet, lives in Sea Glass Cottage and owns and runs a garden centre. Her daughter, Olivia, has a strained relationship with her mother but when her mother has a fall and is hospitalised/needs help with her recovery she heads home to help out for a few months. Caitlin, Olivia's niece from her deceased sister, also lives in the house. Juliet took over Caitlin's care when she was a baby and her daughter died so she's more like a mother than a grandmother to her.

There are secrets each of the three women are hiding from each other, most stemming from the death of Olivia's father, then the death of Olivia's addict sister, with each of them now being forced to work through issues as they are all thrown together again.

Caitlin also never knew who her Dad was, so she is searching for answers and has done a DNA test hoping that will shed more light, but is keeping it a secret from her grandmother and aunt. She has also come across information that makes her very antagonistic towards Olivia, who can't quite figure out what she's done wrong.

So lots of secrets and misunderstandings that are slowly unraveled as the story goes along and really keeps your interest.

A really lovely book with relatable characters. As usual RaeAnne Thayne has written a fabulous story, I do love her writing!

This was a warm, friendly, beautifully written novel. I warmed to the characters and enjoyed the descriptive story-line. A most enjoyable read. My thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy in return for an honest review.

This is my first RaeAnne Thayne novel and it won’t be my last. I’ll admit I struggled a bit at first as I found it difficult to relate to the stubbornness of all 3 main characters and was a little frustrated by their wallowing whilst making no attempt to change their situation. However, I soon warmed to them and I loved both Cooper and Henry. The whole community was warm and the kind of place anyone would feel at home. Added to the obvious romantic plots are the side plots which were engaging. I did feel the revelations about Olivia’s dad’s death were a little rushed and almost glossed over but overall a really enjoyable read.

Life Can Change In An Instant

An ARC was provided for me for free by the Publisher via Netgalley.

Olivia gets a call that her mom has had an accident and is in hospital. She’s struggling with her own issues but apart from that goes to Cape Sanctuary, to her mom regardless of their rocky relationship. She has lots of memories of this place, of times past.

A beautifully written book.
Three women of three generations all under one roof who try to make The Sea Glass Cottage a wonderful place to live.
There was a lot of unspoken issues to deal with for the three women.
I especially loved how the whole story came together with so much happiness at the end. So many descriptive comments in the story. Please do read this lovely book, you won’t be disappointed.

What a beautiful and heartfelt story about three generation of women, each with their own baggage, come together and forge relationships out of lies. Olivia, Juliet and Caitlin were such wonderfully complex individuals who have let past events impact on the family dynamics. When Olivia’s mum, Juliet, falls and injured herself, it brings her home to a family divided. The pain and secrets these 3 carry around broke my heart, and was desperate to see them become a unit again.

My only criticism would be the romance aspect between Olivia and Cooper, it wasn’t really explored enough and felt quite rushed at the end. But overall a wonderfully written story
