THE TERMINAL LIST
by Jack Carr
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My thanks to NetGalley for this ARC

“Revenge is a dish best served cold.” – Klingon proverb

Lieutenant Commander James Reece, of the US Navy SEALS, is on operations in Afghanistan, when his team are ambushed and almost all are killed, as well as those involved in the attempted rescue. After spending time in a military field hospital, the doctors find a mass on his brain. But two of his men had the same mass which turned out to be tumours. The odds of all three men having the same tumours in their brains? Astronomical.
On his return stateside, Reece suffers the worst loss imaginable, and swears he will find and kill everyone responsible, before he succumbs to the tumour. Is time on his side and will he get to the truth at the heights of government?
This is my first book by former US Navy SEAL Jack Carr. His years spent at the pinnacle of special operations, gives him a unique insight into how special forces operate.

Terminal List is a fast paced, compelling story of revenge. Revenge on those who conspired to kill him and his team, and then destroyed everything Reece held dear. Nobody knows what they will do if they lose everything at another’s hand, but Reece had a singular aim; kill them all.

It should be noted that Jack, being conscientious, submitted his manuscript to the US Department of defence, to ensure he hadn’t included anything which could give an enemy knowledge of tactics or operations.

I read this book in two sittings. That was the pull of Jack Carr’s writing style; there literally wasn’t a part of the book that wasn’t pivotal to the story, which didn’t so much hold you by the hand and lead you through, but throw you in there, drag you through at breakneck speed and throw you out the other show, breathing heavily and trying to assimilate what you just experienced.

In short, I loved this book so much, I’m already starting Jack Carr’s next novel True BELIEVER. It is also worthy of note that The Terminal List is being made into a television series Starting Chris Pratt. I recommend this book to anyone who reads action, edge of your seat, unputdownable, thrillers. I have given The Terminal List five stars. (dated 19 March 2021)

This book was excitement from page one, the story, the characters , the action, the locations, the weapons used leave nothing to the imagination. It is definitely a book you will not want to put down. Jack Carr really has written an incredible, No 1 novel in my opinion.
I have been given this book as part of the ARC team and wanted to leave an honest review, now I have double the excitement and heading on too book two.

This was a debut novel by another very talented author, and unfortunately I read the second book first, and only then this one. I still loved the story, and can see my new favorite Navy seal's story line going places! Especially Mozambique! Recommended.

I DEVOURED THIS BOOK. James Reece is a force to be reckoned with. A Badass. So many ways to describe him.
I thoroughly enjoyed Terminal List - after reading True Believer I was delighted to be given the chance to read Terminal List, going back to the beginning of the story of James Reece and I wasnt disappointed.

James Reece is a SEAL commander whom oozes respect and stature throughout his colleagues and those who he has taught. When a mission goes sideways, Reece is left as one of only 2 survivors from his troop and all eyes are on him as the commander in charge for the failed mission. Things begin to unravel when he arrives home and discovers his friend and fellow SEAL Boozer has committed suicide straight after returning home. The powers that be have plans for Reece and plan on pinning everything on him as there are much larger forces at work here in the US Government.

The story plays out at a fantastic pace and in such great detail leaving no stone un-turned - I am ery excited to read Savage Son when it comes out next week.

There is a new kid in town and from the first few pages of his debut novel Jack Carr has managed to catapult himself up to the exclusive club of writers like Vince Flynn, Lee Child, Rob Sinclair and Scott Mariani.
This time our hero is a navy seal and boy, you do not want to cheese him off. Toe curlingly gruesome at times, you will still find yourself cheering him on, right to the end.
I do love a good revenge thriller and this is a good one, one of the best.
Obviously well researched (and I gather the author's own history helped) combined with a gripping writing style will soon make Mr Carr a household name.
I'm already devouring the next one and looking out for the third in the series.
My only regret is that, having lost my father two weeks ago, I can't pass this recommendation on. We always shared a good novel and he would have loved it.
