As someone who works with children and having seen an increase in challenging behaviours in recent years I was intrigued by this book. I wasn't sure if it would be a beneficial read but I wasn't disappointed.

The book is full of useful information and you can tell from the authors writing and knowledge that she cares very much about educating on this topic in order to best help children. The way the book links the brain and how it's often trauma responses and coping mechanisms rather than just the misbehaviour we as adults often see it as is fascinating and really makes you reconsider how you respond to children and consider what they might be dealing with.

The case studies in the book are very handy to see how the theories work and have benefitted children and I really liked the way each chapter ended up with a brief summary. This book is full of information so that is very handy to have. The iceberg and worksheets throughout the book are great for trying some of the suggested methods yourself.

This is a fantastic book that anyone who works with children would really benefit from reading. It is full of useful information and will make you reconsider how you see challenging behaviours which is surely the first step in helping the child, well worth a read.
