I loved the front cover of this book and was excited to receive it to review.
It was easy to get into but felt the story stalled half way through.
Great for an easy beach read and did make me laugh out loud at time’s.
I will recommend and would read another book by this author .
Loved this classic chick lit story!
The girls are such great characters who are so real. It demonstrates some classic friendship through difficult patches.
I felt like this book had a lot of promise. One of the things that drew me in was how relatable these women were.
However about half way through it felt like the book lost it's way a bit. It all got a bit wild and not relatable - choppers, millionaires and rockstar boyfriends.
It was a light easy read and considering all that's going on in the world right now just what I needed.
Stella is married to Jake, they have 2 children.
Ana and Rex are trying for a baby, but her heart yearns for an old flame.
Dixie using Tinder meets a mystery man on a plane.
The story of 3 real friends who can tell each other the truth even if it hurts.
This story is told in a fun and raunchy way, that made me laugh out loud in places. A smooth, feel-good read I would definitely recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley, HQ and Author Tabitha Webb for my pre-publication copy in exchange for a review.
The book follows three friends Stella, Dixie and Ana all now approaching their forties and at different stages of their lives and all a bit jaded with what life has dealt them.
Stella used to be a highflyer in the fashion world and is now a married mum of two with a husband who’s keeping secrets from her. Ana is desperately trying to get pregnant with her partner Rex and Dixie who isn’t ready to settle down preferring hook ups via Tinder.
From the first lines in the book I found myself empathising with Stella, as a mother we’ve all been in that position in the supermarket. I really thought I would enjoy the book but as the book went on, although there are some bits that are very relatable and funny, I just couldn’t get into it.
For a debut book I think it’s written well and if you like a raunchy, funny, beach read this could be for you.
Thank you to Net Galley and HQ for the ARC
Stella, Ana and Dixie are the best of friends, they have been there for each other through the good and bad days. They now unknowingly find themselves all at a crossroads in their lives.
Stella is married to Jake and they have 2 children. She has gone from having a high flying career to being a house wife, worrying about her not so close relationship with her husband, who has been keeping financial secrets from her.
Ana is trying for a baby with partner Rex but her heart belongs to an old flame.
Dixie a fan of Tinder, meets a mystery man on a plane. Could he be Mr Right?
Loved the friendship of the three women, only real friends can tell each other the truth even if it hurts.
This story is told in a fun and sometimes fruity way, that made me laugh out loud. An easy to read book that I would definitely recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.
Firstly a big thank you to hq for ny copy to to review on netgalley. I also got to listen to this author so was very keen to read. She sold it very well in her speech!
Fun,filthy and a real treat.
A real bonkbuster thats realistic too. Steamy ,saucy and sexy.
3 friends,3 very different womem with different lives but they all have needs...
I loved this book and highly recommend if your after a naughty funny escape.
A excellent debut so look forward to seeing what she writes next.
I absolutely loved this little gem of a book. It instantly grabs you and whilst, yes, it is a chick-lit based on 40- somethings generally having a bit a of breakdown about life, it’s totally and utterly relatable.
I loved all the characters, all the scenes - I laughed at the escapades knowingly and sympathised with almost all the events that occurred. Unputdownable. Absolutely would gift it and recommended it to my gal-pals and there’s nothing better than a happy-ending, really - is there?
A self confessed lover of the bonk buster and fan of Jilly Cooper, Tabitha Webb said she was determined to write a book full of filth. Which is what she has managed. It’s full of the normal bests - unfulfilled mothers, yearning for children, marriages crumbling under the weight of real life - along with cliched remedies such as lesbian love affairs, rock star boyfriends, friends forever who will see things through to the end on hedonistic nights out.
The synopsis explains: 'Friends Stella, Ana and Dixie are all at different stages in their lives, but they could all do with a shake-up. The three women are about to find out that life doesn’t stop in your forties – in fact it’s only just begun…Fresh, fearless and hilariously honest, No Regrets is perfect for fans of Dawn O’Porter, Kate Davies and Tracy Bloom.'
Webb is an acclaimed designer and entrepreneur who launched her eponymous luxury fashion brand in 2013.
Due out in the summer, it’s definitely what you’d call a cheap thrill beach read. And when everything else in life is so tough, there’s nothing wrong with that.
This was a new author for me and not my usual type of book and initially I did struggle trying to keep abreast of the characters but as the book progressed it became easier as we got to know the three friends Stella, ana and Dixie and followed the ups and downs of their love life, work life and friendship! Ultimately it showed how long standing friendships can weather the up and downs that are thrown at it and together the trio come out with a stronger, better friendship group! A good read but it didn’t really draw me in however I would be interested in reading further books from this author.
Thank you net galley for this early read.
This is an absolutely brilliant debut novel, i'm still in shock that this is a debut novel.
This is one of those books that caught my eye on twitter and instagram, the cover is eye-catchingly gorgeous. I do love a bright colour!
I have loved following the frenemies- Stella, Ana and Dixie throughout this one. It has been a nice escape to read about the decisions, regrets and betrayals that take place throughout this one.
I have found the characters likeable, but have not completely related to them on the whole. This is a book which I have devoured in one sitting whilst sat with the sunshine. This is an author who I have high hopes for and I am extremely excited to see what the future holds.
This is a book I will be recommending to other readers, I have really enjoyed this one and found myself wanting to read more by this author.
Disclaimer - I received a free digital download of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I found the first few lines very comical, especially being a mother myself, unfortunately I’m well aware of the shopping trolley - toddler struggle. However, I did find it difficult to get pulled into the book at first.
The story follows 3 friends - Stella, Ana and Dixie. Getting to know them through their families, children and lovers. Some might think them unlikely friends who’ve grown and gone down very different routes, but somehow their history still bonds them.
I found this book quite difficult to get into, I’m not entirely sure if it was the writing style or the theme of the story as I have found it quite difficult to read ‘midlife’ crisis, older woman books. I did like that no matter what happened between the women, they managed to sort out their differences and came out stronger on the other side. I think everybody needs friends they can count on to have their backs no matter what.
Trigger warning : infidelity, gambling.
The plot and writing in this book is funny and well paced.
The friendship of the three girls is highly relatable for those that have had friends for a long, long time.
It didn’t completely blow me away, due to the fact I didn't really buy into the actions of any of the women being overly realistic.
That said, individually, the plotlines were fun, very different from each other and all tackled things that a woman is "supposed" to find joy in
⭐⭐⭐.5/5
Read about best frenemies, Stella, Ana and Dixie's life changing decisions, regrets and betrayals. Where will they end up? Will it all work out? Should they have regrets?
This is one of the hardest reviews I've written, purely because I'm slightly conflicted, I loved reading what happened with their lives and how things ended but also I personally found it hard to relate to any of the 3 main characters. However, each and every character at one point or another, I felt for, wanted to give them a hug and keep them safe. Other times I wanted to give them a good shake and say what are you doing! Definitely an adults book with raunchy moments that you might not necessarily see coming! Over all not my usual type of book but I still enjoyed reading it non the less!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publicist and author for giving me an advanced digital copy of this book.
For fans of Bridget Jones and Dawn O’Porter’s books, this story follows 3 women who are finding out that getting older doesn’t mean your life is in order ... Stella used to be a career woman, now she finds herself bored and looking after her two children, with financial problems on the horizon. Ana wants a baby, doesn’t she? At 40, she needs to make a choice soon. Dixie is the only one who life seems to be coming together for ... or is it? This is an enjoyable tale of female friendship, although occasionally I did feel as though there was something missing when certain relationships were described, and some of the more intimate scenes seemed to be there just for the sake of it. But overall, a summer read that deals with the realities of life and becoming disenchanted with what is right in front of you.
