This was a fun friends-to-lovers romance with suspense thrown in. I hadn’t read the others in the series, but it didn’t matter, it was stand-alone. Grace and Logan were good people stuck in a bad situation.
An entertaining and well written friends to lovers romance, with some good suspense thrown in to keep things interesting. I haven't read any others in the series, but no problem, as this story stands alone. Recommended to lovers of this genre. 😍 My thanks go to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC in return for my opinion.
The long-awaited return to the Serafina series has arrived and Logan gives us a story of love and honor that reminds us that not everyone gets it right on the first try, but hopefully we all ends up with the right person in the end. Katie Reus is for sure a favorite author of mine and I loved this series when it first came out last year, a spin-off of her ---- series. When the series ended rather abruptly many readers began begging for Logan to get his won story, having gotten to know him when his twin, Roman, fell in love. Well the wait is finally over and it was worth every moment. Grace moved to Vegas a few years earlier after a rather disastrous ending to her engagement left her unwilling to stay in the same town as her ex. Since then she has made a lot of friends and in building her life up, but she’s not exactly a party girl, a teacher with a quite life, except the one bit of excitement in her life is her best friend Logan. He lights her up and makes her burn anytime he is on her mind on in her presence but she knows his reputation and isn’t willing to trust him with her heart. Logan has been falling in love with Grace since the moment he met her, but she won’t let him out of the friend-zone. One wild night changes everything when she let’s down her guard and he gets her into his bed, but she pulls away just as quickly. Soon he is back pining for the woman that makes him burn and leaves him aching for a life he can’t seem to grab ahold of. When danger follows him home, putting Grace directly into the cross hairs, there is no way he will let her be in danger because of him, so he pulls her into a protective detail that will put the heat level between them up to a thousand. Running for their lives doesn’t seem to stop the passion between them and if only they can slow down long enough to actually talk about the future, they might both come to understand that fate has brought them together and they are the perfect pair. Log is such a big sweetheart, as is apparent from the first moment he appear in this book (for those who hadn’t already met him), and his protective streak is as deep as the Grand Canyon. Whether he is fighting for their lives or showing Grace how much he appreciates her passion, his dedication in everything he does makes him the ultimate good guy and the type of alpha male that I always love to read about. I loved seeing him in action both bringing down the bad guys and finally getting a chance to work his magic on Grace. Grace is a woman who was burned badly in the past, and understandably has her doubts about starting a relationship with someone she thinks is a player, but at the same time I wish she had opened up to Logan a little more sooner. Once she did begin to see him for the man he truly was, letting her perceptions go, I like her a lot more and began to appreciate her character. I enjoyed seeing her working alongside Logan when they were on the run and while she was so obviously way out of her depth, she refused to give up or become a damsel in distress, fighting for her man and standing up for those that were in danger around her. I loved the chemistry between Logan and Grace, but the laughter and sweetness of their relationship was just as fun to read about, building a solid base for them to build their lives on. I am hoping this wasn’t the end of the return to the Serafina series, but if it was, it was a great way to go out to be sure. Way to go Katie, another masterpiece.
I absolutely loved this journey back to the Serafina in Vegas. Katie Reus has done it again with this action packed falling in love with your best friend book. Knowing that Logan and Grace are besties and already have a solid relationship makes this adventure even more fun. When one of Logan's jobs follows him home, and the danger is shifted to Grace, is it no holds barred for her protection. He will go to the ends of the earth to protect her, all while falling deeper in love. I love all the emotions that are brought out in this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I could not put it down.
Deadly Surrender is a great friends to lovers romantic suspense story. I mean who doesn't love a great alpha-male protector who has the opportunity to take his friendship/crush to the next level? This author is so fantastic with character development. Not only do I care deeply about our main couple, but she is able to masterfully weave the supporting cast into each of her stories, making me care equally for them. I always end her books searching for the next book in the series. Well done!
Not sure how I feel about this one. I really enjoy this series but I had a hard time engaging with this one. I thought it was a good book but it was not one of my favorites of the series. If you love this series it is worth the read, but if you have not read the series I would not start with this one.
Deadly Surrender by Katie Reus.
This is book 5 in the serafina sin city series.
Grace had her heart broken by being jilted at the altar. But Logan her who is one of her friends she is starting to have feelings for. Does Logan feel the same way?.
I really enjoyed this book. Great story and some good characters.
I liked Logan and Grace. I hope there is more to come. 4*.
Logan is basically perfect, and Grace was pretty awesome too. I just loved the story, which kept me guessing, but was romantic and sexy at the same time. Can’t wait to read more of the series now!
Hot and wild....non-stop action and thrilling romance. Totally unputdownable. The story flows perfectly and is thrilling with well developed characters and some fantastic secondary characters too. Has lots of action, drama, suspense, chemistry, and romance which took this story to another level. Absolutely loved it. Bring on the next book please!! Happy reading everyone!!
3.5stars
What are you supposed to do when you meet the man who left you at the altar on your night out? You let your best male friend pretend to be your boyfriend and then have with him a wild night. That is exactly what Grace and she runs the next day because she doesn't think that Logan will want a relationship with her. She doesn't know that Logan is hoping and patiently waiting for Grace to be his but how will he persuade her that he wants her for the long haul? He comes with the plan and Grace once again becomes the fake girlfriend, but when someone shoots of them everything changes. And Logan is determined to find the shooter and make Grace his forever.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Another great read by this author! Although a standalone, secondary characters are from other stores. This was a good friends to lovers book. Logan and Grace are friends until it starts turning into something more. Grace's ex left her at the alter, so she becomes scared when her relationship with Logan starts changing. When someone threatens Grace, she turns to Logan to help her. Great romantic suspense! Can't wait for the next book!
The story was good but predictable. I have read many of Katie's books are always enjoyable - but this story was too predictable. The romance was good -but the action between / fighting was too much like the story before. I always look forward to her stories. I think it is the current world situation that influenced my opinion about the story. .
I do recommend the story to anyone who like books where both the female and the male character are strong and together they can take on the world.
Katie Reus has become a perennial favorite of mine, because I know she delivers a solid romance with a great balance of suspense. Since she writes in a series format, there tends to be a lot of characters, who show up in all of the books. That said, you don’t have to be well-versed in her Sin City series to enjoy DEADLY SURRENDER. This friends-to-lovers tale is satisfying, even if I wish I could occasionally interject myself into the story to tell them to snap out of it. Grace Foster is in Las Vegas for a fresh start, having been left at the alter by her fiancé. Lucky for her, Logan MacNeil is part of her group of friends helping her find her new normal. Unlucky for her, she and Logan have great chemistry and feelings for each other—Logan’s a player, and she’s got no interest in being his next interlude. But dangerous things are afoot, and these two have another attempt on their lives, so they’ve got to stick together to stay alive. And wouldn’t you know it, having to talk actually leads them to realize that she’s ready to move on, and he’s ready for her to be his final interlude. If they can just stay alive long enough to trust their chemistry and a future together. Hey, it’s Vegas, baby, where everything’s a gamble.

Thank you for NetGalley for allowing me to receive an ARC of this book.
This is the first book I have read by this author as well as in this series. Having not read any other books in the series, it was pretty easy to follow along since this book featured a new couple with pop-ins from other characters from the previous books. Logan and Grace have been friends for a long time with both wanting to take the friendship to the next level but each is too scared to ruin their already good friendship. When both of them are put in danger, Logan decides to take charge and will do anything to protect Grace. I really enjoyed the story, it was full of love, laughter and suspense. I would definitely read more in this series and by this author as well!
Katie Reus is one of my favorite storytellers.
She delivers a really tight narrative and well crafted characters whose stories can standalone while being part of a bigger world. Deadly Surrender is a perfect example of why Reus writes romantic suspense. She gives the reader the same knowledge the characters have which builds our anticipation to the very end. This is not one of those books you start when your settling in for bed....you won't be able to put it down.
I am a big fan of this author and the stories she writes. However, I couldn’t get into this story as much as I would’ve liked. Yes there was drama and suspense like you expect with romance but I couldn’t connect with the characters. I found myself more annoyed than anything and struggled to get through. I will certainly check out more by this author and encourage others to do the same. What may not be a story for some is golden for others.
I tried so hard to get into this book, but I just couldn't. I didn't like the main character or the story line and I gave up about a little less then halfway through. Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me.
There is lots of action and suspense and romance in this well written story. It has a friends to lovers story-line with a threat plot line providing the suspense element. This was a great addition to a favorite series.
The fifth book in The Serafina: Sin City, Deadly Surrender is an engaging romantic suspense. Logan and Grace are great character and along with the secondary characters make for an exciting, compelling read.
A big thank you to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This book is part of a series but reads as a stand alone. This is Logan and Grace's story. It's a friend's to lovers tale and full of suspense!! I was surprised. It's a crazy ride and I got a little tired of Grace (no we are just friends who have already slept together). Other than that fun. 3.5 stars I think most romance readers would enjoy
