The twelfth novel in the Steele brother series, Mercury meets Sloane when she has just escaped from her parents and an arranged marriage. They have cut her off financially and Mercury, a high powered attorney, catches her driving his stolen car (which she has paid for). As the story progresses she becomes a more likeable character. Chemistry slowly develops between the paid and given a little push by the Steele family they get their HEA.

Another brilliant romance from Brenda Jackson. This writer was fairly new to me (I've only read one other from this series) but she's becoming a favourite.

Thank you to NetGalley and to Mills & Boon Insiders for allowing me to read this lovely romance in exchange for an honest review.

Just what you need on a lockdown weekend a sexy billionaire with a heart of gold. My first encounter with the Steele family didn't disappoint. Mercury and Sloane have red hot chemistry from their first meeting. It's fun watching the heartbreaker fall in love. Sloane and Mercury are wary of love, but a happy ever after beckons with a little push from the Steele family.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book so wasn’t what I was expecting but it caught my attention and had me wanting to find out what would happen next
Sloan has escaped her rich parents and her arranged marriage to a man but has been cut off financially. Her determination to be independent endeared her to be and I loved her as a character. As the story progressed, I could feel her becoming more human and a better version of herself
Mercury on the other hand initially saw Sloan as the person driving his stolen car and someone who needed protecting given that everything in her life went very wrong very fast. Whilst I liked the protective nature of his character I struggled much more with the rest of him, at times he didn’t seem as real but that could just be my attention so caught up with Sloan’s development as a character that I missed out on some of Mercury’s
This book is well written and will draw the reader in with enough twists and turns to keep your attention
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a sexy romance with a heroine full of strength and independence not wanting to rely on anyone

When Mercury Steele sees his stolen car he decides to give chase to capture the thief, but when the thief turns out to be the lovely Sloane will she steal more than his car?

Mercury is a confirmed batchelor and fights his attraction to Sloane, but as her story starts to unravel he finds himself more and more in over his head and fighting the attraction is no longer working. Will he get swept away by Sloane and get his own happy ever after

2 stars. Received an ARC from Netgalley in return for a honest review

Sorry, the story sounded good, the cover was good, but this is just another boring, derivative piece of fiction that seems to appear with monotonous regularity.

The characters were stereotypical, boring and predictable. I really must learn not to fall for the ‘hook’ and investigate the author more. It’s not badly written but it didn’t capture my interest at all. I loathe books which have characters without nuance or depth. Just absolutely not my cup of tea. Sorry.

Received an ARC from Netgalley.

Seduced by a Steele is the 12th book in the Forged of Steele series by Brenda Jackson. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but there isn't really any need to.

The Steele brothers have a reputation for being ladies men, that is until one by one they find love and get married. Two brothers are left single and Mercury Steele is one of them.

He has no intention of settling down but all that changes when he meets Sloan Donahue. She's a beautiful woman who he catches after he sees her driving his stolen car. His precious vintage stolen car.

Sloan's parents have tried to force her to marry somebody she doesn't want to marry. Wealthy families want to make an allegiance and Sloan refuses. Her father gives her an ultimatum, it's his way or the highway, she takes the highway and he cuts off all of her income. She has a small amount of cash but it isn't going to last long especially as she paid money good money for the car that Mercury accuses her of stealing. She explains her circumstances to him and she brings out all the protective instincts in him that he never knew he had. He convinces her to let him help her and from then life is never the same for either of them.

They both have reasons they should stay away from each other but their attraction to each other might just be too strong to fight. If they were to give in to it though would Sloan's father be able to put a stop to them being together? He is a powerful man who is desperate to have her marry the man of his choosing, but why IS he so desperate?

All will become known when you read the book!

I enjoyed the story, I loved Mercury in his role of hero, and of course, he is gorgeous, irresistible, and according to the author is very well endowed which makes for some interesting intimate scenes! Sloan tries to be independent as much as possible despite her circumstances and I love that she doesn't want to just accept anything Mercury wants to buy her just because he can afford it.

The only negative thing about the story is how the author more often than not uses the characters full names when talking about them including their middle names. I saw no need for it and it got quite annoying. I just read the first names and carried on. I just can't see how anybody in conversation with a friend would keep referring to their mother or relatives as their whole names, especially the mother because surely they should just call her mum! Other than that though I did enjoy the book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series even with all those long names lol.

Well I thought that these weren’t the first in the series about the Steele family, and checking on Amazon I find that they are books 12 and 13 in the series...
But that in the Kimani imprint (African American novels only) there is a number 89 in the series! So the story goes on...
These 2 novels take on the romances of the 2 youngest of the 6 sons of the family.
Whilst I thought these 2 books were reasonable for their genre, with gentle humour and nice story-telling, I found them rather short. But then if Brenda is turning out the numbers of books she is, she can’t write a longer length novel each time. And it may also be the norm for this imprint.
This left me wanting more depth from the characters and the stories.
Adequate but not exceptional.

Disclaimer - I was sent a free digital copy of this book by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A slow burn, feel good romance that has just enough drama and passion to keep you wanting more. I loved the dynamics of the characters in this book and how the complimented each other so well. Incredibly realistic portrayal of two people and the struggles that come with modern life. I especially loved Sloans character and felt excitement and happiness alongside her through her development as her own independent person! Would definitely recommend this book book!

Mercury Steele is a womanizer and he has no reason to stop what he is doing. Sloan's parents tried to get her to have an arranged marriage but Sloan was not doing that and she stood her ground so her parents gave her an ultimatum, marry or they will take all her financial help away so she decided to leave and have her freedom from her controlling parents. Mercury car was stolen but he didn't expect to find a beautiful women at the wheel. Wow I love this book so much and it is the first book that I have read by Brenda Jackson but definitely not the last and I am looking forward to reading more books. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is so well written and worth reading.
