"I wonder when she knew. When did she realise she wasn't going to get out alive, that this was her last mistake?"

I'm always excited to discover new authors, whose work I haven't read before. And I have to say, having finished this book, I really look forward to reading more from this one.
From the very first page, everything is done right and I was hooked. The characters, the storyline, the realistic relationships... Just everything about this one hit the spot. A very 'on the edge of your seat' read with plenty of exciting twists.
Highly recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this.

I really struggled to get into this one. The murder was definitely different but I found the writing long winded and I just kept losing interest. It seemed to jump around and the switch in POV didn't really make sense. I also didn't really connect with Dove.

I was intrigued with the blurb and it didn’t disappoint! Detective Dove Milson is called to a crime scene. The murder is a replica of the work of serial killer Peter Hayworth, known as the Glass Doll murderer. He would be the prime suspect but he’s already dead. This is suspenseful and creepy, it kept me on my toes. Thanks to Joffe Books and NetGalley for an ebook copy. This is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It has lots of red herrings and a twist in the end. It wasn't my favourite book, but I would definitely read this author again. Thanks netgalley for the opportunity in return for an honest review

Follow Detective Dove Milson as she tries to catch a copy cat killer, who injects his victims, puts them in a glass case, and let's them suffocate in this crime thriller by D.E. White.

I tried to like this book, I really did, but the story line fell flat to me because it was all over the place. Her almost getting killed on the job and not being able to have kids afterwards, her niece Eden being killed by the original Glass Doll killer, a group of teenagers shaming peodophiles on YouTube, her relationship issues with her boyfriend, her not so strong relationship with both of her sisters, her other niece disappearing during the present day murders... honestly, I struggled to finish this book.

It did leave a surprise ending though because I did not guess who the real killer was. Thank you Net Galley for letting me review this book.

One of the perks of reviewing books I get from Netgalley is that this way I discover lots of new authors, like this one, D. E. White, an author I had never even heard of before.
I was attracted by the cover and the title so I requested this book, not knowing what to expect.

Detective Dove Milson, a former CHIS handler, is in for a surprise when her first major case with her new department turns out to be a copy cat killer of the glass doll's murderer who killed her niece 4 years ago. Although the killer confessed to having killed her niece, her body has never been found.

As the story progresses her family becomes more and more entangled and it looks like the killer has a kind of obsession for her family.

I was pleasantly surprised by this blood-curdling thriller and it's unexpected and surprising ending.
My first 5 star book of this year, a small 5 stars, but nevertheless, yes, 5 stars

I received a copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for my thoughts. Having just finished, my head is spinning. There are a lot of coincidences in this book, and it’s painful to think such evil could go under the radar so easily, but this was a story that really never let up.
The main focus for our story is Dove, a police officer who has clearly experienced some trauma in the line of duty. We first encounter her as she is called in to examine a body. This body is of a young woman, found entombed in a solid glass case. Immediately we are told that this killing bears many of the hallmarks of a previous case - that has been solved, and the guy responsible is dead. So, who is responsible for this copycat?
It’s important to not have too much detail before reading this. The glass doll case and the links to earlier events are clearly important, and feature heavily. As does the background information about Dove and her family.
It doesn’t take long before we start to realise that Dove and her family are more deeply involved in these events than you might expect. As more and more details are unearthed, we are let into some of the past of the family. Each new revelation ramps up the tension we feel for the current situation. By the end I wasn’t surprised by anything we learned, but I was left with a deep sense of admiration for these women...

Good read, would of given it 5 stars, but I felt there wasn't enough back story on Alex. He played a big part in this book and I felt he needed to be fleshed out more. Otherwise it is a good mystery, with lots of suspense. I enjoyed reading it.

Wow! What an amazing thrill ride. I was hooked from the very first page. I was not expecting the twists in this story at all but that made for a great read. Really good book. I'll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Heart pounding read. Enjoyed the writing style, and once I started this book, had to keep reading till I finished it. Lots of twists along the way, and the final twist was totally unexpected. The ending was appropriate, with all the loose ends tied up. Satisfying finale, because it all sort of comes good in the end.

Glass dolls is a classic thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the book.
The characters and the plot are well etched out. I loved the complex yet emotional bond between the three sisters. The storyline keeps you hooked right from the beginning. And it never gets slack at any point. The end was quite a surprise, totally unexpected. Which shows the authors prowess in maintaining the suspense till the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

This book was right up my alley! The first few pages hooked my attention (which is what I look for in a thriller). I was then invested in Dove trying to figure out what exactly was happening with a few of her family members, one, Eden, who had been missing for years. The book had many twists and turns and in the end I did not expect the outcome. Trust me, it isn't what you think!

Thanks to #netgalley for the copy!

I just reviewed GLASS DOLLS an addictive crime thriller with a fiendish twist by D.E. WHITE. #GLASSDOLLS

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of police thrillers from Britain. There’s just something so gritty about them.

This is definitely a thriller that kept me turning the pages. I had to know what happened next. The characters were well written and well developed and I connected with Dove. The story line was also well written and kept a quick pace. No time for boredom!

My only complaint about the book was how the chapters ended. It felt disjointed.

I will be looking for more books from this author.

When a young girl’s body, perfectly encased in glass is found, fear ripples through the community. This MO is a perfect replica of the Glass Doll Serial Killer, only this serial killer was caught and prosecuted years ago. Is he back? Is this the work of a copycat? Or is it something more personal and sinister?

I love British thrillers and police procedurals, they are always a delight to read, and this one’s no different. The plot especially is so intriguing, I had to dig in. The story mainly revolves around one of the detectives, her struggle to balance pressures of her career and personal life, all the while trying to solve this series of grisly murders, as things keep on hitting too close to home. I think the plot was very well crafted and the story was wrapped up pretty good with a few characters, and the twist when it came definitely surprised me. The insight into various police procedures was very interesting and I really appreciate that the details of the sufferings of the victims were only implied and not told in great in detail. My only problem was the central character’s self-absorption verging on psychotic, I mean I’d understand the hurt but it was a bit too much imo. Also, I’d have appreciated a bit of an insight into why the villain decided to go so close to home. But all in all it was fairly good ride and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Let me start off by saying I LOVED this book! The characters had depth and their own personalities that made them seem so real and helped me believe the story. I think the writing was so good as well. There wasn’t much information dumping and when there was it was done tastefully to help us understand the character’s backstory. Another thing I really enjoyed was not being able to figure out the murderer up until the reveal. That helped me stay invested in the story and want to continue reading. I would highly recommend this book if you’re in need of a good whodunit mystery book!

I enjoy this style of writing where the narrative shifts between main character, Dove Milson, and an anonymous voice. With that being said, the story line was a bit far fetched for me. Admittedly the twist is surprising, so it’s worth hanging in there.

Detective Dove Milson is called to a crime scene. A scene she has investigated before. How is it possible when that killer is dead?
A lovely lass, dead in a glass coffin, suffocated.
Than another girl goes missing.
Added to that trying to help her sister cope with the death of her daughter who was slaughtered by the murderer that is now being copycatted.
Dove's niece's body was never found.
Her work seems to be getting more complicated. She is trying to keep investigating without crossing the lines of work and family. Plus, she is trying to fix her relationship with her boyfriend.
She is determined to accomplish what she needs to. Solve the crimes and continue with a normal life.
She doesn't realize that life just became more complicated and more terrifying!
A thriller with twists and turn that leave you spinning!

What a crazy way to find a girl: murdered and stored in a glass box. This book was very entertaining and I had no idea what was going to happen next. This book has a lot of police book cliches, but I still enjoyed it.

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for my eARC for my honest review!

The story is addictive, and moves at a steady pace. And even though it involves a limited number of characters, it never gets boring. Detective Dove Milson is investigating a murder that is identical to the serial killer, Peter Hayworth. He would be the prime suspect, but there's a problem ... he's dead.

Genre-wise this is a police procedural but with a heavy dash of family dynamics thrown into the mix.
I was a very easy read that instantly captured my attention and I read this in one sitting.
I was initially drawn towards reading this on account of enjoying Cara Hunter and as this was described as in a similar vein I was interested to see if it would live up to the label attached.
I can confirm that if you like that particular author this book will be right up your street.
Here we have Dove a D.C. starting a new job after some previous traumatic events have impacted her life.
This first job after the fact brings the past right to the forefront as Dove is faced with an apparent copycat to the glass doll killer who was eventually apprehended and later died in prison, her niece was also one of his victims.
Now someone is killing girls and using the exact same MO, picking and poking at old trauma and hidden wounds.
This focuses heavily on family dynamics exploring all the hidden issues and intricacies involved in dysfunctional relationships and normal everyday interactions.
What's on the surface isn't always apparent till you dig the claws in deep exposing the rotten underbelly.
This one contained some major shockers and knocked me for a loop.
It was well written and absorbing and utterly addictive and I enjoyed it much more than I initially thought I would.
In fact, it would have been a full house but I would have liked to have delved beyond the mask when we get to the final conclusion here.
There just wasn't enough reasoning and aftermath for me to give me that closure I was after.
The whys and whatnots were missing and that bothered me somewhat.
it was anti-climactic after shocking revelations, making me feel something was missing slightly.
Still, I enjoyed this a lot and it kept my attention right to the finish and bar the above everything else for me was grand.
My first experience with this author but certainly not my last this one gets a thumbs up from me.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Glass Dolls.
