Another excellent title, which will challenge readers and writers alike. Excellent choice of protagonists and plot line that will engage all.

Enjoyable read, although I suspect that I might have missed something by not having read the previous book.. An author worth keeping an eye upon and would certainly read other publications from here.

Lost by Leona Deakin is a gripping thriller that kept me hooked from the first page.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and suspense

This is the sequel to the book ‘Gone’
This is another fast paced thriller from this author.
It kept me interested for a long time.

Having not read the 1st book in this series i was left somewhat in the dark about previoys important events from book one, so i would recommend reading the books in order.
Fast paced book with many twists and turns. Very "americanised" in some of the spy background goings on. Enjoyed it immensely. Thanks Netgalley.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

This follows on nicely from Gone and has a dramatic start. Sometimes I felt that there was too much going on in the plot as it jumped from one location and situation to another. But overall an enjoyable read.

This book started well with an explosion, a missing person, missing memories but unfortunately for me it fizzled out into a story that was so far fetched I didn’t enjoy it. Many others will enjoy this but it wasn’t for me sadly.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Absolutely amazing, love it love the writing style. When an author writes a book that makes you want to hurry home and do nothing else but read it you know you are onto a winner. Probably one of my favourite books I have read. Can’t wait for next book by this author.

I’ve read and enjoyed Gone, the first book in the series, so was keen to read the second book.

This carries on from the first book, and you definitely appreciate the relationship and characters of Bloom and Jameson more if you’ve read the first book.

The book has a dramatic start, there’s an explosion at a military ball and Captain Harry Peterson is injured. He then goes AWOL for several days, before turning up in a hospital fifty miles away, with no recollection of the last four years of his life.

Bloom and Jameson try to work out what’s happened and who is behind it all. I didn’t warm to Bloom so much in this book but still liked the characters overall.

There’s a lot going on in this book and at times I did wonder if it was too much. Sometimes I felt the story jumped too quickly to another location/situation and it took a minute to follow what was happening.
Another character from the first book makes an appearance in this book too and I wasn’t sure how likely that was.
A couple of parts I thought could have been more gripping and tense. I think because I was trying to remember who was who and how they were connected to the story, I wasn’t so gripped and involved.

Overall, the book is easy enough to read and has short chapters. It certainly held my interest and I wanted to find out what was going to happen.

I didn’t enjoy this as much as Gone but would still recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

When I first read “Gone” I was hooked; the storyline was brilliant and fascinating all at the same time. I had heard back then that this was to be a series but after the ending in “Gone”, I had no idea where it was going to go and if all the main characters would return!

But oh boy, what a change “Lost” was as the second book in the series. There were some confusing moments at the beginning that became clearer as the story went on thankfully, as I was wondering whether I had missed something important, despite having read “Gone”. That being said, I really loved the character development for Dr Augusta Bloom and Ex-MI6 agent Marcus Jameson and honestly cannot wait to read more.

Another cracking read which I whistled through in no time. I hope this series continues for as long as possible!

If you’re looking for a quick easy read that still has twists and surprises, then this series is the series for you.

Thank you to #NetGalley, #TransworldPublishers, #RandomHouseUK, and #LeonaDeakin for an ARC of #Lost in exchange for an honest review.

Having read the first book in this exciting series, I had to request the second book the minute I saw it available. It did not disappoint, I loved it and it has captured my imagination with some great twists and turns throughout. Looking forward to book 3 in the series.

I have read this authors previous book and I enjoyed this one also. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and I would read more from this author.

Many thanks to netgalley and Leona Deakin for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

Loved her first book in the series ‘Gone’ and so was excited for this one, and it was another cracking read, full of suspense and great characters I ripped through it in no time at all, thought the storyline was brilliant and the twist even better, more please!!!

Thank you to Leona Deakin and Random House Publishers for emailing me and providing me with an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the first book - Gone, about Augusta Bloom and being asked to review Lost, the next book in the series, I was left severely underwhelmed by Lost.

There are so many different aspects to the book, kidnap, memory loss, terrorism and a lot of different characters, that at times i found myself trying to work out who was who and how they all slotted into place.

Lost carries on with the aftermath of Augusta and Marcus' breakdown of trust and friendship after the fallout of the psychopath Seraphine in Gone. And i was left thinking that maybe Lost was rushed to keep the readers interest before we forgot the original storyline.

If you enjoyed Gone, i would recommend Lost, just to keep you in the loop of the storyline that is building up into a series of books

Thank you to NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review. Lost definitely had me feeling... well, lost! Sadly I don’t think this book works well as a standalone (I am of the opinion that every book should, series or not) and while I could grasp the basic fundamentals of the story well, it was relatively obviously that a lot of character and dynamic development was lost on me, leaving me with no emotional attachments as a reader. Furthermore the plot itself felt extremely far-fetched and at times convoluted; I struggled to follow or even believe the events that were happening and as a result felt quite bored or demotivated to read at times. Wouldn’t recommend but strongly suggest to read the series in order if you do!
