This book started out pretty slow for me but when it started to pick up, it REALLY picked up!! I couldn’t put it down! The end surprised me more than anything, I didn’t expect the secret to be something so wild! Highly recommend!!

Janey and her family move to a ritzy neighbourhood because of her husband’s new job. She quickly finds herself a part of a clique-ish group of mothers on the street. But Janey has a secret. And one night, after one too many glasses of bubbles (I feel you, girl), she divulges that secret to one of the other mothers, Tanya. •

The next day, Janey sees Tanya’s adolescent daughter with two older men in some sort of an altercation by a car. A body is found later and Janey is positive it’s one of the men and the same car. This book was good, but not great. It definitely wasn’t in the “gripping psychological thriller that you can’t put down” category. It took a long time to get ramp up and I was bored in between.
Throughout the story it is obvious that Janey has a secret. And that the secret was big. But once it was unveiled, it was just kind of over. I wanted more. It was a bit lack lustre for me. •

I am a big fan of KL Slater, having read and enjoyed all of her books. She is an author that I will never hesitate to read or recommend. Little Whispers is a twisty domestic thriller that will keep you guessing right until the very end. It is a book that I read quickly, caught up in what was happening

Janey is excited when her husband is offered a new job with a substantial pay increase. They move to a new, flash home in Buckinghamshire Crescent. At first she struggles to fit in with the clique of school mums, but she soon becomes friendly with Tanya down the road. Soon she feels better about herself than she has in years, and her confidence is high. One afternoon after a few glasses of wine she confides a family secret to Tanya. But nothing is as it seems on this street, and nobody is who they seem. Be careful who you trust.

I really enjoy KL Slater’s books. They are quick and easy to read. This book was no exception. For me, I am not sure if it was a thriller or more of a mystery.

After a slow start I really enjoyed Little Whispers and couldn't put it down. The ordinariness of Janey's life at first felt a little dull to read, but it's what makes the story so gripping as she gets drawn into the the awful friendship group that is the Buckingham mums. The book starts with a secret that Janey's mother tells her, and the reader is the last to find out what happened all those years ago. That makes for a page turner of a plot. There's also a cast of untrustworthy characters, a murder investigation, and a sinister sub plot. Overall another great psychological thriller from KL Slater,

As I said before, K L Slater never disappoints!

A story with many undertones that unravel in a rather timely fashion...

Janey and her husband, Isaac, (and their son, Rowan) move to an upscale neighborhood due to a job change for Isaac. Strange reactions by the family to the new place unfurl. For some reason Isaac warns Janey not to get too involved with the neighbors. Yet, it seems as if they (snooty, though!) accept Janey and her son Rowan. Isaac is constantly at work despite his assurance that he would spend more family time with his wife and son.

Add in a box from Janey's late mom that just sits there - unopened - and the story really takes off!

A wonderful read by a super author!'

Sorry to say I was slightly disappointed in this book. Not as good as her other books in my opinion.
I think Net Galley and HQN for providing this ARC for me to read.
I had trouble getting started in this book. I stuck with it and it made sense in the end. Just not a book I can recommend highly.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was hooked from the start.
The storyline was well thought out and written. The characters are compelling and you find yourself being drawn into their lives.
Worth a read

Was an overall good book. Seemed to take awhile to get into what was really going on and almost gave up on it. The ending brought it all together and glad I stuck with it. The characters were likeable. Not the best I've read from thus author.

I have always loved KL slaters books, i was so glad to be aproved to review this book. i got reading streight away. all i can say is wow! her best book yet! such a brilliant range of characters, and a brilliant little twist near the end! i red this in one sitting. can't wait for the next.

Another excellent book by this author. A stand alone novel which keeps you guessing until the end!!!

A very interesting premise, a mix of characters, a little intrigue, and a terrible secret that spans decades and still has the power to wound. This book was indeed a page turning mystery.

Llittle Whispers by KL Slater is a domestic suspense novel taking place in England. Janey is excited when her husband, Isaac, receives an offer for a new job with a huge salary increase. The new job will require them to move to a posh street, Buckingham Crescent. Upon moving into their new home, which is much larger than anything they've dreamed of living in, Janey gets to know the other moms on the street, Edie, Tanya, and Kyoko. Each of these ladies is elegant, wealthy, and a fellow mom at the school Janey's son has transferred to.

Janey grows close to one of the moms, Tanya, and confesses a dark family secret to her one night after too much alcohol. Tanya vows to keep her secret, however threatens Janey that she will expose it when Janey witnesses Tanya's teenage daughter, Angel, participating in some questionable behavior that has a connection to a murder in the area. Will Janey get to the bottom of what Angel is up to? And why is her own husband acting to strange? On Buckingham Crescent nothing is as it seems.

I enjoyed this book and found it easy to get into. One issue however, is I felt it dragged a bit in the middle. Particularly when they kept hinting about "big secrets" and sketchy behavior but pulling a bait-and-switch and not revealing the secrets to the reader. For example., the novel is told from Janey's POV however it will skip over details of Janey's secret for much of the book, which got frustrating after it happened a couple of times. Also, there is a lot of details of Janey going to work, going shopping, etc. which serve for some character development but begin to drag about halfway through the book when you just want to find out the twists/secrets.

I did not predict all the twists and was surprised at the ending - so that was great! Overall, this was an easy book to get sucked into and you will want to finish it quickly to find out what everyone is hiding!

Kim is an incredibly talented writer. In a relatively short space of time, she’s written novel after novel and each one has been brilliant! Her characters are well researched and well written, the sort lines have great twists. Can’t wait for your next one Kim!

Wow, Wow, Wow! This was a perfect read!!! I loved feeling like the characters were real and I was there with the women. I’m not too sure about the other main part of the story but it came to a nice close at the end. I really Enjoyed this fast paced book. Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture for another winner by K. L. A story about people being controlled and burdened by unfortunate secrets and to be careful who you trust. Each chapter made me want to read more and it’s hard to put it down. I assumed wrong on who’s the real antagonist on this story but I wasn’t surprise either when it was revealed. The story shows the extension of what a parent is willing to do to ensure their children wont have to go through hardships even if their ways is not good. The story also gave perfect example on being careful in trusting people and it will always be least person you think that cares who will help you in the end. I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s thrilling and wonderfully written.

Little Whispers by K.L. Slater was the first book I read by this author but certainly not the last. This book is about Janey, Isaac, and their son moving to a posh part of town called Buckingham Crescent shortly after Janey’s mother passed away. Before dying, Janey’s mother had confided in her about a terrible family secret.

In the new town, Janey meets an exclusive clique of moms at her son’s school and soon becomes part of their inner circle. She gets particularly close to Tanya, the kind of woman Janey always wished to befriend. One booze-filled afternoon, Janey opens up to Tanya about the family secret her mother had shared with her while on her deathbed. Little does she know that a series of events will unfold and Tanya will hold the secret over Janey’s head.

This was an enjoyable read for me. I would say the real action started at the 60% mark, and the first half of the book was relatively relaxed. I was beginning to wonder when things would start getting hectic as the synopsis had mentioned, but I didn’t mind it either because the author’s writing was quite fun. I honestly couldn’t help but get wrapped up in the world of Buckingham Crescent moms. K.L. Slater knows how to keep the reader engaged and interested even when the plot is light. However, when things took off, they *really* took off. After the halfway mark, I was reading anxiously with bated breath. I was so impressed with the ending and the way everything in the story was woven together. It was a truly shocking ending, and one I actually read twice because I was so surprised by it.

If you have read other books by K.L. Slater, please let me know in the comments below because I’m now a fan and would like to read the rest of them! I can’t believe I was sitting on this for so long. Definitely pick this book up if you’re game for an entertaining read.

I love this author and her ability to draw me in and keep me so engrossed that I don't want to put the book down even for a second. A very addictive and twisted read. I Highly recommend!

This is the first K L Slater book I have read and I really enjoyed it. I found it fast paced and a great read. Thank you for the advanced copy.
