This is a fast paced twisty thriller.
The characters were all untrustworthy and nothing is as it seems.
The end of the book was a huge shock.
A great read

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
Emily applies for a housekeeping job after the break up of her relationship with Harry.
Soon her and her employer Rupert are in a relationship and getting married. Rupert's first wife Caro died. Emily is convinced she is,still alive when strange things start to happen at home. She also receives text messages and notes. Someone doesn’t want her and Rupert to be happy.
I did guess quite early on who it was.
This is a very twisty psychological thriller snd certainly has you on the edge of your seat at times.
Unfortunately it lost 1 star for me when Emily received her Christmas present from Rupert and I knew what the outcome would be. I feel it is unnecessary and didn't add to the story.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for the ARC

A very enjoyable twisted thriller that kept me engaged and interested the whole way through!

I liked the characters, they were very believable and therefore made for an entertaining read all the way along.

I read a lot of thrillers and I especially do like a domestic centred one so this was exactly up my street.

Emily becomes the housekeeper for wealthy Rupert (she’s an expert at knowing what men want!) but ends up as much more. I liked the story but not the characters. Not keen on the way it was written (first person to third perspective) which confused things somewhat. Some of it was quite chilling and was edge of the seat stuff. Red herrings and twists galore to keep most people happy even though they were a bit obvious but I still enjoyed the book.

A great read, that will keep you reading until the very end. The characters were very mysterious, leaving you wanting more & the domestic relationship between the two lead characters was definitely too good to be true. I would definitely recommend this book to all readers who have not explored the thriller section yet, as there wasn't any twists or shocking moments, but it will provide you with many tense moments, leaving you at the edge of your seat.

4.5 stars
There are books that you find easy to read, predictable and maybe even boring but there are also stories that keep you on the edge throughout the novel and you want to read more with each chapter.
I enjoyed this suspenseful story quite a bit. It’s fast paced and I found the characters well depicted. The ending had me shocked though because even if the author managed to lead us to a great ending, I haven’t seen that coming my way at all and that twist definitely made my reading more enjoyable and the stars rating went up in seconds.

Many thanks to the publisher HQ for my review copy.

Yet another uncomfortable psychological thriller from the lovely Lisa Hall.

I felt anxious, concerned and unsettled as I raced through it.

Many of the characters are unpleasant and not what they appear to be, truth is mixed up with deceptions. As the story progressed I thought I could see what was happening, I had plenty of theories, some of which were correct, but the final twist of twists caught me out.

A great read- if you’re managing to get away for a few days, or even if you’re not- pop it in your bag & escape for a few hours….

I read this for a blog tour.

I'm not entirely sure which character I like the least as pretty much everyone in this book is a toxic nightmare. Which is half the fun.

Wealth and privilege give a veneer of respectability to some pretty nasty things that people living in nice houses get upto.

Emily drops her only real friend for Rupert's spoiled and narcissistic friends as soon as she can, spending her husband's money all over town, shopping as a lifestyle.

Rupert isn't as nice as he appears, constantly gaslighting her and comparing his previous wife to her.

His friends are all pretty awful. Grasping and vacuous and cruel.

But of course it's the drip, drip of poison that Emily starts to feel, the sensation of being watched, the strange things that keep happening, her growing fear about what happened to her new husband's first wife...it all builds to a serious of twists and the life they've built comes tumbling down.

Chilling and a bit creepy, these awful people deserve one another.

Wow, this is a book you won’t be able to put down. We meet Emily, who has just escaped from an abusive relationship and is living above a kebab shop with her friend Mags but she is looking to find her own life again, Rupert is a wealthy widower whose wife Caro died a year ago. He advertises for a housekeeper and Emily applies. After a few weeks Rupert asks Emily to move in and following a whirlwind romance they get married. Rupert’s friends don’t like Emily and before long she begins to think that someone is watching her as strange things begin to happen. The chapters are told by Rupert and Emily and are full of lies, secrets and deceits. This is a great psychological thriller, with a totally unexpected ending and leaves you wondering who really is telling the truth. A gripping read and highly recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have rounded this up from 3 1/2 stars to 4. I nearly gave up on this book a few times as I thought that a lot f the characters were very shallow. I am glad that I persevered. The ending was not what I was expecting and made the book a 4 star read.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

The Perfect Couple is another brilliant book from Lisa Hall that drew me in from the start, filled me with an air of trepidation throughout and left me gobsmacked at the end. Lisa Hall's imagination seems to know no bounds as she constantly comes up with amazing unique plots that shock and surprise the reader.

Newlyweds, Rupert and Emily are the perfect couple, or should that be Rupert and Caro? All of Rupert's friends tell Emily that Caro and Rupert were the perfect couple and they were all left shocked and distraught after Caro's sudden death. After a whirlwind romance, Emily transforms Cinderella-style from housekeeper to lady of the manor but there's trouble in paradise when Emily feels like someone is watching her and she receives disturbing threats. While Emily tries to work out who is threatening her, and she has a few suspects, she starts to wonder what really happened to Caro and begins to put the pieces of the jigsaw together.

So many alarm bells were going off in my head when I was reading The Perfect Couple. I'm not going to say what they were as it would spoil the plot but I was constantly questioning the motives of the characters. Some characters make decisions that seem strange and unbelievable when you consider their history but it all makes sense in the end. All of my 'why would she...' and 'why did he...' questions were answered with a big 'OH I SEE', because I totally didn't see at the time due to Lisa Hall being the Mistress of Deception.

Gripping, intriguing and twisty, The Perfect Couple is a stunning psychological / domestic noir thriller. Lisa Hall is absolutely on fire and long may it continue as her books are guaranteed page-turners and The Perfect Couple is no exception. Keep 'em coming, Lisa!

I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
