I really enjoyed the premise of this story, but I found it dragged on much longer than needed. Definitely would recommend to my thriller/mystery loving friends.
This book was long, wordy, and dragged on quite a bit. It seemed unresolved at the end as well.
I received a free copy of this book from Black Rose Writing via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.
A book that has a lot of heart! I really enjoyed reading this novel by Chuck Augello. Donatello is a very lovable character; a person who who is a survivor and spends hiis life trying to do right by the people he loves. He is so troubled and consumed with guilt at times, yet this never gets in the way of him trying to be a good person. I also found the fact that he had narcolepsy intriguing. There is a bit of a love triangle in this book, and again, I could feel Donatello trying his best not to hurt anyone unnecessarily. This book spans New Jersey and California and as a New Yorker, the backdrop and of a small New Jersey shore town rang true. Thank you to NetGalley, Black Rose (publisher) and the author for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NetGalley #TheRevolvingHeart #withhernosestuckinabook❤️📚
The Revolving Heart is quite an enjoyable read, until you get near the end, then it all falls apart. it's very open ended with little to no conclusion unless there is to be novel, if not it feels very anticlimactic.
I enjoyed this book right up to the end. However I did not like the ending! It felt like the author just stopped in the middle of the story. Everything is left open ended. I kept waiting for the main character (Donnie) to make some decisions about basic things (where are you going to live, which woman are you going to stay with, are you going to write plays or make pizzas for a living?) All was left unanswered. Maybe the author is going to follow with another book, which would be good. Without knowing what happened I feel I have wasted my time reading this.
Thanks to Net Galley for allowing me to read this arc for my honest opinion.
