I have waited a few weeks after reading this in order to write a review. That is mostly because I am not entirely sure what this book was about. I don't think I can give a synopsis since there really was not one. The big reveal at the end is not even shocking, you saw that coming as soon as you read the first pages of the book, alas this was not a terrible book. It was enjoyable, which is a skill that Radclyffe has which is why I read everything she publishes no matter what it is.

Love on the Night Shift was an entertaining book about two women who work at the River's hospital. Grady transfers in as a hotshot surgeon who is super good looking and is amazing at being a surgeon. The hate, between these two is instantaneous, they just look at each other and they don't like each other, or more specifically Grady like Blaise, but Blaise does not return those feelings. Blaise we know from the other books, but her character was not really very flushed out. This book does not really solve that problem. It goes straight from a chance meeting at the nurses desk to not being able to live without each other. The plot was very thin, there were some parties, a bit of sexual harassment, and then of course the insta love. The River's siblings make the obligatory cameo. This book is a lot more about Margie and Blake and whatever is happening there. I hope that Radclyffe writes a book with the two of them in it, it would be so cute.

If you are looking for a simple enjoyable book this is it, it is interesting, it is funny, sad, heartbreaking, and typical Radclyffe. The love scene is spectacular. This book was written, it wasn't anything that was poignant, but it was an easy way to sit for a few hours and not have to think about the horrors going on outside. As always thank you for writing Radclyffe

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review from Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley.

This is an ok read. Just a typical Rivers Hospital drama. Not good not bad, just the usual.
The 2 mc's are likeable and the dialog is normal. Im not a fan of insta love and the dramatic problem that presents itself is sort of uncomfortably odd. And seems totally unresolvable......and them wala....resolved. What? But what about, this and what about that?
Radclyffe is one of my favorite authors, but I give this one a 3.

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

Yay. Another Rivers book! Some of the characters from previous books make a cameo - which is always nice to get a glimpse of how things are going with them - but the story mainly revolves around Blaise and Grady so you could possibly read this as a standalone (but why would you, read the damned series already).

Is it predictable - a bit. Medical professional (Grady - doctor) joins the hospital, meets another medical professional (Blaise - nurse) and the sparks fly. There's a push and pull as Blaise initially tries to push Grady away, but Grady's just so damned charming and good natured that Blaise really doesn't stand a chance. The big reveal was something I saw coming a mile away and the level of angst I though was going to result from it didn't seem to really emerge. But you come to the Rivers Community to catch up with the other characters and enjoy the burgeoning romance between the new characters. Does the girl always gets the girl - yup. But it's a Rad book - and she's my guilty pleasure.

The ongoing story with Blake and Maggie continues to develop - and I do think Rad is handling it really well. She may rush her main characters in the series into the all consuming passion/romance, but she's giving Blake and Maggie a chance to come into their own, and even if they don't end up together, I can't help but rooting for both characters as they grow up as the series progresses. .

Radclyffe delivers another stellar romance with her 6th installment in the Rivers Community Romance. This series is one of my favorites she had done. If you haven't started this series, you can totally start at with any of the books, but I would go with #1 and work forward so you don't miss all character nuances.

In Love on the Night Shift, you start off meeting Blaise Richelieu. Blaise is a single mom and the emergency room night charge nurse. Blaise had her daughter at an early age and has to work her tail off to get where she is today. This defines her as a character. She works hard, she cares for others, and often times she puts her own needs second.

Grady McClure is our other leading lady. Grady is a young surgeon who was ready to break out from the family (all doctors) and start her career somewhere new, where she could thrive and be herself. Grady has never been one for a serious relationship, casual has always served her well. That way of thinking goes right out the window when she meets Blaise on the night shift.

Most of our favorite characters make a cameo in this book. I always look forward to seeing Margie and Blake and how their teen romance is going along.  Grady and Blaise are delightful characters who work their way right into your heart. This is a classic Radclyffe book, it's well written, the characters are well developed and it leaves you with a smile on the last page.

I was pleasantly surprised by this, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Was it cheesy, yes in my opinion it was, but it had good characters, and a solid storyline.

Being a fan of this series I was looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. It's a good addition to a fantastic series, with some familiar faces making an appearance. Most of all I loved the character of Grady, she was very charismatic and likeable but also human and principled. I felt the immediate attraction between the two leads was too fast, and would have appreciated a build up, especially given the book is set in a very short timespan. The big secret that was revealed in the end was predictable but made everything a lot more interesting - I wish it had been revealed sooner and the book had been centred around it, rather than the two leads meeting being a coincidence.

The writing was solid, and the sex/romance was good. But the context required a bit of suspension of disbelief because there were so many queer people who were out and open in a small town -- more than I've ever experienced anywhere except perhaps Provincetown.

I have been reading Radclyffe's books for a while. I enjoy her writing very much . The characters in this novel are well written and believable.

In the sixth book of the Rivers series we return to the small upstate New York rural community that houses Rivers Hospital. RN Blaise is busy raising her teenage daughter and doesn’t have time for romance. When Grady, the new attending surgeon, comes sweeping into her life Blaise finds it hard to ignore the dashing doctor.

I must admit I’ve been a fan of Radclyffe’s for over twenty years, from back in her X-Files fan fiction days. Her writing style is so rich with depth in each character and each situation. You fall in love with not just the main couple but with the supporting characters and the community that they make.

Radclyffe brings to life each character’s passionate nature. You can feel their strengths and their fears, transporting you into their world.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a new story from the Rivers community, the sixth in the series, which relates the romantic relationship between two women who belong to the Rivers hospital payroll, located in a rural setting in the United States. In this case, between an ER nurse and a new surgeon, from New York, who comes to the hospital to take a breather in her somewhat competitive career, marked by the family saga to which she belongs.

As usual and almost standard in Mrs. Radclyffe's formula, they feel an instantaneous and irresistible attraction, they deny it, they avoid it, they persecute it, until they finally succumb. And also in this case there is the inevitable drama at 80%, in this case not very intense and somewhat vague. Don't take this as a criticism, I'm an enthusiast and fan of Radclyffe's books, of all of them and in all her series. So it will be that this formula works for me and for many other readers, if we consider the multiple positive reviews that she has.

For me it is a sure thing, reading a Radclyffe book, so far has been so and this is no exception. I'm biased like this.

3.5 stars because I couldn't handle another paragraph more on who is picking up the kids, who are driving the kids, with whom are the kids staying. I understand many characters in The Rivers series are parents. But I feel like Radclyffe is straying too much from the adults' romantic relationships and too much unto their parenting.

Plot-wise this book was different than the others. Too bad it doesn't really go deep into Blaise and Grady's past. There is so much spend on the previous characters and the kids that it's only, in the end, we get a couple of pages about their past and how it relates to their present.

But if like me you are a fan of Radclyffe books, this one is a nice afternoon read.

I'm a huge fan of The Rivers series, and this installment has motivated me to go back to the first and reread them all in order. Each book has created a new couple, and it's nice to see some of them reprising their roles in this one. Love on the Night Shift features nurse Blaise and the hot new surgeon in town Grady, who went to med school a few years behind Flannery. Grady comes from a wealthy family of surgeons, and one of her siblings features prominently here, although I wasn't clear on how their backgrounds crossed logistically. But who cares. There's a nice plot twist near the end, and although neither Blaise nor Grady wants to give her heart away, you know it's coming. Kudos too for the strategic use of teenagers, who show us how times have changed since we were that age.

A nice, solid, entertaining story from the Queen who started it all.

This book is the latest installment of the Rivers series and bring with it some new characters working at the hospital. We are introduced to Blaise and Grady, along with Blaise's daughter, Tayler (which you will find is an interesting twist with to the story).

Radclyffe is always a go-to author for me and I have enjoyed the whole Rivers series. This story does bring Flann and Abby (and Blake/Margie) into the fold, but it centers mostly around the encounter and romance with Blaise and Grady. It was an enjoyable read, the time is is a bit short in that the whole story was around a one month time-frame-I wasn't sure if I liked or not in that how believable can it be from strangers to in-love in 6 weeks? Overall though, I found the story very sweet, some underlying tension from Blaise that you find out why just at the end, and of course your HEA. It is by no means a heavy read, and in my opinion just a bit light on dialog (heavy on what I call mind monologue), but I nice 1-2 night read.

If you want a nice light read and to re-visit the goings-on at Rivers Hospital, this is the book for you. As always I look forward to more stories from Radclyffe and appreciate her continue work both as an author and owner/publisher of Bold Strokes Books

I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, but would have written the same opinion if I had come across this author on my own.

To see my Amazon review, it is under CC-Enjoyable summer read

I do really love me a Rad book book, but this one just doesn’t hit all the right marks for me. I’m not 100% sure I’ve read all previous instalments in the Rivers Community Series, but I’ve read at least 3 other ones. Some of the characters make an appearance in this book as well, which is a nice addition to the book. As with the previous books it’s ok if you haven’t read any other books, they are pretty much stand-alone books.

The romance in this story revolves around Blaise and Grady. Blaise is the head nurse of the ER night shift of the Rivers hospital and a dedicated mom. Grady is the new surgeon in town, she is trying to step out of the shadow of her family. When they meet for the first time Blaise isn’t impressed by the easy charm and good looks of Grady, if anything she is wary of them. Grady is drawn to Blaise from the first moment she laid eyes in here and her interest spikes even more is the reserved and stand-offish, maybe even unfriendly way, Blaise is around her.

You get a good dose of Abby, Flann, Margie and Blake in this book as well, they are a nice addition and add a birth of depth. The romance between Blaise and Grady happens so quickly, way to quickly for me, it’s nice to have some depth with the other characters. The connection between Blaise and Grady seems like it was build over years of friendship and knowing each other, not some horse on a couple of days. I think that is something that doesn’t sit quite right with me, I don’t really believe in these instant connections. Don’t get me wring, it is still a nice read and I hated when when I finished the book, just because I like all the characters from this and the previous books. It’s still a good read, but the plot is easily guessed and the romance too quick.

Radclyffe can be counted on to always deliver a satisfying love story with angst, heartache, passion and secrets. Love On The Night Shift was no exception. There are sparks, a past laden with more baggage than an airport and well-developed characters with believable hang-ups.

A very satisfying book, perfect to read as you snuggle beneath the blankets.
Many thanks to Rad, Bold Strokes Books and Netgalley for the ARC, in exchange for my honest opinion!

Love on the Night Shift. Book six in the Rivers Series. An enjoyable romance that keeps on giving. I had a hard time putting this book down. From the first page to the last I was captured. The main characters are very likable and it was fun revisiting old characters as well. Great chemistry, great story and a great read. I highly recommend.

Radcliffe is always reliable for easy to get into stories and really great characters. This book is no exception, from the Rivers community romance series centred around a rural community hospital in upstate New York. Part of the joy of this series is the Rivers family with 4 daughters, 2 lesbians and one questioning who are heavily involved in the hospital. They are the centre of the community and at the heart of the books and it is calming to read about their close family mealtimes full of teasing and holding each other accountable. This book cover the story of Grady a friend of Flann Rivers who comes to work at the hospital as a hotshot surgeon and meets Blaise the ER charge nurse who runs the night shift. Their stories are outlined in typical Radcliffe style with care, thought and total believability. Their is the inevitable bump in the road which you see coming but is resolved with swiftness that we can only aspire to in real life. Totally enjoyable and much needed relaxing read right now.

With thanks to Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review of the story.

Radclyffe never disappoints - this is a story of chemistry, passion and restraint.

Grady can't stop thinking about Blaise

Blaise would rather think about antone, anything than Grady.

Just when it looks like girl gets girl, a 16 year old secret threatens their new found love.

I highly recommend this book.
