Two diametrically opposed characters - Krysta is a surgeon who lives to work abs is admired through the research and medical community for her work. Francisco is also a talented surgeon but he is known as being a playboy rather than for his surgical skills. She is on a work placement on Brazil when Francisco hears she is there and meets here. Slowly chemistry develops between the pair and Krysta comes out of her academic bubble. They reveal their secrets but will they be able to build a relationship?
A new author to me, and I will look for more books by her. It was an easy read, with an engaging romance developing. A realistic medical background was a bonus.
The first book I’ve read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it and was left wanting more! The author has a good story line with strong interesting characters which altogether made a really good read. I couldn’t put it down!mu
I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
I read this in one sitting - a great quick read
One for a lovely sunny afternoon sitting in the garden - which is what I did !!
Really liked the characters and the story was great
An enjoyable romance with a strong plot, likeable characters and a love story you can really become invested in. The plot is well structured, and the author has clearly done her research on the complex world of facial reconstruction, alothough the big surgery did seem to overtake the developing relationship between Krysta and Francisco at one point, but thankfully, the characters were allowed to return to the focus of the story and form a connection with each other that, as a reader, you wanted to succeed as a happy ending.
I did get the impression there may have been a previous book to this which focussed on some of the secondary characters, or maybe it’s coming up as plots were hinted at, but then not followed up, but, overall, I really enjoyed the story and the way it was told.
A diverse location complex characters and well researched medical detail make this romance worth reading. The well-described setting and two easy to empathise main protagonists draw the reader into their story.
Krysta is a brilliant surgeon whose work is her life. Franciso is also a talented surgeon. His background looks and past attract more attention than his medical skills. Their attraction intensifies naturally in this gently paced romance. The cast of characters is believable and enhances the main romantic story.
The gentle romance overcomes the external and internal conflicts realistically to achieve the happy ever after the couple deserves.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon in return for an honest review.
This book was interesting, looking into a world I didn’t know much about, that or reconstructive facial surgery and the innovations that have happened over time
Krysta is an incredibly bright surgeon and brilliant who dedicated her life to her research and her job but when she is on a teaching placement in Brazil she starts to see things in a different way. Krysta develops a lot over the course of the book and it’s good to see how she becomes more confident and happy within herself
Francisco almost hero worships Krysta and was desperate to get an introduction to her when she first came to Brazil. He is a dedicated surgeon with a playboy reputation but his fascination with Krysta makes him interesting and his perspective shows him becoming more natural as time goes by
I will admit that there was something I really struggled with with this book, I’m not quite sure what but I struggled to bond with the characters, however I have loved other books by this author so maybe I’m just having a bad day!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a book which focuses on character development and the importance of being yourself with a fascinating medical background
I found this story slow in parts, however overall an enjoyable easy read.
When visiting Doctor Krysta Simpson meets Francisco she is immediately attracted to him, but as she is only visiting she doesnt want to let herself get too involved.
Francisco has a reputation eversince he broke up with his fiance, and is worried that Krysta will believe the rumours and not want to get to know him.
As Krysta slowly starts to come out of her shell she finds herself drawn ever more to Francisco, but will they be able to reveal their true feelings to each other before its too late.
I enjoyed this medical romance, but was left wanting to know more about some of the characters (I'm hoping they will have their own books).
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for this review.
I enjoyed this story - very different from so many of the usual Mills and Boon's books in that the story simply followed a growing, mutual attraction between Franciso and Krysta. There were few false obstacles towards true love and everything worked out rather well. However, the denouement happened far too fast and the book would have benefitted from an epilogue.
I enjoyed the adult, logical behaviour from both of them and was happy when they found their happy ever after. A few secondary characters appeared in the story making me think they would have their own books. I'd be keen to find out what happens next for them. I must say though that trailing an interesting story and abandoning it halfway through the book is really frustrating. (Amy and Roque, and Jake Porter and his nephew.)
My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. 4 stars
