Unusually for a Dare book, this story didn't begin with the couple but Grace and her friends as they make a pleasure pact on a night out. Grace travels to Fiji and meets Ryan. Grace's initial encounter with Ryan is steamy and sets the scene, for what follows. Neither reveals their true identities at first. When they do, the emotional connection deepens.

The setting is idyllic. It complements the sensual romance perfectly.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

When Grace breaks up with her fiance weeks before her wedding she makes a pact with her best friends to go on her honeymoon alone and have a romance to remember.

When she gets to Fiji she meets Ryan - the hot paddleboarding instructor...or so she thinks. Ryan is actually the billionaire, island and Hotel owning man of her dreams.
The story is told from both their points of view which was a good touch, as you got to see both their perspectives. I liked the relationship and wanted them to work it out.
This is a really good summer read

Received as an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

I rather enjoyed this story of Grace and Ryan and their journey to a happy ever after, but I found the first chapter an endlessly boring stroll as I waited for the main story - Grace and Ryan's to get started.

I get that this was setting up the trilogy, but I found that far too much time was wasted and the scene-setting could have been done much more effectively if shortened by half. I think other Dare writers are much better at getting the story started swiftly and then focusing on the character development and main storytelling.

I wasn't altogether convinced as to why Ryan was so cynical about love but I found him much more interesting than Grace who seemed particularly undeveloped as a character for most of the book, and I would have liked a scene with his grandmother at the end to illustrate how his mind was working.

I thought the sex scenes were well written. I enjoyed this book; it was a pleasant read for an afternoon's relaxation, but I didn't like it as much as other Dare writers.

Firstly, thank you to @millsandboonuk for this ARC of Bad Business via @netgalley. This is one of the 4 ebooks in Mills and Boon’s May 2020 Dare Collection.

Bad Business is all about Grace Metcalf and Ryan Dempsey. The pair meet at a holiday resort in Fiji. Reading this during lockdown really made me long for a holiday! The author really brought the resort to life with the descriptive narrative and I could practically feel the sun on my skin and the cocktail in my hand!

The two characters have chemistry from the beginning. Grace, hot on the heels of agreeing to the “pleasure pact” with her friends boldly steps out of her comfort zone and so her liaison with Ryan begins almost immediately.

The story takes place over the short period of time Grace spends at the resort. The narrative is dual POV which I felt complimented the quick time frame the story was set within as you get to know each character independently. Neither character divulges their full identity to the other, and while you know it’s bound to cause problems between them at some point with both learn the truth the way you get swept up with their romance overcomes it.

I haven’t read a Mills and Boon book for soo long but after reading this I’m definitely going to read more of the Dare collection.

Another cracking, seductively, sexy, erotic romance, from a great publisher, series and author you know you can trust to deliver the goods.

Love found, denied, yearned for, recognised and admitted to, that will have you wishing to get to the end of this romantic, emotionally tender story, whilst also hoping that the tale is longer so the enjoyment doesn't stop.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story.

I loved this story!

It was a very easy to read, there was one plot to the story and it was a case of start it and away you go, I do like books that are focussed and have one strong plot line.

This book had it all for me on a sunny day, I really enjoyed being able to read it in the sun, I could completely relax reading it. The book was well developed and it had a great plot.

There were good characters and it was good romantic story - it is 5 stars from me!
