Like other books in this series, it is a fun little introduction to inspiring people. Definitely a great way to introduce kids to biographies and a nice read for adults too. I would recommend all the books in this series.
A great contemporary focus for this book. I have enjoyed a number of books in the ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’. This book is no exception, with an inspirational story of Greta Thunberg paired with engaging illustrations.
This is a great book for children to learn about Greta Thunberg and her fight for the future of the next generation. I will definitely use this book as a tool to teach my 2nd grade students about global warming and taking care of our planet.
Another great addition to the series! My cubs love these books and often want to learn more about the people discussed. Perfect for any child's library and for classroom use!
Another important individual from recent days,so worthy of her place in this wonderful series of books. Little People, Big Dreams.
Although Greta was just a young girl when she changed her own lifestyle she was a product of a family that believed in green, environmental issues.
Hopefully, adults reading this to their young people will see what a positive influence our actions can have on the future generations. Although Greta came to see the damage of CO2 emissions and global warming she was concerned by the lack of a common struggle taken up by her peers.
She was diagnosed with a condition associated with Aspergers and she became less communicative.
Yet she turned her medical situation to her advantage seeing things clearly in her mind and less inclined to worry about any distractors or their criticism.
By the time she was fifteen she demonstrated that actions are more forcible than words. Taking a homemade sign she sat outside her parliament building to silently protest against government inaction against the threat of global warming. This Friday event, choosing to make a political protest rather than go to college changed attitudes almost overnight as other students joined her in Sweden and around the world as Fridays became student days of collective protest.
This worldwide action has begun to make a difference and it is good to be reminded how it began with the courage and conviction of Greta Thunberg.
Sadly, I was unable to download this book in time before it was archived and this I was not able to either read or review it. My apologies.
Greta Thunberg by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another release in the Little People, Big Dreams series, which I have reviewed frequently on here. I just love these little books. They are always packed with facts about the person who they are writing about and full of colourful illustrations throughout.
This latest book called Greta Thunberg by aria Isabel Sanchez Vegara will not disappoint.
"When young Greta learned of the climate crisis, she stopped talking. She couldn't understand why people in power were not doing anything to save our Earth. One day she started protesting outside the Swedish Parliament, creating the "School Strike for Climate." Soon, lots more young people joined her in a global movement that shook adults and politicians alike. She had found her voice and uses it to inspire humans to action with her powerful message: "No one is too small to make a difference."
I am so glad these books are being published and I highly recommend all of these books
Many thanks to Frances Lincoln Children’s Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Little People Big Dreams books are important and Greta Thunberg inspires children to stand up for what is important to them and do what is right.
Greta Thunberg is an inspiration to everyone ---- be it a child of 8 or an old person of 80. This book is a pictorial biography of one of the most celebrated child leaders and environmental activists of this century - GRETA. Here is a person , who decided "enough is enough" and has stood up for Mother Earth. She practices what she preaches. Her parents are her source of encouragement, in a world filled with political leaders who call climate change crisis "a hoax".
This picture book beautifully illustrates Greta's journey so far. I loved the pictures of diverse people in the audience --- be it in the classroom or large auditorium . The story is concise and informative. It allows young readers to discover how Greta began her activism and how as a person with Asperger's syndrome, she views the world around her.
This is a great addition to the " Little People, Big Dreams" series and I hope many people pick this one up!
MORE POWER TO GRETA! MORE POWER TO SUCH BOOKS!
The Little People, Big Dreams series of books are great for young readers, and Greta Thunberg is no exception. The illustrations and story telling make it easy and fun for young readers to learn about influential people throughout history.
I especially liked this addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series. Greta is the best example I can think of to demonstrate the power of a single person, and she did so as a teenager; in addition, she has Asperger syndrome and selective mutism, showing kids you can have what others think are disabilities and still make a difference, how could children not be inspired by her? The artwork is especially vibrant and colorful, and all the nature elements are a nice touch to go with Greta's message.

Another beautiful installment in the stunning Little People, Big Dreams series. This book is all about Greta Thunberg, the teenager who started the School Strikes for Climate Change on her own that have now become a worldwide phenomenon through word of mouth and a desire for Governments to take action on Climate Change. This book is beautifully illustrated, and Greta is an inspiring young woman.
The Little People, Big Dreams series is one of my favorites to recommend to children at my library and Greta Thunberg is another great addition. The illustrations are incredible and the book opens up a conversation with young readers about the climate crisis. Fantastic and timely read!
This is an inspirational story about Greta Thunberg who is a child from whom we could all learn so much. This is such a well written account, it is easy to follow and has so much to teach any reader. I cannot wait to read it to my class in September.
This Little People, Big Dreams book tells the story of climate activist Greta Thunberg and how she became who she is today. The illustrations are wonderful, and all who read this and become introduced to Greta will be in awe.
This is such a remarkable series. I already purchased some of the volumes for my library.
And I am sure going to buy more.
With this books you got that chance to get to communicate even with small children about some real and special people.
And in times likes these it is so important to teach our kids that there have been people, with ideas and dreams who worked hard and get the job done, no matter what.
I really, really love those books and I love working with them and bring some kids to dream of what they can accomplish if the only try.
So thank you for letting me read those.
When Greta Thunberg began learning about the devastating effects of climate change and global warming have on the Earth, her world changed and she began to change the world! #earthday
Greta and her family stopped eating meat and they stopped traveling by airplane! But Greta knew it would take more than her family to make change. So she began protesting in front of the Swedish Parliament to inform politicians of the urgency of addressing global warming. Other students began to join her. Soon students from all around the world began holding similar protest as well! This resulted in the first world strike against global warming, the biggest environmental protest ever!
Greta Thunberg shows us that small changes can have a huge impact! And collectively we can address climate change and global warming! We are seeing the impact in real time as the levels of air pollution have dramatically declined! Air quality has improved, and skies that were once smog filled and hazy have cleared! This is the result of reduced travel by vehicles and airplanes in just the past couple of months!
Another wonderful offering in the Little People Big Dreams Series, this time about a figure from the present, who I'm sure will become a figure studied in history classes in the future.
Telling the story of Greta Thunberg's early life and some of the influences that led her to begin her school strike and to travel the world, this short biography offers an insight into the girl many will have heard about.
As always, the short biography is accompanied by clear pictures which complement the words on the page. The book adds with information about possible further reading and I like that the list includes a fiction book based on her story in 'Greta and the Giants'.
I will definitely consider adding this to our selection in school. It would be a great addition to our Year 6 topic on 'Crimes Against Nature' which explores some of the human impact on the environment.
I received an eARC of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Another great addition to this series! It's important to have a great selection of current activists as well as past activist to paint a fuller picture. I really liked the information and how Greta's story was laid out. This is the first one in the series where I really didn't enjoy the art, I felt like the lines were slightly too harsh or sharp even. Overall still a good read!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC for an honest review.
An excellent addition to this series of biographies! Love the illustrations in particular. Will definitely recommend this title to young readers at the library.
