There was very little chance of me not enjoying this book – therefore it feels necessary to begin this review with a disclaimer. I have read more than 20 books by Nalini Singh in about 18 months, I love what she does with her world building and I nearly always adore the couple she centers in each of these books. I am in no way impartial. But, if like me you enjoy these books (or if you like romance and interesting sci-fi-esque fantasy worlds and haven’t read any of her books, I really recommend you remedy that!), you will be pleased to hear that her latest (the 19th full-length novel in her Psy-Changeling universe) is as great as we all hoped.

Singh explores a new dynamic here with a mating at first sight and while this for sure is not my favourite trope, I thought she pulled it off. Ethan and Selenka are an interesting and believable couple and I bought into their relationship immediately. They are, however, not my favourite and I enjoyed the parts concerned with the larger political developments more. I am very excited to see where Singh takes the story next as this book indicates some far-reaching changes. I have said so before but it is worth saying it again: if this series wasn’t primarily romance focussed, Singh would be one of the authors always recommended when impeccable world-building is discussed.

It's hard to find a Nalini Singh's book that is not entertaining and engrossing, this one was no exception.
Even if it's the first I read in the Psy-Changeling series I had no great issues with the plot or the characters.
I loved the world building, the well rounded characters and the plot that flows.
It was an exciting read and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This was my first book by Nalini Singh and I realised too late that this was a book mid series!

Although it was confusing to begin with it didn't take me long to settle in. I will however read the rest of the series and then come back to Alpha Night as things probably went over my head in this book that I would only understand if I had read the others!

This is a great insta love story typical of the mate trope and it was certainly one of the more entertaining ones!

This is my first experience with this Psy-Changeling Trinity series and l had no problem jumping straight in.
The E’s after a lifetime of Silence are having for the first time to deal with Emotions. To Changeling’s emotion is everything it is the beating heart of their packs.
Ethan is an Arrow kept a prisoner since 6 years old. He has no feelings of friendship or trust to his team until his bond clicks into place with Selenka Alpha Wolf of the BlackEdge pack in Russia. Can Ethan so traumatised by his experiences connect with Selenka and through her begin to live again.
Ethan believes his shields so long held are failing and the power been held back is uncontrollable.
This is a good book to follow our leads and see how strong they both make each other, they will be ready to take on all who live in the shadows. There are also plenty of ahh moments with the young wolf’s.
I will certainly like to read other books in the series.
I was given an Arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Loved this book.

Ethan is a very damaged arrow and Selenka the strong alpha of the BlackEdge wolf pack in Moscow. They meet at a Symposium for the E designation, the security aspects of which exasperate Selenka and when an attack happens, her fears are realised Ethan helps deal with the attack - we haven't seen his type of power before and it's such a cool one! - and shortly after that, Selenka's wolf claims Ethan as its mate. Mate at first sight is more of a soap opera device than reality, but as the story unfolds we find out there's good reason in this case …

I liked Selenka, she was strong, a little damaged by her relationship with her parents, but bruised rather than scarred thanks to her grandfather, the then alpha. She has the strength Ethan needs to be able to lean on as their mating and the threats progress, but she also needs to lean on him a little too, so the relationship isn't unbalanced. Ethan is so badly scarred, and with his abilities, no wonder. But, over the course of the story, he is also able to develop emotionally, and build his relationship not just with Selenka but also with her pack. Their relationship develops as they both give to and take from the other, supporting when needed, recognising each other's strengths as they turn their mating at first sight into a loving, lasting relationship.

This book is well written and flows along at a good pace. The wolves aren't as party loving as the bears and I did miss the cute tiny gangsters, but the wolves determination to live focusing on being happy in future, despite mourning the heavy loss they suffer early on in the book, was a lesson in itself. There are several plot threads developed during the book - Blaise, Ethan's mental difficulties, Selenka's relationship with her father specific to this book and resolved; Scarab Syndrome, the problems on the PsyNet and the Architect all progressed a little and carrying on to the next in the series. I thought the problem in the PsyNet Ethan and Memory spotted smacked a little of needing to find another problem for our heroes to overcome, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. Usually I don't enjoy drawn out issues that continue for a whole series, but in this case it is sufficiently obvious which will be resolved and which won't so I didn't have a problem with it.

At the heart of this book is Selenka and Ethan's relationship and it's a good one. I loved that Ethan is happy to support Selenka's strength (knight to her Queen) without feeling it diminished him. They take the mating fate has given them and work together to build a strong, loving, lasting relationship.

This is the latest in the Author's Psy-Changeling series and is one of my favourites

We are introduced to Arrow Ethan Night , abused and tortured as a child , now a fractured Psy .
Entrusted with security at the Empathic Collective Symposium in Blackedge wolf territory he meets his destiny - Wolfe Alpha Selenka ……………. the mating bond between the two instantaneous .
Destructive forces are at work and it is only by using his unique skills that an assassin , a subverted E , is captured before her bomb explodes with dire consequences to all within the hall .
Who has managed to subvert the E ? how many others are there ?
Is the attack connected to The Architect ?
Traitors can come from within ,as well as without - from the most unlikely sources ……………
Selenka and Ethan are determined to explore their mating bond before his shields collapse , and he is turned from protector to murderer ………. can they find help , ? is he really a Scarab ?
All the while the Net is collapsing more frequently , thousands are dying ………… is it natural or is someone influencing/causing the damage ? Can it be saved ?

This is an entertaining Psy-Changeling novel , it explores the relationship between a strong female Alpha and a fractured Arrow …………….. I loved how they manage to support each other against the odds whilst their relationship grows .
Where will the next novels take us with the ever expanding storyline ……….. I await the next book with anticipation

I adore Nalini Singh and this series is one of my favourites, I was so excited to be approved for this ARC as I have it preordered also. I am even more ecstatic that it was amazing, I completely and obsessively love this, and that equally applies to Ethan (my new book boyfriend) he is amazing, so devoted, just want him to be real! I love Selenka too, so great to see a female alpha that is strong, but also Full of empathy and caring. Sizzling chemistry, great romance and action. A brilliant addition to this series and one I’ll be rereading definitely (again and again)

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

This was another masterpiece by Nalini Singh. Normally in the Psy/Changeling- Series you get a couple and you follow them through their struggles and then they become mates. This time you get a mating at first sight between the Alpha of the BlackEdge Wolfes and a completely unknown Arrow named Ethan with a very unique set of skills.
I won't get into his abilities and why we haven't met him before because of spoilers, but what I can say is that I absolutely adore Ethan, with his utter devotion to Selenka. He accepts she is an Alpha and does everything to support her.
I was also excited to finally have a female Alpha and Selenka showed how badass she was while still being able to be compassionate.
This book is really unique. The entire story takes place in just 3 or 4 days and these few days pack a punch. The Psy-Net is still crumbling and the Architect does not back down either. And that last line...whoa.
And there were so many great moments that I am just not able to talk about all of them.
So all in all Alpha Night is amazing addition to the Psy/Changeling Series and I can't wait for the next book!

I'm a huge fan of the psy changeling series and this book confirmed it. So good. After Valentin, I was curios about Selenka, a female alpha! I swear, she might be my favorite alpha (sorry Hawke). She's strong, and lethal, and she has the biggest heart, she's the first protector of her pack. (and no one question her status, because we have intelligent characters here.) And Ethan, I was so invested in his story, the way Nalini keeps going back to the arrow squad, underlining how important they are as a group and as individuals, and the way she always creates a new, original and deep character, it's beautiful. And their relationship? Perfect. The story of two strangers starting to trust each other, to know each other. to learn how to rely on each other.

The next development in Nalini Singh's world of Psy-Changelings and it is a cracker. It could be read as a stand alone as it introduces new characters, but is very much part of a series as old favorites are weaved into the storyline.
Ethan Night is a damaged Psy Arrow who abused as a child is now a cold and distant adult. Selenka Durev is a passionate, strong alpha wolf Changeling who leads one of the strongest wolf packs in Moscow area. They meet at conference were both are running security and the attraction between them is instant. Selenka and Ethan forge a mating bond at first sight - something usually only found in their worlds fiction, but a wolf knows what a wolf wants!
Strong leads with sizzling sexual tension but built on the firm basis of importance of family, friendships, loyalty, love and trust..Fabulous expansion of this world.

Alpha Night just reiterates why Nalini Singh is the Queen of Paranormal Romance. I've always loved her Psy-Changeling novels and this novel just reinforces that love. This novel features Selenka, alpha of the BlackEdge wolves and Ethan, an Arrow that seems even more broken than the average Arrow. As always Nalini Singh's characterisation is fantastic. I always finish her novels with a smile on my face. I really enjoyed getting to know the BlackEdge wolves. It's nice that the psy-changeling-trinity series explores more changeling packs.

On a side note, I loved Nikita Duncan's brief appearance and I really want a Nikita book one day.

Alpha Night is my new favorite book from Nalini Singh. I loved getting to know the BlackEdge wolf pack and their alpha Selenka and to know for the first time the Arrow, Ethan.

Nalini does a fantastic job describing them and their past. The two main characters have a new relationship dynamic than others previous characters had and I loved the new and rare, mating at first sight that happened with those two. As I normally not a fan of the whole love at first sight, I was surprise that I love the mating thing here, which I shouldn’t as I love every book that Nalini has written so far and she always manages to surprise me.

The pace in this book is faster than previous book, as I loved how Nalini managed to that and didn’t feel rushed and for me this paced worked (although I did stay up until 5am reading) .

In this book we also get a little insight in The Architect, and although Nalini doesn’t reveal who that person is, we to get some clues in who it is.

Can’t wait to see about what the next book brings.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this review copy. This review is my own. I have loved Nalini Singh books for years now- Kiss of snow is my favourite. What Singh does here is different to her previous novels in the series as not only does the mating happen almost immediately but it happens to an Alpha wolf female. While we have had dominant female changelings before, we have not seen what a mating would be like for an Alpha female. Ethan is the perfect mate for her, supporting her as she leads her pack. A few favourite characters appear in cameos and we meet some new ones that I would like to see more off. Can’t wait to read the next novel.
