A good introduction to the life of Gandhi. Fun and quick read. A great way to get children interested in a historical figure. I love how they include some book titles if the reader wants to learn more about him.
I really love this series, and I think this would be perfect to use in the classroom when discussing the history of India and Mahatma Gandhi in general! I think many pupils aren't are of the fact that he was a lawyer, and the way the story is told makes it really easy to understand! Would really recommend this one!
This was a cute book with beautiful illustrations that told Gandhi’s story in a way that was easy to understand for young kids. I even learned a few things about his life.
I adore the Little People, Big Dreams collection of books. This one about the extraordinary life of Mahatma Gandhi is also a delight to read. The beginning of the book is perfect for very young children and outlines his beginnings, his beliefs and how he lived his life. It is beautifully illustrated and explained with simple language. At the end there is a concise timeline of his life and photographs. Thank you to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, Albert Arrayas, Net Galley and the publisher, Frances Lincoln for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is another great book to add to the Little People, Big Dreams collection!
I love this series as they are perfect introductions to young people about some of the most famous and influential people from our past and present and are also a reminder about how these people have also changed our history.
5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended and can't wait for my daughter to get involved in the series and for me this book is a much for any children's library
My 5 year old son loves the 'Little People Big Dreams' books and I adore reading them to him! This book on Ghandi was one of my favourites. It tackled complex themes of racism, colonialism and political activism in an approachable way for children. The illutrations were beautiful as always and both my son and I loved learning about such an important figure in history.

I love the idea of a children’s book about an important person as a child. The idea that the character in the book is a child just like the reader, and that he grew up to make a big difference in the world is very powerful. This series is a wonderful way to spark interest in learning more about exceptional people.
The cover and illustrations throughout the book are eye-catching and appealing. The title character, Ghandi, is easily identifiable, even as an adult. However, only the first two pages show Ghandi as a child. I expected the majority of the book to be about the child, since that is what children will relate to. Especially in a board book, which is for very young children.
The story of how Ghandi became Mahatma (great soul) is interesting to me as an adult, but I don’t feel that the way it is told here would hold a small child’s interest. The text is appropriate for middle grade, not a board book. I love that there are games and other extras that enable further learning about the subject.
Another great "Little People, BIG DREAMS" book and what a treat it was! Beautifully illustrated, easy to read and a joy to behold - I absolutely recommend to get a printed hardback! A treat for a child (or an adult!). Important topics gently introduced to a young mind. Impressive.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of the book for free in exchange for a fair review.
Another beautifully illustrated book in this collection. A really important story to tell to all children. I really can't wait to see features in this series next
Another excellent book for this excellent collection that I have been reading from the beginning. I really think these books should be mandatory reading for kindergarten students!
This was a lovely bitesize look at the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who I admittedly didn't know an awful lot about.
Now I know more, I can better appreciate all he accomplished in life, for the better treatment for people, and his promotion of fairness, kindness, and ultimately: Peace, particularly in India, where Britain had control.
I am really enjoying this series of biographies and I think they would definitely appeal to young children in both school settings and at home.
Illustrations and presentation are, once again, a delight.
Mahatma Ghandi, born in India and educated in Great Britain, became a symbol for civil rights in India and South Africa. He used peaceful protests to inspire people from around the globe.
This book describes Mahatma Ghandi’s life in detail, but in easily understood language for children. The illustrations are well done.
As an educator, I would recommend this book to children to see that they can do big things. Everyone can make a difference.
Thank you to the Quarto Group and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Mahatma Gandhi by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series for children. This is the story of Gandhi, a very inspirational man, who led non-violent protests and helped Indian people fight against discrimination. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my digital copy.
I really enjoyed this book as I had recently read a biography on Ghandi in We Are Power. I find his life fascinating and the basic imagery that is used in these books works well to tell his story. This is a great introduction to Ghandi's bravery, kindness, and selfless-ness.
Board Book
I received an electronic ARC from Quarto Publishing Group through NetGalley.
Part of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series.
Introduces toddlers to this series. Told in simple words to present Gandhi's life. Maintains the content from the series for elementary level.
Another great book in this series. This is the second we've read and loved. These books are a great intro to famous people and what they stood for. This book led to more questions from my kids-in the past that led to more questions and a desire to research and understand more. This will be the same!
This is a beautiful book that will be perfect in the hands of young readers. It captures the life story of Gandhi and how he used peaceful efforts to make big changes, and empower the Indian people. The illustrations are lovely, and the color scheme is perfect for attracting the attention of the smallest of readers. This series has become a household favorite, and this is a wonderful edition to the growing collection.
I received this e-ARC from NetGalley for an unbiased review. Review additionally posted to Goodreads.
Having recently read the book in this series about Greta Thunberg I see many similarities between her and Gandhi. Each of them saw injustice and sat quietly in the way.
When I was young I loved reading books about countries overseas, and following a world leader's story is a great way to start understanding history as well as geography. The simple colourful drawings help us to see the different societies, while the story can't possibly reflect all that happened in a short book, it does give a great start and basic information.
This would be a great class read or family discussion point. Any reader 6 - 10 would be interested, younger if parents are reading with the children.
I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley. This is an unbiased review.
I really enjoyed this little book. Gandhi’s story really empowers young ones today. It’s beautifully written and illustrated! Definitely recommend.
My favourite Little People Big Dreams book to date. Very interesting facts about Gandhi for little people. The illustrations are fab as always.
