The content is quite straightforward, it is essentially some great high definition pictures of Elephants put together in a relevant fashion. These photographs are accompanied by some salient features of Elephants and other tidbits of interesting facts. There is majesty in these animals like in few others, there are quite a few pictures of babies with their mothers and those are especially gorgeous. 

I would love to own this to display in a prominent place at home, if and when I have a setup which would facilitate that. 

I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my response to those photographs. I read a digital copy but I think they would shine even better in actual paperback/hardcover format since there are many double-page pictures.

This is such a beautiful and informative book!

Elephants is 200+ pages of beautiful photographs of elephants along with facts about them. When I saw this book on Netgalley, I couldn’t resist requesting it because I think elephants are awesome. Not only are the photographs beautiful and high quality but I also learned so much from this book. The book discusses different types of elephants, features of elephants, their behavior, and elephant babies.

Overall, this was a beautiful and informative book. I totally recommend this book to anyone who likes elephants, is interested in learning more about elephants, or if you just love looking at elephant photographs.

Much as these publishers did with their book on tigers, they have carefully prepared a wonderful portfolio of pin-sharp photos of the book's subject, and added copious captions, that add up to a really pleasant, visual yet educational coffee-table book. You may well not have realised how many differences there are between African and Asian elephants, but quite a few are here, amongst the general information we get. The aww-factor the babies provide make this a book for all the family, matriarch on down, so if you have even a glancing interest in heffalumps, I'd strongly consider this volume. Read through as a book, the captions do tend to get a little repetitive at times, but it's still a success. Four stars at least.
