This was a captivating read for the most past. I hadn't read anything from Ruth Heald before and I certainly enjoyed this. Beth, one of the lead protagonists, is a couples counsellor. She enjoys her job and is good at helping others. Unfortunately however some of her skills are needed at home also as her own marriage is in trouble. Danielle is one of her clients. Danielle's marriage is in trouble and she reaches out to Beth for help. A while ago Danielle went through a traumatic even which left her partially disfigured and her marriage, in her eyes, hasn't been the same since then. The story is told from the point of view of both of these women, who are very different characters yet who contribute in equal parts to the fast paced plot which surprised me multiple times throughout with the array of twists and turns. I really enjoyed this book. I give it 4 stars.

This book was exceptional. I loved the characters! Danielle was very mysterious for why she needed a therapist and how things didn't add up with her until the end when the story came together. Beth is a great character, you feel bad for her and what she is going through and hope she gets a better outcome, which in the end I think she did but it wasn't an easy road. I think the story overall was amazing, and the mystery kept going until the end. At times I thought some characters were a little evil and the you want to label them the bad one but you can't because you can understand why they are being evil or doing evil actions. I will definitely read more of her books, I enjoyed her writing and really enjoyed this book! Thank you Netgalley for the chance to receive a copy of this read!

‘I Know Your Secret’ is told in alternate chapters by the two main characters, Beth a therapist whose husband Richard is leaving her and their four-year-old son Charlie, and her new client Danielle whose marriage is experiencing problems and who bears the scars of the fire in which her father died.

This is a well-written psychological thriller and although a slow starter, as the tension increased it's impossible to put down. The character of Beth was realistic and her desire to help Danielle and her husband Peter understandable and true to life. As the story continued the twists and turns became more frequent until the final chapters were reached and the conclusion was tense, dramatic and totally unexpected. This novel is well worth spending time reading and I can recommend it.

Wow! This book is fantastic!

I always appreciate a suspenseful page turner and this book fit the bill! The character development was phenomenal - I really felt like these were real, flawed, wounded women.

I loved the short chapters and alternating points-of-view. I also appreciate that this book didn’t contain any gory scenes or over the top language.

Overall, a really fun read that will definitely capture your attention! I’m so excited to explore more of the author’s books!

As far as psychological thrillers go, this a book has everything - multiple narrators, unreliable narration, hidden secrets. It might not have been literature for the ages, but is worth 5 stars in its genre. Really good read!

This book is QUITE THE PAGE TURNER! I couldn't put this one down. It is a fast story that keeps the reader intrigued. The main characters are Beth, her son Charlie, and her spouse Richard. Beth is a counselor and has taken on Danielle and her husband Peter for marital counseling. In the beginning of the book you learn that Danielle was involved in a fire in which her father died. But who really started the fire? And then there’s the thought that Beth is being stalked and weird things start happening in her home. The story is told from alternating viewpoints of Beth and Danielle. The tricky thing about this book is that it was difficult for me to keep the two viewpoints straight. Both Danielle and Beth were having marital issues and character situations were slightly similar. Thus this is why I gave it 4 stars. Some of the plot twists I did see coming, others were totally unexpected. The lives of the 2 female characters become so intertwined in the story that it really added to the story line and kept you guessing. I also appreciated that the ending had a nice resolution to it. I would like to mention there is a trigger warning in this book if you’ve ever dealt with difficulty getting pregnant or wanting a baby. Overall, great read and thoroughly enjoyed it!

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I had a hard time rating this one because it starts off as a 5 star for me. I loved the style of writing, short chapters switching from Beth to Danielle. I didn’t want to put it down. Whenever I read mysteries I try to figure out what’s going on...and early on I had some of this one predicted correctly. So for much of the book I was at about 3-3.5 stars. But then came the ending and as the story unfolds it totally bumped back up for me. It was written so well, very chilling and there was another twist that I didn’t see coming. I would definitely recommend this one with the advice that even if you figure out what’s going on, keep reading because the ending will have you thinking “OMG did that just happen”?!

Wow what a brilliant book from this author, a superb addictive page turner. Very well written with believable characters, loved the short chapters and I just couldn't stop reading.

It follows 2 narratives of 2 women, Beth who is in her 40's who's life is in bits, her marriage to Husband Richard is crumbling, but on the other hand worrying about her son Charlie and how it'll affect him, then she takes on her new client (the second narrative) called Danielle, shes a damaged woman with lots of secrets, she has burn scars upon her face,whereas she's a hardworking lawyer trying for a baby with Peter her husband who's relationship is also failing... And she hides things from Beth like what happened to her parents the scars on her wrist etc..

As it was written from 2 perspectives of Beth and Danielle I found it really interesting!!🥰

It had many twists and turns and rollercoaster effect to keep you wanting more and it did for me completing in one sitting as I couldn't put it down and I don't regret it at all wow what an amazing book! Definitely 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I KNOW YOUR SECRET is a good pick for a fast-paced psychological thriller that keeps readers guessing. (It's not scary, for those who don't like that element mixed in with their thrillers.) Narrated from two different points of view, the novel did surprise me at times, especially as readers begin to learn how the two characters are connected (apart from their client-therapist relationship). The prologue did an excellent job of grabbing my attention early on!

Neither main character felt fully three-dimensional to me, and I felt the same way about Richard (and his relationship with Beth). Surprisingly enough, Danielle felt more realistic to me than the others. Whereas the story could have blown me away under different circumstances, something was missing that made it fall a bit flat for me. Still an interesting, worthwhile read, though!

Okay, I finished this book in one sitting, no lie. It’s quick chapters and fast pace kept me going all day. Told between two narratives of Beth, a therapist whose husband just left her, and Danielle, her client needing marriage help. It keeps you guessing the connection between Beth and Danielle, is it just counselling, or is there more to their relationship.

The first almost three quarters of the book I felt like I had the wrong story. The synopsis is all about a fire and besides the prologue the fire isn’t mentioned until 72% into the story. However, the story leading up to that was well written with twists and a definite creepy feel, that I was okay without the tie into the synopsis. After the fire is brought up again you finally learn the truth behind the fire and it ties nicely with the synopsis.

Overall, a very good book. I will definitely be checking out more by Ruth Heald!

Review First, this is third book I have read by Ruth Heald and look forward to reading more books by her. This book has more twists and turns with such a surprising twist at the end. As you have read for the blurb, Beth is a therapist who has a new patient Danielle who comes alone at first to discuss her marriage and it's difficulties. Beth was under the assumption that her husband would be part of the sessions. Back to Beth, who has a 4 year old son Charlie with her current husband Richard who she just recently found out cheated on her. Even though she thought they were past this, he decides he wants a divorce and no amount of Beth trying to change his mind changes this. Also Beth constantly ruminates over her first love Nick who is dead. So everything seems to be coming apart for Beth. But Danielle does finally bring her husband to the sessions. But not everything is what it seems. From yhe title, I know your Secret, implies that Danielle knows something about Beth. Things start to happen to Beth which put her custody of her son in jeopardy and she also feels she is being watched. There is so much more I could say about this book but I don't want to divulge in this review anymore because I am afraid of giving away spoilers. I just want to say this book was fantastic and the twists and turns kept coming till the finally major reveal at the end. Fantastic and awesome read. I want to thank net galley and the publisher for this ARC is received for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this book. It is a fast paced thriller that had me from the beginning. It was a real page turner. There were a lot of twists and turns, some I didn't see coming which only added to the enjoyment of the book. The characters were well developed with their feelings and vulnerabilities. When I saw the title pop up, I jumped at the opportunity to review the new Ruth Heald novel as I adored her previous ones. I Know Your Secret starts strong and builds solidly to an explosive ending. As many of these domestic noir novels I have read, this one had me truly stumped and I didn’t anticipate or guess the whole picture until it was slowly revealed. The women involved, Danielle and a Beth do a tap dance around and through each other and we are never sure exactly how they are connected and why their paths have crossed, and how many secrets have been buried in their past. Stellar work. Loved every page and every twist.

Goodness, I loved this book! I did not see it going this way! I thought I had it all figured out and then I was hit with a curve ball I loved it!!

While I enjoyed the split narrative and the fast pace of I Know Your Secret, it just wasn't a stand out for me. I've read many similar storylines before and I didn’t particularly like either of the main characters so I wasnt really invested in what happened to them. Considering both women had dirt on the other and wanted to mess with their lives I thought there might be some juicy cat and mouse antics with a bit more of an exploration of what was driving these women to want to destroy each other. There was to some degree but it was all pretty tame and I’d worked out all the twists before the end.
While it wasn’t my favourite book it’s still worth a read if perhaps you’re new to the genre or need a quick read for a weekend away.

This one kept me guessing and entertained. I wasn’t sure who to trust until the very end. .

The story is told from the points of view of Beth (therapist) and Danielle (lawyer), with Danielle just starting to see Beth for counseling. As the story unravels a little more, we learn that Beth and Danielle aren’t exactly strangers. The problem is, Beth isn’t quite sure who Danielle is, and Danielle is quite upset with some of the things she thinks Beth did. Without giving too much away, I’d say the book description was a bit misleading. There’s some infidelity and quite a bit of suspicious activity, but it’s not exactly what you think. That’s the fun of the book, because you definitely want to keep reading to find out who did what and who’s to blame. A very fun, twisty book for sure!
