The heart of the summer by Felicity Hayes-McCoy
This is a very Maeve Binchy styled book with gentle and feel good tones to it.
Loving the characters in this fictional town .
A great read to enjoy away from hustle & bustle with the beautiful scenery of the Irish countryside. Much enjoyed.
Enjoyable read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.
I loved this story. Beautifully written escapism. Ireland is a wonderful setting and there was a lot of great characters. A pleasure to read.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
This book was totally different to my usual book choice of psychological thrillers and murders. I wanted to try something different and I am so glad that I read this book. I just adored it It’s a lovely read and perfect for a sunny day in the garden. A fabulous story with great characters . I shall be downloading more books by this author.
This book is set in the fictional town of Finfarran, West Ireland. The Author has a wonderful skill of bringing the fictional town to life, and making it sound like a beautiful real place that you can totally visualise. This is one of several books that are set in Finfarran, and It feels like I know the town and its residents very well. This can be read as a standalone novel though.
In this book Hanna, the Librarian bumps into an old flatmate from London. She feels unsettled, and a visit to London makes her question her life in Finfarran, and she has to make a huge decision.
Felicity Hayes-McCoy writes gentle and highly readable stories. You get drawn in, and want to keep on reading. This is the perfect escapism read.

This is not my usual genre, I’m more into crime/thriller books and even psychological thrillers too so I am extremely pleased and grateful to them for opening up my mind to something totally different.
What a lovely, gentle, pleasant book. I love reading about Finfarran and the characters that live there. It pure escapism!
Ireland is such a beautiful country and this comes across throughout the pages of the book.
