Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced read of "Penguin Beach." My son (age 8) and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this silly tale at bedtime. Fun story, characters, and illustrations sprinkled throughout (similar to a Roald Dahl type book).
Clyde the dancing penguin is the star of the show at London Zoo’s Penguin Beach, but when a talented newcomer is brought in who has a different set of skills, his unhappiness sets off a chain of events that result in a madcap adventure through the zoo, menaced by enemies both animal and human, and assisted by some unlikely zoo visitors.
Slapstick and verbal humour of a type that often appeals to children combine to create a story that younger readers will find entertaining, with an underlying message of tolerance and friendship.
The crowd at the London zoo is cheering for Clyde, the penguin. He has been at the London zoo for years arriving from the zoo in Ireland. Clyde is popular and well known for his Irish dancing.Arthur is the wisest penguin and Ray moans the most.Yohann kept to himself and was quiet . Anton has a pet stuffed penguin he believes to be a real shy penguin. Clyde and the other penguins wonder what life is like outside of the zoo. Diego, the new penguin arrives with tales of adventures outside the zoo.
