A classic that everyone should read at least once ion their life no matter what colour you are. Unfortunately sometimes prejudice doesn't seem to disappear and it is a timeless tale that is as relevant today as when it was written and set.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is one of my favourite books of all times. I remember reading this book when I was a teenager and is still a classic. This book will never age.

I highly recommend this book and was nice to read this book again!

Masterpiece for a reason. To Kill A Mockingbird is a warm, beautiful coming-of-age story that uncovers intricate layers of racism and social justice through the eyes of a child. Loved it and I will always love it!

Zurecht ein Klassiker. Große Empfehlung für jeden und sollte man am besten auch immer mal wieder lesen, da man mit zunehmendem Alter immer neues entdecken kann.

This was my first time reading this remarkable book and the hype is legitimate. Written way before it’s time, the themes of racism and white patriarchy are still issues we face today. Lee also looks at gender identity and societal pressures to fit into the mould of what a girl should be. I loved every character in this book; even the villains so perfectly drawn, your heart aches for those who inherit ignorance and the suffering it causes. It also reminds us that we are born with a clean slate, and hatred and prejudice are learned. There is much we can learn from children like Scout and Jem who will forever stay with me. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to experience this treasure.

I never had to read this at school and have always wanted to read it and am now so glad I did. Very moving and I will be buying a hard copy as I really want to read again and again and again.

This book obviously has its problems, and again the trope of the white saviour comes in to play. But we have to consider it from the time it was written and realise that this is one of the most important books ever written. Just because it offends us now and does not fit into our ever changing ideals, doesn't distract from the idea that when this was originally published, this was an outstanding and breakthrough book which changed the face of literature.
We will not stop reading Dickens because he was a white man, or the Bronte sisters because they pretended to be men to publish their books, or Alice Walker because she was allegedly anti-Semitic, or anyone else similar, because their books are classics, and even if we hate this (which we are totally allowed to do) we must still consider the impact it made not only on literature but on society.

This is not my favourite book in the world, there's a lot I don't like about it and I have read better books in my life. But I have to respect it for what it is and enjoy what I am reading.

I can't believe how so many years have passed before I have finally made the effort and found the time to read this coming of age, prize-winning, Southern American classic. Set in the rural small town of Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s the principled Atticus Finch defends a black man charged with attacking a white girl.

Through the standpoints of young Jean Louise ("Scout") and her brother, Jem, the children of Atticus, this emotionally compelling story and its characters broaches on themes of race, class systems, inequality, injustice, gender roles, cruelty, hate, and taboos in addition to courage, the power of kindness, family and conviction. Within this inspirational novel and its message of it being a sin to kill a mockingbird, I delighted in meeting local man Boo Radley, the Finch's cook, Calpurnia and Tom Robinson. To Kill A Mockingbird is a strong contender for my list of favourite reads.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Random House Cornerstone via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

A classic. I don't think I need to say much about it. It is just a great read that I will come back to for sure!! I hope more younger people will read it!

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well, what can I say it's Harper Lee, To kill a Mockingbird-one of the best books ever written. This version is just as beautiful as the first. Brilliant.

An excellent book. A thrilling read through and through. It wasn’t predictable, it was beautifully written and held me captivated throughout. It’s no wonder it is so acclaimed. The prejudice of one race towards another through the eyes of an eight year old. If only we could all live our lives through her morals!

Can't believe I have never read this book before. I would encourage anyone to read it now.
I remember the film and can see Gregory Peck as Atticus.
Loved that is was written from Scout's viewpoint, such innocence and curiosity.
No wonder it is surprised h a classic.

Despite being presented as one of the most important novels written about race, Lee's book fails to dig deeper than the stereotypes and explore white folks entitlement and white knighting, nor black folks' reality.

To Kill A Mockingbird remains just as relevant today, if not even more so, as it was when it was originally published sixty years ago. It is abundantly clear why this novel is considered a classic. The novel is beautifully written and holds such important lessons. If you haven't yet read this brilliant novel, do so. And if you have, it's even more amazing in a re-read. Highly recommended!

You can’t be in love with reading without hearing of this book or it’s legacy & how it’s made people feel. You can bet your ass some kids out there are running around with the names scout & atlas in favour of this book. It’s a book that will outlive me in its popularity and continue to educate those who are blessed to come across it.
