Erica is a yoga instructor, and Josh is one of her students. She wants to ask him out for a while, but she hasn’t gotten the courage to do it yet. She finds out that her ex-boyfriend and his new fiancé will be at the same wedding, so she creates a plan to make Josh go as her date, and he surprisedly agrees.
This was such a cute little story! The pacing was good, and I never felt that the plot was rushed because it was a shorter book. Both Erica and Josh were very cute together and the dialogue made me laugh a few times. I loved the scene with her grandmother at Bingo. There was something so genuine about that interaction and that made me love Josh more. It was also sweet of him to adopt a doggo. I devoured this in a night and I am sure everyone will love this cute fake relationship story!
Thank you to NetGalley and to Hatco Publishing for giving me a copy of the book.
I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The main character was Erica Conner.
Erica Conner is an yoga instructor. She has to attend her friend wedding but she doesn't want to go to it alone. So she decides to ask the man that is coming yo her yoga class if he would like to go. But things don't go as planned.
This was a fun story to read. It has action and drama throughout. It had me laughing a lot throughout the story.
I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
I love Susan Hatler! A cute book you can read in a couple sittings and make you chuckle. Fun and enjoyable.
I really enjoyed reading this book I did not want to put it down. I look forward to reading more from this author.Look
Super-cute, easy, sweet and romantic, a surprising winner in a crowded field of 'fake relationship turns to good' books. Hatler has overcome any cliché about the good-natured guy going along with the hapless broken-heart's desperate charade. We've seen it done to a meh degree in movies, and we've all slogged through various takes on this trope. But Hatler breathes wonderfully fresh air into the storyline, crafts realistic, likeable characters, and leads us along a delightful storyline. When you want a light and romantic, sweet book - perhaps after a heavier read - this is a winning choice.
I am always up for one of Susan Hatler's books. These are ones that I can sit down with and escape away to another world for a few hours. I love the way that she always has some humor along with her romance. I think that is what we all need right now is a little humor with everything going on in the world. Great escape from reality!
Erica is a yoga instructor and has been eyeing a certain male in her class but has not had the nerve to talk to him just yet. When her ex's mother asks her about her wedding date for her son's wedding, Erica politely tells her that Josh, the guy from her class, is going to be her date. Josh happens to be in the building still and overhears Erica tell her ex's mother that he is going to be her date and he decides to just go along with it. Why not, right?
So, now that Erica is talking to Josh and they have a date. Josh makes a deal with Erica that she will help him try to win his ex back. Erica is determined to make Josh look good and make his ex jealous and realize that she should not have let Josh go. Although Erica is not fond of trying to get Josh back with his ex, a deal is a deal and she is going to hold up her end of the deal!
We get to go on a few outings with Josh and Erica and you can tell automatically that things just click with them. The relationship is so easy. What is Erica going to do if Josh really gets back with his ex? You will enjoy the ride with Josh and Erica. This couple is so easy to like and Susan Halter makes them just so fun, as she does with all her couples! Great read that you will devour in one sitting!
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
Erica is a yoga instructor who has been eyeing one of her students. She has been wanting to ask him out but had not gotten up the nerve. When her ex's mother comes in and tells her that her ex is bringing his new fiancee to a wedding that she was also invited, she comes up with a story about who she is bringing. Lucky, or unlucky, that is the question, Josh hears that she is supposedly bringing him to the wedding. He decides to play along but it comes with a price - to help him win back his ex-girlfriend. It was a great story that, at times, made my laugh. The banter between the two was awesome. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Hatler but will not be my last. Thanks to Ms. Hatler, Hatco Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
What a fun book! Josh and Erica have instant chemistry. The characters, along with Ms. Hatlers wonderful story, just work. At times, I found myself laughing out loud.
I highly recommend this book.
Thank you Susan Hatler, Hatco Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.
Sick of having her nose rubbed in her ex-boyfriend's success, Erica tells his mother that she's attending the wedding of a common friend with Josh Taylor as her date. The Josh Taylor - handsome and presumably wealthy - and the man she's been trying to get up her courage to approach ever since he joined her yoga class. Worse still, he overhears her telling the woman and agrees - only to later make it part of a deal that Erica will help him get his ex-girlfriend Mindy back. Spending time together confirms that he's the man she wants to marry - but he seems to be still chasing Mindy. Will she ever get up her courage enough to admit to him that she loves him? And if she does, will it be too late?
Another sweet and clean light read from the author - a good escape because it's well written and introduces characters that you can care about, with a good mix of humour and pathos. But oh how much simpler life would be if people were just straightforward with each other all the time! It would leave nothing to write about... :-) Summary: An enjoyable clean, light read.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
This was a super fun story. This was book # 3 from this series and the first book I read by Susan Hatler!
It was funny all throughout and yet tugged at your heart every so often. You want the characters to love each other, but something happens that pulls them apart. Every so often in the book, as I was reading, I felt my heart skip a beat and slowly break for these two. It actually tugged and raced at various times of me reading this book. It’s such a good read.
So, for the nitty gritty, I loved Josh as a main character and he truly was hero material. Josh, oh Josh! All you out there who want a fun hero to read about, this is your book and your hero! Josh is not only sweet, but gorgeous, has a great job, and likes to play bingo with Erica’s grandma! He even adopted a dog from the shelter because Erica said a true hero adopts dogs! And he adopted a dog from a shelter!
Of course there were characters that weren't very likeable and tried to keep Erica and Josh apart, but that wasn't happening to our 'Honey Boo' and 'Pumpkin Poodle'. I won't give the ending away, but if it doesn't make your heart melt and your knees weak I don't know what would. I thought it was so swoozy!!
Great story! I meant to read just a couple of chapters one evening, but I ended up reading it all the way through because it was so much fun and light-hearted!
For those who want to know, this is a clean read (no sex, no swearing). I recommend this for when you are looking for an upbeat, light read that will leave you smiling.
This book is stand alone, but there are lots of characters in this story that have apparently appeared in the other books by this author so you get like a “where are they now” kind of update on previous couples.
Even if you haven’t read the other books in the series you can appreciate this story without feeling lost. Can’t wait to read the rest of the books by Susan Hatler!
Rating: 5 stars
What a fun read!!! My Wedding Date instantly pulls you in and gets right to the point in this lovely and entertaining book. It can be read without having experienced any of Susan Hatler's other wonderful novels. I enjoyed Erica's unique journey to love and happily ever after. I did find myself wishing I knew what Josh was thinking so many times- but hey, don't we all wish we knew what men were thinking?!
I didn't want to put this book down and found myseld immediately searching for the other books by Susan Halter because obviously I was missing out on some really juicy and sweet books!
This is spicer than a Hallmark movie, but not too steamy that I would feel uncomfortable recommending it to my grandmother. Erica takes a chance on love and puts herself out there. Now you need to do the same with this book!
I know whenever I pick up a book by Susan Hatler I'm getting a fun, clean romance with a happy ending, and this one was no exception. Who wants to go stag to a friend's wedding where you're sure to see your stupid ex-boyfriend? No one. That's why Erica planned to ask the new hot guy in her yoga class to go with her. Plus hot yoga guy Josh is just the type to show off to your ex, his new fiancee and his snooty mother. You know what they say about best laid plans? Well, Erica's was more like a flying-by-the-seat-of-her-pants plan so you can guess how that went.
This was a super fun story of two people who had great chemistry and were perfect for each other but needed to wake up. One of them more than the other. I loved Josh, I mean what's not to love? The man was gorgeous, had a great job, and liked to play bingo with his grandma, AND your grandma!! And he adopted a dog from a shelter! I'm a cat person but I still found that adorable. I thought it was so swoony.
Another winner in this fun series. You don't have to read them all to enjoy them. Each can be a standalone. This is a clean romance with just kisses.
Thanks to NetGalley and Hatco Publishing for my complimentary copy. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
My Wedding Date by Susan Hatler is a quick, funny, captivating read that will keep you glued to the pages till the last word is read! There are instants of angst, deep emotion and so many laugh out loud moments that you must have tissues handy. Josh and Erica are wonderful characters who grab your attention and never let go, as they navigate the dramas of romance. Overall, an easy to read and entertaining story that romance readers will certainly devour. I look forward to Ms Hatler’s next exciting tale.
What a fun story! The characters made me feel like I could be friends with them. Erica and Josh make a really cute couple. They always seemed to have a really good time when they got together. The miscues and mix-ups made me laugh. I loved the whole storyline. Including Josh adopting the Golden Retriever Buddy gave a feel-good feeling. The wedding vows Erica's friend Kaitlin and her husband exchanged at the wedding touched my heart. I enjoy author Susan Hatler's voice and this is a great example of it.
I enjoyed this book. Quick read. It’s about a yoga instructor Erica who was getting ready to ask Josh out who takes her class, when her ex’s mother starts being snotty to her. Erica fibs and says she is bringing a date to a society wedding that her ex Ross will be at with his fiancé. Josh overhears the conversation and steps in to help her is she will help him win back his ex. This was such a great romantic comedy. I can’t wait to read more in this series. Thank you Hatco Publishing and NetGalley. This is my own opinion.
My Wedding Date follows the make my girlfriend/boyfriend romance trope. Josh wants to make his ex-girlfriend jealous to win her back and Erica needs a date to a friends wedding because her ex-fiance is attending with a plus one.
There are funny moments in the book, the writing was conversational and easy to read. The conflict between the characters was almost non-existent and without that will they or won't they tension the romance fell flat. The ending was a bit of an info dump of past romances (guessing from other books) And Josh's character fell flat because all we knew about him was his relationship with Mindy.
The romance was chaste, only kisses in this book. The first person narrative left the reader too much out of the push and pull of the relationship and most of the book's tension could have been cleared up with a conversation.
Hatler has published a lot of books, so there is obviously an audience for her romances, tried and true readers will pick up this book.
A quick funny, “swoozy”read that couldn’t put down! It’s told only from one perspective but that added to the angst and emotion of the book! I laughed so many times and swooned the others! I loved just how easy Josh and Erica got along! Their flirting turned into friendship easily and with that easy going relationship it was inevitable that more would soon follow! But with each spark of hope Erica has to remember the truth and that’s the hardest part of it all because the truth stings and she wants the lie!
Erica Conner is a yoga instructor and for the most part, her life is okay. She would like Josh Taylor who is new to her class, to ask her out then her day would be better. What she was not expecting was her former boyfriends’ mother to walk in and them to have to put up with her constant rambling about her ex and his new girlfriend. To the point of saying that she and Josh are dating and he will be taking her to the upcoming wedding.
Josh coming out of the locker room overhearing the conversation comes up and saves her by acting like her boyfriend with funny pet names that they are calling each other. After the woman leaves, he asks her to help him make his ex-jealous in order to win her back. Plus, he will be her date for the wedding. When they go on the first fake date you realize were the real attraction is. The author though must first work out the details between the two characters. Each has a past that they each must make sure is gone and in the past.
Many funny moments, with Josh going with her to her Grams bingo game, her Gram mother is a real hoot. Along with the dog that Josh adopts, especially when he pushes the chair to get on it to get the food on the counter. Our dog does that also. I liked how she always was questioning herself and then when her ex came to her she repeatedly was telling him, no but he was so dense. She also liked what her mother had to say as well. This was a very good story and very much worth the read. Liked all of the characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Erica a yoga instructor runs into her ex's Mother after a yoga class. She lies and says she has a date for an upcoming wedding and says it is the name of one of her students Josh Taylor who incidentally overhears the conversation.....So Josh comes up to the two and says of course he is her new boyfriend and date for this wedding. This book was so much fun, honey boo and Grams....what is not to love! I would have loved an epilogue but it was still a great book!
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another brilliant book from Susan. A great quick read, couldn’t put it down.
