Thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'd seen this book recommended in a number of places and found a copy on NetGalley so thought I'd give it a go.

The book is split into sensible sections with evidence to back up the advice given. Advice is split into age ranges with information on child development for those ages. There are summaries of the advice and links to more information (which I haven't used) at the end of each chapter.

If you've read 'How to talk so little kids will listen' then some of the advice will feel familiar but this book goes beyond communication and gives advice on much more.
Very helpful to read - preferably before your child is born to implement straight away but useful at later stages too.

As a first time parent, and now looking to have a second some day, I am very interested in finding calmer, more strategic ways to approach parenting, especially as our daughter approached the twos. We knew, like every growing child, we would need to look at methods and approaches to calming her, when she was upset, and when she didn’t know how to express herself and got upset. This book does really well to give you opportunities to teach and help them grow, in a calm and loving manner. We loved it!

This book provides invaluable insight into modifying behaviours of the parent- especially in relation to actively tackling any issues/ trauma from their childhood, so that parents can facilitate a calm, harmonious and safe environment for their children rooted in mutual respect. I found this useful to read and reflect upon as an expectant mother.

A very informative book for parents to make their family life happier. After reading this book, I shall adopt them in to helping with family life with a pre teen and a teenager! Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.
