It’s been 8 years since Kats divorce, when she fled the UK and her emotionally abusive ex-husband to start afresh in the Canary Islands. Kat now manages the Heavenly Hunks, an all male exotic dance group (think Magic Mike 🔥) who travel around the Canary Islands performing at all the major hotels. Kat has created her own success with the group and she’s happy but when new hot guy Jay joins the hunks and shows an interest in Kat, it becomes abundantly clear that she has a lot of work to do to get her self esteem back after years of emotional abuse from her sicko ex-husband.

I found it hard to read the flash back scenes from Kat’s because they were just super upsetting to see how badly her husband treated her (think manipulation, gaslighting, belittling, etc). They were totally essential to building Kat’s backstory and a lot of depth to her character (that you sometimes don’t get with ‘woman’s fiction’/romance) though so I’m glad they were there. All in all I was so pleasantly surprised with this book, it was the perfect summer escape read and gets 4 stars from me. I will definitely be checking out Cooke’s other books in the future. If you like Magic Mike, woman’s fiction, tropical islands and summery romance then this book is for you! 😍

This has been the PERFECT escapist read. Lockdown has definitely been made better with this utter gem of a book.
I have absolutely adored everything about this one and completely devoured this book in just one sitting.
I am a huge fan of this author anyway but this is definitely my new favourite. It's made me laugh out loud on occasions. The story is definitely as beautiful as the cover.
Cooke paints the picture so perfectly I have felt I've been able to escape and this is definitely a book which has lifted my spirits. I have really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to recommend this to everyone else.
This is without a doubt a five star read for me. It's fun and heartwarming, also written by one of my favourite authors. Definitely one to check out because this is fantastic.
