A fun book for little hands. My boys loved shouting out the names of the animals and making their noises then guessing what they were made from. I can see lunch and snack time getting a lot more interesting from now on!
*received for free from netgalley for honest review* This was a really cute little board book with easy enough food faces! Would love to get a few for the little ones I know!
A really cute and fun book for young children! Each animal's face is made out of different foods. Children and adults will love this book. It can also be quite interactive as you can ask the child to identify what foods each animal is made from and you can even try to recreate them!
Thank you NetGalley and Storey Publishing for providing this ARC.
I received an electronic ARC from Storey Publishing through NetGalley.
So much fun for toddlers and preschoolers to look at these pictures and figure out what foods were used to create the animals. A guide is given at the end of the book.
Great to look at as a family or class.
OH.MY.GOSH!! Could this book be any cuter?! Whoever says not to play with your food.... I say...Ignore that! You dont need that kind of negativity in your life!
Whether you are practicing baby led weaning or if you just want to make snack time more fun for your littles, pick up this book and get inspired!!!
I totally want to give these a try but I might get some serious side-eye from the 8 year old!! Seriously such a fun book.
I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
A book illustrating animals made with food items. Can you guess what those food items are? The last page gives the answers.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC
I love to use board books in speech therapy with my developmentally delayed preschool population. It's hard to see some of the pictures in the kindle app, but the appear to be beautiful. I love the line drawings paired with the food faces, the questions, and also the recipes at the end. I would recommend this book to parents and educators! Kids will have a lot of fun with it.
This is a gorgeous children's board book. There is a variety of animals made out of an assortment of food items. It would be brilliant for children to identify the foods in each animal and maybe even have a go at creating their own versions at home!
A great inspiration for cooking fun that is packed with creativity. Though it doesn't provide step-by-step instructions to make the food faces, they aren't really needed! I can see this book being a hit with families, especially whilst we're stuck inside!
In this book kids will learn foods and animals as the two mix in this unique book combination showing animals made out of fruits!
It was vibrant in colours so will also teach them that too as well as draw their attention it's a simple but effective idea to learn multiple things at a time!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
Review to come to blog/goodreads on September 1st.

A book with faces made of food? Calm down my stomach! I definitely wanted to try this one and I have to say my stomach is now even more hungry. :P
I do wonder if the book actually starts were it started at mine? Mine just starts right at the watermelon piggy. No cover of the book. No introduction. It was a bit confusing and I even tried re-downloading it. Oh well. I should be used to files from NG being a bit wonky.
The book is a cute one though! Each two pages feature an animal (sometimes even two). Their faces/heads are made of yummy foods and their bodies and surroundings are scribblies/drawings. I am sure that it will be a delight to, while reading, try to make these animals. There are no instructions on how to make them, but they seem quite easy to copy and what helps is that at the end of the book you get a grocery list of what each animal is made up of. Quite often you could see what they were from just looking, but I am definitely happy they added this list.
With each animal I got more and more hungry and I was just about to reach out and test if I could just stick my hand through the screen to get those nommy animals in my tummy. I love the creativity that went into all these animals and I loved how diverse the food was. From fruits to bread to veggies. I was looking forward to each animal to see what would be next. What food, but also what animal.
I am fairly certain this book will be a delight for many kids. You can read this during lunch and make some nommy animal faces and then eat them (oh boy, this sounds so gruesome, teehee). I would recommend it.
This is a delightful book. I loved the creative food faces. I like how the fun faces are made from different food items. I plan to use this book in my early childhood classroom when we are working on the sense of taste. This is a wonderful way to get children excited about trying different foods. I will also be using it with my 6 year old picky eater. Thank you so much for creating such a fun book!
I am thankful for having the opportunity to review this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
These are more than fun~ these faces are art!! Great book that I can see inspiring kids not only to enjoy their fruits and veggies, but also to create their own masterpieces! My 1 year old loved looked at Food Faces with me.
Thanks for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Food Faces is super cute, but it is not at all what I thought it was. I was hoping for a really fun, interactive cookbook. Instead, it is a book where the characters are just made out of food. The last page lists the ingredients. I was just surprised it wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be.
This is a really fun book for little ones. The pictures are bright and colourful and you can have fun together guessing which food the parts of the faces are made from and even try them out in your own home!
