A wonderful way to introduce yoga and mindfulness to children, especially during the pandemic. It will teach your little ones to stay calm and positive as well as fun stretches and balance.
This is one of the best and most inspiring kids' books I've read lately!!
I work with children and occasionally run sessions with young ones who are learning English as a second language. With them I love using stories, games and art. I have done 'yoga' (I'm not an expert) with older children, but I haven't tried it with little ones - yet!
I cannot wait to use this book with them. It will make for a great interactive session and a wonderful introduction to yoga, in a way that's child friendly, fun and easy to follow. The story has the poses built in as the animal characters are moving around, so it will become a game and kids love imitating the characters in stories anyway. So they'll be doing yoga without even knowing it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
What a fun way to introduce children to yoga. It presents it in a fun way, showing them each pose and how to achieve it, and what it is useful for. I like that it is all done along the bear’s journey, really making it fun for her to learn about yoga, as a whole.
My daughter and I loved this book. We own quite a few childrens yoga book but this now might be our favourite. Easy to follow instructions for my 4 year old but quite a few positions.
A great beginners yoga book for children! We liked the colourful illustrations and the easy to follow yoga poses, this is a great book. People new to yoga can help teach children to do yoga. We liked at the end that for each pose, it lists the pose benefits. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.
What a brilliant book!
Not only does this help teach your child yoga and its importance but it also gives them a story to it, which if you children are like mine helps answer the onslaught of 'why' questions that tumble from their little lips.
I have never seen a book that teaches yoga poses whilst telling a story that will engage parents and children at once. My daughter enjoyed the vibrant, beautiful illustrations; seeing bear's adventure, meeting other forest animals and trying out each pose. This is one that we will certainly pick back up and also refer to during the day- it's not just the physical poses but the thought processes each pose encourages too.
