Secrets, desires and murder. The ingredients for a great psychological story. A group of women whose loves and lives entwine with one another. Absorbing and yet I found it difficult to personally relate to the characters. It was a little bit too far removed for me. However, getting an insight into each life and viewpoint through individual chapters was fascinating as the story unravelled.

I love a whodunit family drama and this one worked well.
Nancy, Eleanor and Mary have been friends since university. As the years go by, their lives have gone in different directions but they still meet up on a regular basis at their favourite curry house.
Then Nancy is brutally murdered. As Eleanor tries to work out who could have been the murderer, secrets about the 3 women are revealed.
I loved the characters, all very real. The plot was plausible. A real page turner.

I really enjoyed the author's writing style and the first part of this book with Eleanor's story but found Nancy and Mary less convincing, and Howard's reactions fairly unbelievable. I'd guessed the twists and felt the message of "being a woman is hard but it's ok not to be perfect" was very laboured.
Thank you to netgalley and Orion for an advance copy of this book

Sorry not for me right from the start. Don’t like books without some sort of chapters or natural breaks and “thriller” it was not.
Very obvious who Nancy’s lover was and who killed her. Very slow read, no excitement at all. Didn’t like any of the characters at all.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

A slow burning, but belting good story.

Complex, twisty-turny plot, that is well executed.

Highly recommend

Imperfect Women is a book about three women, friends since college with three very different lives.
To call this book a thriller would do it an injustice. To me it’s much more than that. It’s about adult friendships, flawed women and could be real life.
The story is told from each of their perspectives. What leads up to Nancy’s death and how their lives and friendships have affected their future. Warts and all.
Definitely an interesting read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know why but I really could not gel with this book.

I think that my main issue is that there were no chapters as such just parts and I am someone that needs to have a break in reading, and I am not someone to finish mid page.

This book was definitely a slow burn book and at the moment I don't think that is the correct book for me.

It is not a bad book by any means but it is not ideal for me

I enjoyed this book, although the ending is entirely predictable, and none of the characters are at all likeable. Nonetheless it is a real page-turner, and would make a great holiday read.

I read this book in less than a week. Very enjoyable, though i guessed the outcome fairly early on, so not many surprises. neverthless it was well written.

Friendship is something to treasure and take care of, because if you don’t do it, in the moments of need instead of friendship you’ll find enemies.
This is the story of Nancy, Eleanor and Mary; they know they don’t have a perfect life but they love to pretend that they have until the one day in which Nancy appears dead, murdered. Of course their life as they knew will change, starting from trying to discover what happened the last night Nancy was alive, did she meet with the mysterious lover? Or did she return home and confront the suspicious husband? Are Eleanor and Mary so free of guilt as they seem to appear or are they hiding something?
This is a story where it’s not difficult to doubt of everyone, none of the characters seem clear and all seem to have some secrets hidden from their “friends”. Having said that, expect twists and surprising revelations as the story progresses, but always remember that no one is perfect and sometimes as much as we want to wish for it, the truth is difficult to hide.
This is a book that will keep you guessing through all the pages, to discover the truth before it’s revealed and stop hating the “husbands” in this story. Because I didn’t “love” the main characters of the story, they have their faults but I really hated their husbands! I am not sure if it’s what the author wanted or was my personal opinion, but really, all of them could be much happier if they were single! I will not elaborate, I will let you decide what to do with them when you finish the story. 😉
This is a dark psychological thriller, with an amazing plot and strong characters that will intrigue you since the first page. Ready?

A very powerful and moving read. A story of friendship, love and betrayal and how we never really know the people we love.

This was a great, fast paced thriller. I enjoyed the plot, and it was very well written. It had some great twists that I didn't expect. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was some of the characters.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this E-book to review via Netgalley.

Eleanor,Nancy and Mary have been best friends since university Mary and Nancy are now married but their husbands are not what you would call a perfect man. When Nancy is found murdered it comes out that she was having an affair, but who with ? And I'm afraid to say I lost interest long before the killer was revealed I just felt there was nothing of interest going on with the women and the pages were filled with meaningless dialogue note I said pages because this was the first book I've read which had no chapters in and I found it quite bizarre and off putting. So sorry this book was not for me although I did finish it I won't be reading anymore books from this author and I wouldn't recommend this book either.A disappointing 2 star read.

This book starts with the murder of one of three women, friends since university days. However, alongside the search for Nancy's murderer we uncover more about these women and the men in their lives. I have to say that the murder is secondary really and I had no sympathy with the women nor the men in their lives. I started this book enthusiastically but the more I read, the less I was interested. I found that even the search for a murderer didn't grip me as I didn't care for any of the characters. So even though I am grateful for Netgalley giving me the opportunity to read and review this book, I didn't really enjoy it.

Friendship, secrets and lies. I loved this twisting and turning tale of three friends, their relationships and the intertwining nature of the story’s cast - their husbands and children - told from different perspectives was gripping. Kept me guessing till the end and really raises some questions about how far you would go for love. One to read for sure.

I was so excited to be accepted to read this by @netgalley - I read our kind of cruelty and absolutely devoured it so I had high expectations for imperfect women.

I am so glad this book didn't let me down! It was full of deception, passion and left me wanting to read on till the early hours of the morning!

YOU'D DO ANYTHING FOR YOUR FRIENDS.. BUT WOULD YOU TELL THEM THE TRUTH?

This book is about 3 friends, and when 1 of them is murdered how all of their lives unfold and become a jumbled web of lies as they try and discover who the killer is. This story kept me guessing right up until the end with me constantly changing my mind on who I believed the killer was!

This book covered some quite controversial topics as well, from mental health to abuse in the home which were all big parts of the story but didn't take away from the story itself - it just makes you realise that even the most perfect relationships from the outside arent always perfect from the inside. I fell in love with some of the characters, and some of them I hated so much wanted to kill them! But most importantly all the main characters were completely different bringing different aspects the the story which I absolutely loved!

Would 100% recommend this book - if your looking for a book you just can't put down, then this is the book for you! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars!

Although this book claims to be a thriller, it didn't really seem to fit that genre for me. I found the plot quite predictable, having foreseen the ending at just a quarter of the way into the book.

The book is written in 3 parts, narrated by each of three friends from university, now in their late 40s.

What really made this book stand out for me was the portrayal of enduring female friendships. I loved the disparity between each narrator's sense of self and how they were seen by their friends. The stark contrast of the part of your marriage that is put on show to what really happens behind closed doors. Each of the female characters became more rounded and the complexities of their relationships more exposed as you read each perspective.

Yes, each woman made some terrible decisions but their imperfections felt quite insignificant against the strength of their friendship and love they all carried for eachother.

Nancy, Eli and Mary were friends at Uni. As they began to grow older Nancy had beauty and wealth, Eli had the dream career and Mary had her children. They loved each other but envied each other. When one of them is killed, it leaves the each of them questioning if they could have had more of what the other two had. They have to learn that the grass isn't always greener and that they were all "Imperfect Women". I really enjoyed this one. Haven't read this author before but the writing style was good and I warmed to the characters quickly. The pace of the plot meant I kept turning the pages, wanting to know what happened next. I will be looking for more of this author's work

A well-crafted, exquisitely written thriller that leaves you wanting more from it’s author. Incredibly complex and nerve-wracking with a premise that kept me up until the early hours. I loved the varying characters and the way they were built on throughout. ‘Imperfect Women’ comes highly recommended from me.

Whilst this book is in the thriller genre it easily transcends being able to fit in just one.

The true thrill of this book is in the deep friendship between the "imperfect women". I didn't relate to any particular character but I did feel like they were completely believable and well fleshed out characters.

It was an excellent read and I really enjoyed the changes in tempo throughout the book.
