In this thriller we follow Dr Robyn Adams a criminal psychologist who receives a phone call out of the blue from her cousin Vicky with the news that her husband has been found dead.

Unfortunately I really wasn't a fan of this one. I found Robyn really unlikeable and couldn't really connect with any of the characters
The writing style made it difficult for me to really get into it, I really wasn't a fan of the stop and start, stuttery dialogue between characters. What I love most about thrillers is the plot twist/ending and this was really underwhelming, we had all this build up and not really enough of a shock factor. It felt like it was very rushed and there wasn't much development in the end.
I did enjoy the relationship blossoming between Robyn and Detective Watts but would have liked to have seen more. I loved Mia as a character I thought she was a nice addition to cut through the tension.
But overall this didn't really grip me like thrillers usually do.

Criminal psychologist Robyn Adams is at breaking point after her last case resulted in an attempt on her own life. But as she sits in the car about to head home, her phone rings. It’s Robyn’s cousin, Vicky Carter, who she hasn’t seen or heard from in years.

Vicky's husband, Simon, has been found buried on Golden Sands beach and she wants Robyn by her side as she is the only family she has left. Robyn returns to the coastal village and in desperation to help Vicky to make up for the past, she begins to investigate Simon's murder.

But as she starts investigating and collecting clues, she faces local police resistance and begins getting threatening notes and soon she realizes that someone wants her gone.

I haven't read the previous book featuring Robyn Adams but that did not affect much. This book can be read as a standalone thriller.

I was attracted to the book because of its cover and premise and hence, was excited to read it. But, as went on reading it wasn't as exciting as I had hoped it would be. The story was slow and it didn't grip my attention much.

Overall, it was good in parts and the climax was good enough!

Thank You to NetGalley and HQ Digital for this ARC!!

Robyn is a psychologist working with the police who gets a call from her estranged cousin, asking Robyn to return when the cousin's husband is found murdered. This was okay, although I never really got drawn in and felt like I had to keep reading. There were some things I didn't like about the plot towards the end of the book, but overall it was a decent story. Three stars.

A really good mystery Whodunit story. I would never have guessed the ending!! Brilliant and kept me on my toes through out. An easy read with lots of twists and turns.

Robyn Adams has been assisting the local precinct as a criminal psychologist. Her most recent case ended with her being captured and almost killed. While dealing with the mental and emotional fall-out of this incident, she receives a phone call from her cousin, Vicky. Her husband has been found dead and she is looking for someone to come help her out. Neither of them could have predicted what would come next.

Parts of this story were intriguing and kept me invested in the characters. But then other times I was just annoyed or didn't understand the characters at all. There was a lot of focus on the family drama. Unfortunately it moved kind of slow for me- especially a lot of the dialogue. There was more language than I would prefer and one scene that is definitely skip-worthy.

It was a pretty good mystery, and I certainly didn't see the ending ahead of time, so that was good.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’ll always pick a thriller over a crime story but Her Husbands Grave really gripped me!

Robyn wasn’t my favourite character in the world but she does the job! I haven’t read the previous story but this managed okay as a stand alone. The pacing is a little slow but plenty of suspense and darkness!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for the arc of Her Husband's Grave written by P.L Kane.

Thanks to P.L Kane for writing this utterly gripping book.

This follows Robyn Adams who is a criminal psychologist, she is seriously at breaking point as the last case she was on.. it resulted in her attempted to end her own life. She's in the car on the way home and she gets a phone call in which is from her cousin Vicky she tells Robyn that her husband has unfortunately have died...😔😔😔

Robyn has not heard from her cousin Vicky for many years until now.. Vicky's Husband was found on Golden Sands Beach, Robyn is determined and vigilant that she wants to help her cousin so she heads to the coastal place she spent with Vicky as a child during there summers. As she has let Vicky down in the past she won't let her down when she is in a time of need. She is on the case and goes through all the evidence which leads to finding a lead which may help the police solve the case,..... but a twist in the fact that someone wants Robyn gone and would do anything... She thinks and feels someone is watching her and she begins to receive threatening notes from someone but Robyn's life could be in grave danger.... but she is certain and definitely know she is gonna stay for Vicky as she owes it to her.

I loved this book for all the twists, turns and mysteries.. it had me hooked from page 1 right to the end. It was thrilling, gripping, hooking.

Definitely recommend

I love a good crime read and so was excited to read this but straight away I think I was put off by not understanding the main character Robyn’s back story - I now know this was because there was a previous book but at the time I just felt like I was missing important information. In saying that I did enjoy parts of this book and found the ending to be a good twist and my rating is based on the fact that I just wasn’t gripped from start to finish like a great thriller should. Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Stories for this digital copy to review!

A very enjoyable crime thriller that picked up for Detective Robyn from the end of the previous book. That said it did well as a standalone with enough backstory to keep the ole brain from wondering. Well-crafted and suspenseful - had me gripped right to the end.

I’ll start out by saying this book might not have been for me. I loved Robyn the main character; however, the buildup in the story was just too slow for me. At times, it felt more centered around family drama rather than solving a mystery.

This book is obviously one in a series so I recommend reading the previous ones first. I started by feeling that I had missed something and wanted to go back before continuing. However it is a good criminal psychologist read and has an exciting and interesting conclusion.

Interesting read , an interesting take on a crime procedural. Being the first book I have read by P L Kane, I was pleasantly surprised I loved the book,
It was engaging, suspenseful, and the complexity of the plot and characters is outstanding. I am definitely a fan now and looking forward to the next installment of the series.

This book starts out by throwing the reader right into the trauma Dr. Robyn Adams suffered just before the events of Her Husband's Grave. She was kidnapped by a serial killer but survived. When her estranged cousin calls her for help, she initially hesitates but decides to go. When she arrives she discovers that her cousin's husband has been murdered. She throws herself into the investigation despite local police resistance. She makes a connection between a local spa and the murder, which leads to an exciting climax and conclusion to the story. The book can be slow in parts but ultimately succeeds in telling the story of a woman battling past traumas to find some sense of herself again.

I enjoyed the book but not sure if it seemed very rushed. A good criminal psychologist book. Will maybe read another book by the author to see if it was just me
