The prologue which set the scene needed to be shorter as I, as the reader, had lost interest before I had met the main character. Jessica Winston is a small time book store owner from small town rural Canada who has a 3 day interview in New York for her dream job. Interviewed by Jamie Gilbert-Cooper who has had the task foisted on him by a senior manager he had some very stereotypical ideas about what someone from a small town might want in terms of life and work aspirations. The book shows him realising that he has these narrow views and slowly changing them, widening his perspective on life etc. Jessica and Jamie visit all the traditional tourist destinations which is interesting to read about. Overall this isn’t a book I would particularly want to reread.

Jessica is a bookstore owner in rural Canada but she has been offered a job interview for a job in New York! The interview is scheduled to take place over 3 days so her perspective employers can see what she is like and she can decide if the job is for her. The person who will be showing her round is her potential new boss Jamie
I liked Jessica, she had had some tougher times in life but still came through and was determined for this to be a new start and a new opportunity to change herself into the person she wants to be. Jessica’s story is focused on her self development as a character and as she changes and grows more confident with herself she becomes even more loveable. However even through everything that is thrown at her, she still remains true to herself and her fundamental beliefs like the importance of family and friends remain a big part of her
Jamie I struggled with a bit more, he didn’t want to be interviewing Jessica, she had been thrust on him by a senior manager and he has very set ideas on what Jessica wants in life as a girl from a small town (white picket fence, family etc) but she also gives him insights into himself and he also develops throughout and may realise that what he thinks is important like lots of money and an amazing apartment may not be who he is and what he wants from life
Following Jessica and Jamie’s travels through New York was fascinating and I was able to be a tourist from my armchair! They visited places I want to like Central Park, Broadway and the New York public library
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a romance with a lot of self development for the characters in a fabulous setting with a touch of drama thrown in

This was a nice easy read. A simple storyline with a predictable happy ever after ending.

The book was well written, but it took a while to actually get into it. Once the story actually got interesting (around the 25% mark) I started to enjoy it more.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book 📚

This novel took a long time to get to the point, it wasn't until around 10% when we actually get to spend some time with the main character and I do not think it was the smartest move in terms of opening the book. I also feel that it took away from the magic of reading the romance, would've been far better added at the end. The romance was cute and all of that, but quite predictable and lacked the kind of angsty drama that I love in these novels, but it was a good read. Once I got into it, flew quite quickly through it.

An old fashioned fairy tale with a very modern twist.

A lady in need of help, assisted by three new acquaintances. An insight into personal needs, with a well meaning sneaky push in the right direction to bring it all together.

Like puppets they are mannaged, but the emotional connections and feelings are all theirs to take them where it will.

With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story of the finding, recognising, wanting and admitting to everlasting love and happiness.

I enjoyed this story, it was a sweet romance set to the background of New York. When Jessica first comes to New York for her dream job, her boss Jamie shows an interest in her and takes her under his wing. The story is slow in places, but is also sweet and romantic and provides an easy read to escape from everyday life

A modern fairytale, the prologue sets the scene for a fairytale romance for Jessica. I like the Cinderella aspect of this romance and the gentle love story against the edgy urban setting of New York.
Jessica is kind and intelligent with a skill for innovation in business. Emotionally she is wary of trusting her heart after her fiance dies. This is a lovely mix of humour, poignancy and romance.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Cinderella's New York Fling is a light and easy read. Perfect for sitting in the back garden, or curled up on the sofa. Engaging characters, easy and gentle plot. A nice way to escape the world for a while.

A very light easy short read. The shopping section reminded me of Pretty Woman. If you want to read a very simple romance to escape the current isolation this one may be for you. The epilogue suggests a further 2 books may be published.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy of the book.

Received as an ARC. From Netgalley.
Sorry this is just not my cup of tea. It’s a nice, sweet, twee, Cosy and innocent kind of romance and will probably be well loved by the right audience. Just not me I’m afraid. Two stars because it’s well written .
