The storyline was captivating from the start. Loved the characters, loved the diversity in the characters, the family inter actions and the final outcomes......would love to read the next chapter with the family and the new additions such as Bo.
Always enjoy a Susan Sallis story & this one did not disappoint. Had me gripped from the very start. Lots of characters & a true family saga of ups and downs and twists and turns.
Perfect for fans of family sagas where there are secrets, lies, and conflicts. Rose and her family moved to the UK when she was small; her sister Jon was born several years later. Rose is the strong one, Jon the dramatic one, which eventually leads to conflict and crisis. It's a good old fashioned read (this is a reissue of a book published in 1991), Thanks to Negalley for the ARC.
This multi-generational story captured the triumphs and struggles of a family. Thanks to the author's vivid detail and brilliant writing, I was able to easily imagine the story as I read.
Great novel with a story that keeps you gripped until the end. I have read Susan Sallis before and enjoyed and would certainly recommend.
Another wonderful book by Susan Sallis. It's a heartwarming read that hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. Thank you Random House UK, Transworld Publishers via NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
A wonderful saga a book I was drawn right into.Characters that come alive family ,love ,emotionsSusan Salliis has a wonderful style of storytelling .Will be recommending highly .
Really good read. Would recommend to friends and family. I could sympathise with characters (important for any fiction novel!) and looked forward to picking it up and reading the next few chapters! Interesting plot line and a good ending. Will look out for more novels by the author. Thank you.
A family saga that covers several generations. Easy to slip into the characters lives, and the years quickly slip by. I had never read this author and I did not know what to expect. It’s not the kind of novel I typically read, but I can see the appeal for a large audience.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy.
On the whole an enjoyable read but I found quite long and a little drawn out at times, I then found myself having to go back in places as I felt I'd missed something. Interesting plot spanning several generations and a long time span. Slightly irritating characters who lacked depth at times and a little predictable in places but still worth a read
