I found this an interesting read - I read it in two sittings and did not expect the outcome.

The story starts at a wedding where Tris Hart - a local celebrity - is attacked. As the story enfolds you become aware of his back story and the power secrets have to derail how you see yourself and your relationships. All the action takes place in a small village and as the investigation enfolds relationships and families are torn apart.

A gentle thriller. Well worth a read. I will be investigating the author’s other book.

This book had me totally gripped from the start, building the story up to the attack on a local celebrity and the lives of the people around him. It kept me up late into the night as I read more and more trying to work out 'whodunnit'!
However, I wasn't prepared for the real culprit and felt that the ending came all of a sudden and that was it, over! It felt like the author had run out of inspiration as to how to finish the story and taken the easy ending with not much content or thought.
I did enjoy this book and will try the Author's previous book but just felt a bit cheated when I finished it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

I enjoyed reading this book, kept me engaged from the beginning to end.
Good characters in the book who were described well and played their parts.

I think I was expecting more from this book based on the tag line, it certainly wasn’t as gripping as I thought, it’s a slow burner really with no real twists and turns.
The characters lacked depth, we dipped in and out of each of their lives, I liked Laura, and the relationship between Izzy, Steph & Eamon that was it really and I still can’t work out what relevance Philly and Jeremy had to the story... during the epilogue I thought something was going to happen and we get our juicy twist but we didn’t!

Throughout the book I would say there were 4 potential suspects, when the truth comes out it went really quickly and the book ended... it wasn’t a bad book and in no way is this a negative review, I will definitely be reading the authors other book ‘Found’

I saw another reviewer saying it would make a good tv show like Broadchurch, I would definitely agree with that, I think it would transfer better to the television.

I read this in one sitting! What really happened to Tristan is slowly revealed through characters' viewpoints and the police investigation, laying bare the secrets of a village. I loved the depiction of village life and how it affects inhabitants, and the secrets families keep from each other that inevitable unravel.

Intriguing, interesting and different.
The story of a celebrity found dead at a wedding but also a story about relationships, disappointments and change.
Tristan is found injured at a wedding , guests are under suspicion, including his wife Izzy.
Tristan keeps many things secret from his wife. After he is assaulted she finds a pay as you go phone with women’s names in it and suddenly she finds her happy marriage in disarray.
Lots of twists and turns throughout the story and a couple of surprises at the end.
Very enjoyable book and would recommend it.

Tris has everything, he has a beautiful wife Isabel, is good looking, personable and a TV star. So why would someone want to murder him at a local wedding? There are no obvious suspects to start with, but as the investigation goes deeper into his life, it looks as though he isn’t as innocent as was first thought.

This is well plotted, with some nice twists and turns, and an unexpected ending , which is always good. Nice easy reading, good characters, definitely worth reading.

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review

This is a cleverly-plotted and interesting psychological thriller. It held my attention throughout and I couldn’t put it down. A celebrity is attacked at a wedding that he attends with his wife and everyone in the community is shocked. There are several potential suspects and lots of twists and turns. I found it a compelling read and didn’t guess the ending. I liked the way the police officers worked together and looked out for each other. Erin Kinsley writes very well about family relationships and friendships. I would recommend Innocent and her first book Found which was a gripping read too.

A married local celebrity is found murdered in the grounds where a lavish wedding has taken place, in the market town of Sterndale.
As the police search for answers, suspicion and paranoia build - and the lives of the locals are turned upside down. Secrets that lurk beneath the pristine façade of Sterndale come to light as detectives close in on the truth...
I did not enjoy this story as much as the author's debut novel 'Found' but still an enjoyable read with plenty of twists and turns.
I want to thank Netgalley, Headline and author Erin Kinsley for a pre-publication copy to review.

An enjoyable romp of a story but I found the end result a little difficult to believe. At the end of a wedding party a man is found dead. He is a happily married celebrity and the police are targetted with finding out who would want to kill him. I'd like to see it as a TV drama. An easy summer read. Thanks to NetGalley and Headline for the opportunity to read and review Innocent.

With thanks to Netgalley and Headline for a digital copy of this title. A completely new author to me and I just loved this! I was immersed from beginning to end. The story starts with a perfect wedding day, sunshine, beautiful people..and the underlying tension of knowing from the blurb that something bad is going to happen. The accident happens in a tiny community and does the damage that big events do to little places. Families are thrown apart by emerging secrets and trust is irretrievably lost. The investigating police are fully rounded characters and their investigations carefully observed. This has been compared to Broadchurch but I felt it was less sinister and more sensitive. The sense of utter loss and devastation for the families is powerful. Like Broadchurch it would make excellent tv. I enjoyed this so much I have already purchased kinsley’s earlier book.

When reading this book, I could easily imagine it adapted for TV, in a similar vein to the popular crime dramas on ITV.

An enjoyable read in the most part, this book contained some well-written parts and some readers will no doubt find it ‘unputdownable’.

This is a story that mainly looks at celebrity and teenage lives around a sudden and shocking event.
I found that it was a light quick read which suited me on a rainy day during lock down but I was always waiting for the story to develop more depth. For me it was an enjoyable read but lightweight, suitable for holiday reading with much focus on appearance and what people think!!

Innocent is the second book by Erin Kinsley, author of found. I remember hearing about Found a lot when it was released but never got hold of it. When I saw she had released a new book, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to read it.

The novel follows a murder of a local celebrity in a small town, and there isn't much that can be said about it without giving away the ending. The description of places was very vivid and the characters were fun to read.

I can't wait for Erin's next novel!

Disclosure: I'd like to thank the publisher for my advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

Thank you very much Erin Kinsley for forcing me to stay up late on two consecutive evenings, because I couldn't put this book down. The story is a good one, with plenty of twists and turns, and a satisfyingly unexpected ending. It would make an excellent TV drama. I will definitely read more from this author, and would definitely recommend this book.

I felt like the beginning was a little weak. I always want to give books a few chapters to get going. But I straight away wondered if this was for me.

As the book progressed a little I struggled to care. They didn’t give me a reason to care for the victim.

The jumping POV, especially mid chapter, made it difficult to keep on track. I found myself getting lost.

In the end I DNFd at 32%. I couldn’t force myself to carry on and continue to get lost with how it’s written.
