What a simply mouthwatering book. I don’t know what I drooled over the most, the yummy cakes and the Cohen the sexy vet?
This was perfect small town romance. Paige scared to open her heart and take a leap of faith and Cohen trying to put his past heartache behind him. Enter ten years old Bryce who works his charm in bringing his dad and Paige together. I also enjoyed that we got another happy ever after whilst reading, Allison and Christopher’s wedding day. I really hope there will be more books with the characters we met.
This book for me is a Christmas movie in a book. I loved it! Its a lovely feelgood story set in a small town in America.
Paige moves from New York to a small town called Port Landon to open up a bakery. She meets Dr Cohen ( a widow) and his young son and you know what happens! She becomes part of the town and their lives through the love of cake and her kind ways ! Perfect feelgood summer reading!
I loved this sweet romance. The characters are genuine and kind. Even when the characters make mistakes, it is out of love and concern for others. The descriptions made me want to move to Port Landon and definitely made me hungry for bakery treats. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was the debt book by Caroline Flynn and it was a great read which I fell in love straight away.
The story is about Paige who has moved from New York and opened a new bakery where she meets some of the locals including the local vet Cohen and his Son Bryce. They also have a loveable dog which you will fall in love with too. The story is told from both Paige's and Cohen's POV and I love it when stories do this as I think it really helps to get to know the characters. Bryce is also hilarious and I loved some of the things that he would come out with.
I was quickly sucked in the story and wanted to keep reading and not put it down. It is a very easy, light hearted read. There are lots of twists and turns in the book that will keep you reading. There is some great witty and funny banter between the characters. The descriptions of some of the cakes and bakes will also have your mouth watering.
I would highly recommend this to fans of light hearted, fun romance reads. I can't wait for future books from Caroline Flynn.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ digital for the book in exchange for this review
A wonderful love story of hope, loss, friendship, a little boy who lovesss cake and a dog who all come together with the help of the local interfering townsfolk. A beautiful story that once started you won't want to leave until the end.
This appears to be the debut novel by Caroline, as I can't find any others. And what a book it is. We meet the lovely Paige Henley who is following her dream arriving in Port Landon to take over a bakery, The towns vet, Cohen Beckett attends the grand opening of Paige's bakery and could there be love on the horizon? Cohen tragically lost his wife years before and could Paige be the lucky lady who warms his heart again? Looking forward to another instalment if there is to be one.
I'm a sucker for a book whose plot includes a bakery! This was the perfect summer read. The book alternates chapters between Paige's and Cohen's point of view and there were a few times where we got each one's perspective on the same encounter. G-rated and would be good for a YA, too. The story would be great for a Hallmark Movie. Paige opens The Cakery in the small town of Port Landon and begins a friendship/courtship with the town veterinarian who has a precocious 10 year old boy and lovable dog name Jazz. Thrown in are her cousin's wedding and a fundraiser for a resident whose house burned down. There are a few ups and downs and misunderstandings along the way for Paige and Cohen. The ending did not disappoint.

What a cute, clean romance!

This book has been very well written with a lovely story line. It makes for a very enjoyable read, you wont want to put it down. Some families think they have the right to turn up at their parents home and expect everything to be done for them. More adult members feel the same way but it is too much for the home owners to bare. read this and really enjoy the whole adventure. I am giving this 5 stars.
This was an ARC from Netgalley given for an honest review.
Ms. Flynn pens a sweet romance about a widower who has survived the death of his young wife, leaving him with a two year old, and a woman who fought to rise in her field in New York City only to realize that was not how she wanted to spend the rest of her life.
Paige's cousin Allison has tried to get Paige to move to the small town she now lives in, with little success...until now. When Allison tells her she can have the bakery she always dreamed of...just a few doors down, Paige decides it's time and buys it, praying it will work out.
Her move to the small town of Port Landon is a dream come true. The town eagerly supports her and she's very happy there. Adding to her happiness is the widower and veterinarian Cohen Beckett.
They get close despite both being wary, and then have a terrible misunderstanding, one that's eventually rectified to end in a HEA for both,
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse and offer my opinion gratis,
I fell in love with the cover and the I fell in love with the story. I love Hallmark movie and the atmosphere reminded me of them.
The story is sweet and I rooted for the well written characters, the plot flows and the setting is lovely.
It's highly recommended.

Thank you NetGalley, HQ Digital and Caroline Flynn for giting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
This feel good romance is a slow burn that will leave you smiling to yourself more than once. Caroline Flynn has given romance readers the perfect book to curl up on the couch with or lay out by the pool to read. I know because I did both!
The steam level is very minimal in this one but the chemistry is there. The communication and connection Paige and Cohan have feel authentic and relatable. It’s not having such likeable main characters!
Bring your tissues for the opening of the book, but come prepared with your laugh because you’re going to need it!
I loved Paige and Cohen's story. It was quick to the heart for both but it was also very warm and fulfilling. the sub characters added just the right spark.
Just finished reading THE FORGET-ME-NOT BAKERY by Caroline Flynn. I received this ARC from HQ Digital via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Official publication date is today July 15th, 2020.
A cute read. Baked goods with a side of romance.
In a gossipy small town called Port Landon, newest resident Paige Henley has just left the big city of New York behind, to fulfill her life-long dream of owning a bakery. When single dad and local vet Dr. Cohen Beckett arrive at Paige’s bakery for her grand opening, her dreams start to change.
But Cohen has built a wall around his heart, after losing his wife 8 years ago and raising his son Bryce on his own. The last thing he expects is for a stranger to come in and blow up his life in the most exciting ways, that he didn't believe were possible. Will Pagie be able to break down his walls with yummy desserts?
Definitely a one time read for me. Wish there was more romance throughout, not just talk about it and dragging it out to the last 10% of the book. Characters could have also been more fully developed as well. But definitely a cute, and light read.
Absolutely brilliant, I fell in love with this (Cohen) from the first chapter, I just was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I just loved how slow burn Cohen and Paige are, so cautious and respectful of each other’s feelings at the start , it’s just lovely. There is the usual touch of drama, as to be expected and I love a story with second chances at love. It’s a lovely light read, heartwarming and such a great community feel. I loved it.

The story has a powerful start, where we meet Dr. Cohen Beckett, the local vet, mourning his young wife’s passing. He is left with his heartbreak and a 2-year old son. Skip forward 8 years, and Paige Henley moves into town to take over the bakery. They make an instant connection when Cohen comes into the bakery on the grand opening day.
This is a slow, clean, HEA romance. Paige and Cohen were very cute at the start of their relationship. Does she like me as much as I like her? What does it mean when he says this? Or does that? Many of the expected feelings and thoughts that go along with starting a new relationship. But poor Paige had carefully opened her heart to a man who wore blinders when it came to his son. And that caused the main friction between them.
I liked Paige and Cohen, they were fairly mature for most of their interactions. They had to contend with an entire town interfering, and that was a bit much at times. I understand the whole small-town thing where everyone knows everyone’s business, but this was just a bit over the top. Everyone had them marrying before they even went on their first date. That would be enough to make any one nervous. I also didn’t quite buy into the situation with Paige’s ex-boss later in the book. It just wasn’t very realistic for me.
It’s a great book for a quiet, easy, relaxed read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The forget-me-not bakery by Caroline flynn
I recommend you read this book it is lovely so easy to read such lovely warm characters I love Paige the main character she was so loving so enjoyed her work when she was talking about her cupcakes and a cake that she made for the cafe I could actually picture them and taste them in my mind the other main character is a doctor a bit of a rough life is why you got to read to see why he left with a young 10-year-old boy you knew where you first heard about him you know you were going like him and his cheeky ways is about them doing a fundraiser together and how their friendship grows also his young son I like how his character was very fun very loving very open is the story progress you realise that the doctorfalling in love with something or someone or were they you see the see their passion for each other grow and you'll see the look of the bakery grow it's very nice very warm story you just wanted a happy ending you just wanted to read to find out what was going to happen next and how is the story progress you realise that the doctor on paige are falling in love or where they you see the see their passion for each other grow and you'll see they look at the bakery grow it's very nice very warm story you just wanted a happy ending you just wanted to read to find out what was going to happen that's and how they have their passion for their each other grow i loved this book so easy to read a read in a afternoon love it
This was such a good story. Paige gave up a high powered career in New York to open her own bakery. She loved making sugary goodies for everyone. Then she met the good doctor who was a widower that had small son. She learned quickly that in small towns, there are NO secrets. The characters were very likeable and I loved Bryce. He was a old soul in a 10 year old body. He was so sweet. I didn't know this author, but I hope there are more books out there for me to read. It was easy to read and captured my attention to the last page.
I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review
This is such a sweet, little small-town romance. It’s perfect for those lazy days when all you want to do is curl up and fall into a non-taxing, easy to read story.
It’s not the wham-bam, hits in you hard in the heart romance, it’s very a predictable, cute boy meets girl type, in fact, think of those cutesy afternoon films what everyone watches at Christmas and you will have an idea, there is nothing essentially wrong with it, the characters are very likeable and it is fun getting to know them and watch them fall in love, the plot is a little samey as other’s in the small town genre but enjoyable none-the-less it just didn’t give me the loved up buzz I usually get.
I did enjoy it, it was a nice stop-gap between other heavier books I am currently reading, the story flowed easily and the characters are very likeable, my heart went our to Cohen he lost apart of his self when his wife died and left in its a place was this thirst for revenge of some sort even though he knew it was a tragic accident, hulking that heavyweight around isn’t the easiest especially with the addition of a confused little boy. I liked the friends to lovers trope romance that occurred between Paige and Cohan, both are looking for a fresh start and both are lonely, theirs is a sweet relationship and I really liked how they connected instantly.
This s all about find a place to call home, a story of second chances and moving on, I liked the premise of it, there’s not really a lot more I can say about it, it’s sweet, heartfelt, with lots of emotion, the plot is steady and moves along at a gentle pace and the characters are relatable and well developed but it is a little too cutesy for my liking. I would go as far in saying this would be a perfect young adult, coming of age romance or it would be a great starter for those coming into the sweet romance genre.
I believe this is the first book by Caroline Flynn, and just because this one didn’t quite hit the spot, I will happily try her books again as I did like her easy reading, writing style.
If your looing for a more passionate and sexy romance then this isn’t the book to read, but if you want to just float away on fluffy cake filled clouds then give it a go.
