Keeping up the craziness from the first two books in the series, this book is another entertaining, escapism read.
This book was a little different to what I would normally read but it still had the excitement that I was looking for. A good holiday read.
Dangerous to Know, Chloé Esposito
Book #3 in the Mad. Bad and Dangerous to Know trilogy following spunky murderess Alvie as she continues on her rampage of cocktails, diamonds and death.
Alvie has no moral code, is completely unlikeable and races frantically through the pages leaving you exhausted and yet somehow, you still want her to land on her feet. When I read book #1 I remarked that I love a female protagonist who is every bit as driven and ruthless as we expect a male one to be, Alvie is exactly that and I enjoy her for it.
She is a scandalous antihero, with a dark and deadly past and a trial of bodies pointing in her direction. This book is a thrilling, exciting read to pick up when you are poolside.
After the slight dip that was 'Bad', this is back to the hilarious and bonkers high-octane antics of 'Mad'. This opens with Alvie back in London with just one more job to do - but where have we heard that before? Assuming the persona of Siobhan who Riverdances across the floor to assert her Irishness, she soon waltzes into a job as sushi chef at The Savoy (knife skills, natch!) and catches sight of her target...
Esposito's prose is fizzing and fast, the story is crazy, and Alvie is a brilliant anti-heroine - brilliant switch-off reading, I love this series!
A really good fireworks display builds tension and anticipation, so it was with Mad and Bad. However, as much as I was looking forward to Dangerous to Know, it didn't deliver the effusive pyrotechnic climax I might have hoped for, more of a damp squib, sadly. It wasn't as tight or pithy as Mad or Bad. Maybe because this third book in the trilogy didn't have a great story and Chloé Esposito tried her best to give Alvie both humour and chutzpah to help it along but it just wasn't enough. Of course we should remember we have had a similar character, Villanelle on TV, to compare and contrast with throughout the writing of Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. Perhaps I've just become jaded?
The ending of this trilogy was highly anticipated as I loved Mad and Bad but unfortunately Dangerous to Know didn't quite hit it for me. The plot was even more unfeasible but without the sharpness and wit of the first two books. An entertaining read and I'll be interested to see what Esposito does next but i really found it hard to engage with Alvie in this final installment.
This series is so far fetched that it keeps you hooked just so you can see what crazy thing happens to Alvie next! Although I enjoyed this book, I preferred the rest two in the series. Recommend if you’re looking for something very different but easy to read.
Dangerous to Know is a deliciously unputdownable read full of sex, lies and murder, what else could you want from a book. It's a must-read book for the summer.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Michael Joseph UK for the arc of Dangerous to Know written by Chloé Esposito

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for a surprise advanced copy of this book, especially as I have been waiting so long for the final part of the trilogy.
Well, once again this book is pure madness but, like with the others, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The main character is a complete nutter but with this book we finally find out the true reason why she is the way she is.
I have only ever watched clips of Killing Eve but I can imagine Alvie being very similar to them - mad but likeable.
The book is fast paced and makes you want to keep picking it up to find out what is going to happen. I guessed part of Ed's story but was shocked to learn the truth of who he actually is.
I shall definitely look out for more books by this author although I am not sure that my fellow book club members would enjoy them as much as I have.

Every bone in my body is shaking. A masterful thriller.
Alvie Knightly was living the dream.
Unlimited cash. An Italian getaway. A hot new boyfriend...How the mighty fall.
One year - and one very unfortunate incident - later, Alvie is homeless, surviving on meal deals, and counting her dwindling pennies.
She once was a aerial killer. Now she has to take a stand. Would she kill again?
I loved the main character. Narration of the story is flawless.
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK Michael Joseph for giving me an advance copy.
