What a truly inspirational read , Dr Pippa really gets to the root of why we feel fear - Really enjoyed it
There are helpful strategies and insights in this book - and most importantly, they are explained with compassion, verve and generosity. It is for this reason that this text could actually help people.
Great motivational book on conquering persistent low level fear, from a leading sports psychologist, this is a really interesting read. Like an extended Ted Talk, I personally found it useful on imposter syndrome in workplace, shame and comparison fatigue, being not an overly competitive person like the athletes Dr Pippa works with. Includes plenty of mentions of resources that would be useful throughout, I enjoyed the focus on anecdotes over too much data. Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC copy of this book.
Our lives are lead by fear and Pippa Grange, the psychologist who helped transform many sport teams, explains in her book how to turn our fears into an asset. Fear isn't just in our heads, is also in our environment. It's there when you feel unfulfilled, as if there's something missing. When you're never good enough, when you feel jealous, judge others, strive to be perfect in any way or even feel the need to crush someone.
With less fear we can be ourselves and live a full and meaningful lives. Win from within and replace fear with courage.
The book is a collection of ideas and experiences, you just have to read, reflect, and let your imagination and unconscious start doing their thing.
Very useful and powerful book.
