Wonderful small projects, like purses, made from embroidered fabric. Each project comes with templates and instructions on how to embroider and sew.
This book migh tnot be suited for true beginners of embroidery.

I love the cover of this book and it’s what drew me to it! I enjoy embroidery and this had good basic guide for embroidery, however when it came to the projects it was lacking. I wish it had more explanation for each project along with drawing and possible traceable drawings. I can embroidery but I’m not great at drawing and having something to trace would have been super helpful.

A beautiful set of patterns, all are easy to follow and can be repeated or uses individually. I love the example photos. The patters have a Swedish Vibe. Would love more patterns.

It is a super adorable book. I loved just browsing through all the pretty designs. The instructions for the seven types of stitches used in the book were hard to follow. Either more detailed pictures or a YouTube channel where people can go see the videos might be helpful

Happy Pub Day to Simply Stitched with Embroidery by Yumiko Higuchi! I fell in love with embroidery in quarantine. I've made a dozen different projects, and I'm not slowing down anytime soon - that's why I was so excited to pick up this book. Her designs are a modern take on old school embroidery motifs, which I'm surprisingly drawn to. There are a million things you can embroider besides hoops to hang on a wall, but this is the first time I've come across an embroidery craft that I felt was manageable for a relative beginner like me. Although the book focuses on the pouches and purses that can be made, the patterns are super versatile and as with any embroidery, can be adapted for your particular needs or tastes. I'm excited that the book contains instructions for both the embroidery itself as well as construction of the pouch or purse. It's worth noting that the instructions do call for machine sewing at times (not everyone owns a sewing machine!) Still, I'm already picking out the pattern and fabric for my first big girl embroidery craft (and I can't wait to see how it turns out!)
Thanks to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book.

I was so excited to see this embroidery book. I have always been mystified on how to attach the metal frame for a purse. There are clear step by step instructions not only on how to make the purse but how to create beautiful nature inspired embroidery motifs. The idea is to take it a step further and turn these motifs into the focal point on beautiful purses. There are crisp and clear photos displaying each step from start to finish.
While the book is specifically focused on purses I see the real joy of using these motifs on almost anything you can stitch. I can see some on clothes or individual pins or wall hangings. The author is very specific about all the materials and takes all the guess work out of each project. There are also full size charts for all of them. The samples are absolutely gorgeous. The stitching is impeccable. It is so wonderful to see simple motifs stitched well. It is definitely a boost to those who are beginning embroidery as the designs are not ridiculously elaborate as to be intimidating. The book has twenty-five different designs so there is a lot to choose from.
This is beautiful book that would be awesome to own in print format. The e-book is not user friendly to create these projects. I am definitely going to look for more books by this author.
I would like to thank the author, Zakka Workshop and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An absolutely gorgeous book containing all the information you need to create some lovely purses. Nine different shapes of purses with instructions on how to make them. I recommend buying the physical copy of the book instead of the electronic version as it’s easier to refer to pages by flicking through a hard copy and much easier to trace the provided motifs. I definitely recommend this book. Thank you #netgalley

This book is really straightforward. The patterns are provided, as well as instruction for construction and a brief ‘how to’ in case you’re unfamiliar with the stitches.
The ease of use is nice, and the book neither presumes you have a huge knowledge base, nor assumes you are a true novice. It has refreshers and pattern keys, as well as color and fabric suggestions, so you can replicate the purses if you like the way it looks.
Definitely a good book to have if you are interested in purses or these types of embroidery patterns.

I am a keen embroiderer, and was delighted to see this title listed. There are some lovely ideas, and the text includes templates etc. I think this would be suitable for someone with some experience and knowledge of embroidery, rather than a beginner.
Unfortunately I don't think this works as an ebook - certainly on my small screen. However I can imagine that as a full colour, printed book, it would be an excellent addition to a craft library.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC.

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest and fair review. I enjoyed the patterns in this book. It was difficult to follow as an ebook as it would probably work in print much better. The patterns were well written.

There are some lovely patterns in this book, but they are above my skill level. The book didn’t really work in the format I used it in (Kindle).

The models offered for inspiration are lovely and I can´t wait trying them. The directions seem easy to follow and all the projects look like a great way to spend some quality time creating beautiful things. You can use it for yourself, as a gift or for creating an embroidery group together with likeminded people. In both cases, it is a win!

This book is a great addition to the library. Whether beginner or experienced at embroidery, this book has something for everyone. The designs are beautiful and the instructions on making small coin purses, pencil purses, and small purses is detailed enough that anyone should be successful at making these exquisite projects.

Absolutely beautifully laid out and photographed, as a complete embroidery beginner this book helped make the projects seem accessible and achievable. The instructions for each design are carefully laid out and demonstrated in images and well as described within the text. I am definitely going to be trying one or two of these out!

I always look forward to a new embroidery book by Yumiko Higuchi! This new volume is all about stitching flowers onto little purses. As an enthusiastic collector of bags and purses, this is heaven! The images of each pattern are lovely, and the instructions are easy to follow.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Gorgeous designs and a clear step by step guide to forming the purses. It would aid the reader/user to already have embroidery experience but the designs are easy enough for adventurous beginners. I love Higuchi's style-substantial yet airy.

This is a beautifully presented book divided into 25 projects (mostly purses) and covering 20, mostly nature based, themes.
The book has clear, step by step photos to show what materials you need and how to stitch your projects and also full size charts for them all.
I would have preferred the finished project photographs to be with the instructions for each project, rather than all the project photos and then all the instructions together. I only had an electronic copy of the book, a physical book might make this less of an issue.
Overall, this is a lovely book to get you started with delicate embroidery on purses.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the free advanced copy of this title.

This beautiful book has so many lovely designs, it's absolutely inspiring for a cozy afternoon of embroidering. Easy to follow instructions and really nice illustrations.

This lockdown made me try a few things. I learnt embroidery ages ago. This book totally intrigued me to request it on NetGalley. Thank you, NetGalley for the review copy in return for my honest review.
This book focuses on many cute and easy embroidery designs. I can totally see myself doing a few of these.

What beautiful embroidery motifs!
The book is divided into several different categories of motifs, such as flowers, butterflies, feathers, cats, among others.
Each chapter presents images of the embroidery itself as well as photographies of the final project: the purse.
At the end of the book you can find a brief and clear explanation of the stitches you need for each motif, the patterns with the stitches used in every part of the motif, and the patterns themselves.
I think I'll update this review once I make, at least, one of the motifs.
Thanks to Zakka Workshop and NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
