The Crowley girls were the “It Girls” of InisRun, loved and envied in equal measure by the islanders.
When the eldest sister, Nessa Crowley, dies mysteriously at a party at Keelin and Henry Kinsella's house, they become the main suspects. Although they are not charged with her murder, they become social pariahs. Ten years later a duo of Australian filmmakers visit the island to make a documentary about the unsolved murder, unsettling the Kinsellas once more.
This book ticks so many boxes for me:
Murder Mystery ✓
Small isolated Irish setting ✓
True crime documentary ✓
The whodoneit reveal was a little bit predictable but I feel like there were more interesting things carrying this story. O' Neill has written a gripping psychological thriller that will appeal to both her YA and adult audiences.

It was no surprise for me that I loved this one - Louise O'Neill is one of my favourite authors. I was so keen to see what her latest offering was.
Wow - I was gripped from the first page. This book is twisty and clever. It is so atmospheric and you really feel the tension amongst the community.
Overall, a strong four star read for me.
