Gills books never fail to make you laugh. There is always something entry that has you smiling, laughing and not to forget completely cringe too. All the books in this series are completely relatable for mums, they are easy to read, easy to stop at, no need to read lots at one time, perfect if you just want a little escape from real life.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Absolutely hilarious, just like all her other books. Really enjoyed reading this, thanks again

Really funny. I have now completed the set and this volume, like all the others, amused and entertained me hugely. The characters were real and easy to visualize - they became like old friends and I was pleased to read about them all again. Not many authors can write as skilfully about life as Gill Sims. Wisdom enshrined in humour.

I am not as enthused about this 4th in the series as the previous one. The style is now beginning to grate as are the emotions and self destructive language. Whilst having been through this age of children I find her description over the top, which is expected ofcourse, but ...
The series has run its time and length for me.

I really enjoyed this book and having read the first three novels, I felt that this one pulled it all together for the end of the book. I enjoyed how this ended and found it a really nice easy read!

I love this book it had me in stitches throughout. The author has such a humours style of writing unlike any I have ever read before. I just don't know how she does it but literally everything she says and that the characters do is totally hilarious. It reads like it is based on the authors life but is a work of fiction. Or is it real? This question has always made me wonder. The author creates such amazing characters that you can really connect with and seem so life like . The story is so close to the truth that anyone with kids will relate to and those without would probably be thankful they are without. If you love reading hilarious books about parenting, with romance and plenty of drama this book is definitely for you. It's just so whitty and at times I find myself saying out loud did she really say that or no way. You will definitely come out of this book with sore face muscles from the constant smiling and laughing. I dare you to readthis book in public and not laugh out loud. I was in the park with my dog laughing. I couldn't do it. I am now dreading my daughters teenage years which is starting early as apparently mum's don't kiss child aged 10 ! If anything in this book is to go on im in for a crazy roller coaster ride.

Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such a life like story and full of sayings that you find yourself starting using. I will definitely continue to read everything that this author writes.

Thank you to the publishers @harpercollins for a copy via NetGalley!

The person I related to the most in this book was Hannah! Having a third child a lot younger than your other two and wondering if anyone else is overwhelmed?! I too have joined an online group to chat to other Mum’s and received the same sort of comments but thankfully in the minority. Other Mums I have found to be so supportive of each other, you want to moan about the kids? They got you. You want to say how much you love them and can’t get enough? They got you!

This book is a raw and honest perspective on motherhood. No one family is the same, no child reacts the same and everybody parents and tries their best all the same!

This book is a must read for anyone who has ever questioned their parenting and if they are alone wondering why life isn’t the yummy mummy idea sold on Instagram!

Really funny lighthearted read, haven't read anything from Gill before, but will definitely be having a read of the previous My Mummy books
Down to earth, relatable family dynamics, a hilarious take on family life, guaranteed to put a smile on your face as you read.
Would highly recommend.

Oh boy! I loved this book so much that I have now bought the others in the series.

I laughed and I cried. Bloody brilliant!
Everyone should read these books. If you don't want it for yourself, buy it for a loved one. They'll thank you.

I gave Why Mommy's Sloshed, by Gill Sims, five stars, and can't wait to dig in to the other books

Another funny book about the day to day living of an everyday family. With Peter and Jane older and Jane ready to fly the nest, and a tasty new neighbour for Ellen to lust over, the funny tales of their lives keep on giving. As the mum of a teenager, it was all relatable to and made me laugh a lot. A recommended read.

Absolutely hilarious and brilliant. This is the perfect feel good book for any parent.

I’ve loved the series and it hasn’t felt drawn out even in its fourth instalment. Peter and Jane are now sitting exams and getting ready for adulthood.

It’s fab the way the series follows the friendship and family developments. This book could equally be enjoyed as a stand alone novel.

This book will make you laugh and cry, sometimes both at the same time. A perfect way to relax with a cup of tea.

Having read the Series of Why My Mummy .. I really loved the first 3 sadly this one was a bit of a disappointment to me, I just didn’t get it at all.

I am a huge fan of this series and this latest instalment didn’t disappoint.
Funny, relatable, honest, every mummy has these thoughts about their partners and kids!
I’ve screenshot many paragraphs and sent to friends, saying “oh my god this is me!”
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book definitely did not disappoint and Gill Sims was of course, still on top form. As usual, I began reading the book with gentle chuckles but as the book went on and the narrative voice became more established and lively, I once again found myself laughing uncontrollably and occasionally laughing so much I cried.

Gill Sims definitely has a way with words and I really appreciate the way she plays with language to deliver maximum impact, whether the intention be humorous or serious.

Gill’s books, as well as being full of humour, are filled with realism and honesty that make them very relatable and easy to read.

I work as a teacher in a secondary school so it always interesting to see the teenage years from a different perspective, and it’s clear that it comes with its own challenges, one of the big ones explored in this book being how to let go of your control and allow them to be independent adults. Also, the void this leaves when they inevitably do so.

“It’s rare that your children thank you, or appreciate you, or see you as anything other than the provider of food and profferor of unwanted and unsolicited and, in their opinion, pointless and incorrect advice. But on those exceptional occasions when the blinkers of teenagerdom fall briefly from their eyes and they see you as a person, not just a parent, and they show an appreciation for the role you play in their life, it makes the sleepless nights, the Annabel Fucking Karmel purees, the eye rolls and door slams and the incessant furious “Oh, Mother” spat at you, almost, very nearly, worth it.”

Overall, another brilliantly entertaining and faultless book from this author. I hope that this will not be the last we hear from this author! I’m thinking maybe… “Why Granny is knackered”?? 🤣♥️

Pour yourself a large glass of wine, put your feet up & enjoy! 🍷

I absolutely love this series, Gill has a certain way with words & you know you're in for a fun read. This is the fourth in the 'Why Mummy' series & I think I speak for many in hoping that this won't be the last we hear from Ellen & the rest of the Green family.

Hilarious, honest & real, this book will have you crying with laughter. I thoroughly enjoyed this book & was sad to see it end.

Many thanks to @randomthingstours for my spot on the tour & @harpercollinsuk
for my gifted copy of the book & treats 🍹🧊

I also have to give Netgalley a sneaky thankyou, as they also sent me an ARC copy 🤦‍♀️

Having read the first three of Gills books, I just had to read this one. I thought this would not be able to top either of the three. I was eleventy billion percent wrong.

I couldn’t get enough. I’m rather distressed because I’m going to miss the characters and I am hoping there will be another one.
