I really, really beautiful story, with a hero that can’t possibly exist in real life, but gosh, he’s nice to read about. The heroine is on the spectrum, and while I have young students with autism, I’m not close to an adult with it, so it was really interesting and almost educational for me to read about. Since “you don’t know what you don’t know,” I was bubble living without realizing it. It’s awesome the author packed all this awareness into the book, while still making the romance the most important thing.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Loved, loved, loved this slow-burn romance. Chloe Liese's novels are wonderful, and they are so emotionally deep without being emotionally draining and angsty. They are refreshing, enjoyable, entertaining and enlightening. As an own voices novel featuring a lead with Autism, it is an honor to read such a well-written novel that can only be told so well by someone with experience.

Always Only You is the next story in the Bergman family series, and it is really simply fantastic. Ren is a sensitive, devoted male lead, and he's been simply biding his time to woo Frankie since they work together, and workplace romances are not allowed. Ren has always been intrigued by and drawn to Frankie, and he developed a true affection for her based on what she is day-to-day. He knows her, but he doesn't know about her diagnosis because Frankie keeps it under wraps. She really believes she can't have true love in her life, and Ren is determined to be the man that helps her discover that she can.

This is a fantastic, slow-burn, emotional, but not emotionally draining, read.. Sharp, smart, sassy, sweet and simply amazing.

Disclaimer: This may turn in to a very long love letter to this book/series/author. I finished reading it two days ago and immediately wanted to start reading again and experience the joy it had given me.

I was introduced to this author with the first book of this series earlier this year, and that book ranks amongst some of my favourite from this year. Always Only You is its platinum band, diamond encrusted shank wrapped in a tiffany box inside of the Stanley Cup/Jules Rimmet big brother.

I think the author was very brave to tackle an own voices story, any author who puts themselves on the page does it, but there was something about Frankie that resonated deeply with me. I haven't had a diagnosis, but as I've grown into adulthood I have seriously questioned parts of my personality and happiness with myself. Seeing Frankie bloom (her conversation with Ziggy was especially delightful) made me a bit more hopeful for my own future..

Now, Soren. If you could write a more gorgeous specimen I may never recover (and given how much I love this author's writing and this series, something tells me one or two of these Bergmans are going to make me eat my words). Patience, dedication, honesty, passion, loyalty. Utterly lovely.

The wider cast of these stories are just as important as whoever is the star on show - as is shown by Annie and Lo, Willa and the rest of the Bergman family. The kitchen scene had me howling with laughter. I am SO excited to see what they are going to get up to with Aiden.

If you've made it this far - I idd warn you. Let me just say I think this is my favourite book of 2020 so far and I will be waiting on ice skates and soccer cleats for the next novel to arrive. It is sweet, delightful, enlightening, enriching and beautifully raw. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and especially the author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I hadn’t read a book by Chloe Líese before, but I was intrigued by the synopsis and was thrilled to get an ARC of Always Only You, I adored the story of Frankie, the grouchy social media expert, and Ren, the cinnamon roll hockey player, The description of Frankie as an autistic woman felt authentic to me, likely because the author is also on the spectrum. I appreciated that Ren wasn’t the stereotypical womanizing jock that I often see in romance novels. Both characters see and love the other for who they really are and their relationship feels realistic. This definitely won’t be the last book by Chloe Líese that I read.

This book is just wonderful. Like really - just wonderful, and lovely, and did I say wonderful? For me - it ticks all the boxes. Emotional, funny, sweet, sexy - it even touches into my very favorite genre of sports romance.

Frankie is the social media manager for the LA Kings Hockey Team. She is also on the autism spectrum, has rheumatoid arthritis, is incredibly smart, a lot bit grumpy, and has a killer sense of humor (and a great love for Harry Potter). No single one item on that list defines her though - she is a strong individual and is written beautifully to show that autism is rarely what you think it is.

Ren is the only non-soccer playing member of the very large Bergstrom family. He is also a professional hockey player and serious Shakespeare fan. He is pretty much the opposite of what you might think a toxically masculine professional sports player would be. He is also a virgin and completely in love with Frankie. He has promised himself that he won't tell Frankie about his feelings for her or push her to start dating until their relationship wouldn't interfere with her career.

He's really a special person - he cares so much for others and for his own family. Really downplaying his own success and even his own needs. Watching Frankie and Ren come together and find each other is really joyful and just wonderful.

Overall - this is a must read (so is the first book in the series if you haven't already read that one).

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Another great story in the series and this one put the dot on the I for me to become a real fan of the author.
I loved the writing, the way the characters love story evolves is perfectly made and the research on the autistic spectrum behaviour is very on point.
Ren is my favourite sweet worth swoony hero now, he's so caring and goes for miles to make sure that Frankie has the best experience in everything and their chemistry and friendship is definitely relationships goals.
Give it a try and you won't regret it

Always Only You is an extremely cute opposites-attract romance with really excellent representation. Francesca "Frankie" Zeferino is a young woman living in Los Angeles who works as a social media manager for the city's pro hockey team and she is NOT to be messed with! Søren "Ren" Bergman -- one of the infamous Bergman Brothers -- is a dashing 6'3'' hunk of a hockey player who happens to be the sunshine to Frankie's thundercloud. After Ren shows his dark side when protecting Frankie from a fellow teammate who drunkenly harasses her, Frankie realizes she is DEFINITELY attracted to this mountain of man even though his default setting a megawatt smile when her resting face is a frown. Through a series of mishaps and run-ins, Ren and Frankie slowly realize that they have feelings for each other and embark on a truly sweet romance.

I wish there was a tad more to the plot -- once Ren and Frankie decide to be together not much happens (except for a lot of steamy scenes, which I'm not complaining). I love the representation of neurodiversity and chronic illness in this novel -- its extremely genuine and executed with care. If you're looking for a charming quick romance, you'll like this book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the author for providing an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Chloe Liese is fantastic.

Any author taking the time to write about neurodivergence in the romance genre has my attention.

Chloe Liese does it in such a compelling way and for someone who champions #OwnVoices she does a fantastic job at helping people like me on the outside looking in better understand Autism. Hell she gave me such a clearer picture on Rheumatoid Arthritis after reading Always Only You, I felt like a dolt for being so oblivious beyond the occasional run in with it via pharmaceutical commercials.

Story wise do I love the Bergman brothers? Of course I do.

I am desperately waiting for a Bergman of my own? Yes. Duh! Alas they are fictional.

Ren is perfect. A nerd thru and thru with his own damage, and awkward hang-ups he was a perfect compliment to Frankie.

Who doesn't love a man who can quote Shakespeare without coming across like a pompous jerk?

Frankie’s fierce independence is so welcome in a romantic protagonist; she’s pretty has a cool job, cute dog, and fun friends. Reading about a woman who is neurodivergent, kicking ass, and is cool as hell is RARE. We need to see more characters like her. Her struggle to fit in, constantly wearing a mask so that she can interpret other people’s social cues sounded exhausting and more people should be aware of how those living with neurodiversity perceive the world around us.

“Autism is a lifelong reality that you’ll never quite catch the cues, follow the timing, see the world like a lot of people do. And sometimes that has isolating, frustrating, depressing, reverberations”

AND why the heck do I feel like we consider those with so called “disabilities” and/or various neurodiversity sexless? Is that just me? Why do I feel like only just now is popular culture making more of an effort to recognize that one-dimensional portrayal is nonsense!?! Again why I appreciate Chloe Liese’s work so much.

Not to mention Liese is a Harry Potter fan and I always enjoy her Potter pepperings! Hats off to her for mention JK's recent horrific TERF rants. I always appreciate an HP fan that can enjoy the work and shout out how problematic the author is.

Every time I dip in to the world of the Bergman's and their significant others I want sit and stay awhile, and am so sad when it’s over.

I think its time Chloe Liese goes on my auto buy list.

Also this is completely fine to read as a stand-alone, but I would hate for readers to miss out on Willa and Ryder’s story so I highly recommend reading Only When Its Us first!

I fell in love with the Bergmans through Ryder in book one, but Ren now has my heart. Forever. Amen. This book is quite possibly my very favorite romance. The dialogue is witty and authentic. These characters feel like real people with real struggles. I am always always here for a story where differently abled people are highlighted with dignity and respect. There a decent level of steam, but I loved the slow burn that kept me from putting the book down. Highly recommend!

Romance novels in which the leads start out totally gone on each other, for no discernible reason or before they really know one another, are just not my bag. I want to see the evolution of the attraction/relationship. So ALWAYS ONLY YOU wasn't for me in that regard. That said, I am a huge hockey fan, so found the setting fun, and I really appreciated the representation of a character on the autism spectrum. The ways Liese depicted this showing up in her relationships and interactions with others are a welcome addition to the representation of neurodivergence in the romance genre and in fiction more generally.

If you are looking for more steamy summer romances, look no further than the Bergman brother series from Chloe Liese

These books are 🔥🔥🔥 steamy, sensual and sexy and the characters are so likeable! I just finished book 2 in the series, Always Only You, which introduces Ren and Frankie. Ren is a big, burly Swedish hockey player in a family of big, burly, Swedish soccer players. Frankie is the social media coordinator for his team. Their mutual attraction builds as they dance around romance mixed with business. Frankie has some health challenges that have taught her people either leave you or coddle you. Ren teaches her that there is a difference between coddling and care based out of love. Also, Ren has a thing for Shakespeare and belts out the most adorable Shakespearean curses 😍

Always Only You releases on August 4th. So while you wait, pick up book 1, Only When It's Us, where we meet Ryder and Willa ❤️

I'm looking forward to the next Bergman family adventures!

“You have,” he says. “You still do. You always will. I’ve just joined in, too. Now we take care of each other”

Chloe Liese has done it again. She’s crafted characters who are real and created a beautiful story.

Frankie is a social media specialist for a professional hockey team and has always been a little grumpy. But who can blame her when she’s suffering from rheumatoid arthritis? She’s always secretly had her eyes on the big, sweet, red headed Ren, another Bergman brother. Who wouldn’t? He’s caring, always smiling, avoids fights, does charity work, and is always willing to help Frankie with any PR.

Guys, I loved this book. It had the big Swedish Ren who was there to always support Frankie. It had Frankie who was a lovable grump. It had steam 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 It had cameos from Ryder and Willa (if you haven’t read their story- Only When it’s Us- do yourself a favor and do so!) It was also a realistic story which I loved. You get insight in to someone who is on the autism spectrum. I loved Frankie and Ziggys interactions, and hope to see their friendship even more in the next story.

If you’re looking for an adorable, well written, realistic, beautiful story with fun characters, I highly recommend checking out Always Only You when it comes out on August 4.

Somehow, this book was even better than the first one...I have no idea how, since the first one rocked my world and is currently my favorite book.

Frankie is unique and wonderfully well-written. It's nice to have an insight into the autistic mind, even if it is a work of fiction. I have also never been a huge fan of hockey, but Ren makes me want to go watch a hockey game! Liese mixes emotions wonderfully and has a way of making me want to read it all in one sitting! I feel like the Bergman family has become my family and I look forward to reading more in this series!

3 stars
I love sports romance, this one was centered around hockey.
This is book2 and I think I missed a little something by not reading book one. I felt like I was missing something... I could not get into it they way I wanted to.

I can’t believe it’s been just three weeks since I read the first Bergman Brothers book, because even though I keep looking back on that whole reading experience wistfully (I’d never read a book that had a song for each chapter before!), the anticipation for this one has been high. When I got the chance to read it, I was lucky enough to be able to carve out my whole day to sit and read with the Spotify playlist in the background.

It was just perfect. I can’t speak to the representation personally, but I’m so glad to see romances featuring characters with disabilities and neurodiversity. (Ryder in Book 1 had hearing loss and had hearing aids and later cochlear implants, and Frankie in Book 2 has rheumatoid arthritis and walks with a cane and she is autistic.) Soren and Frankie’s story was so sweet and vulnerable. There were so many beautiful and healing moments. I know it’s a cliche to say “I laughed and I cried,” but I really did. I’m so thankful I found this gem of a series and an author who writes nuanced and beautifully imperfect characters that are often underrepresented in fiction.

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was very sweet and felt more real than many books I've read lately. I appreciated the insight into the character's thought processes regarding autism. An added bonus is the hockey storyline! I played, myself, in high school and my three boys are hockey players now. I look forward to seeing the next book and reading Freya and Aidan's story!

Thank you to the author and netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC. All opinions are my own.

I binged Always Only You last night and stayed up til 1am to finish it so does that tell you how great this book is? I'm not even sure I can do this book justice with my review. It's a slow burn/sports/close proximity romance filled with adorkableness (yes it's a word now) and laugh out loud moments. Ren is a "6 foot 3 cinnamon roll", quotes Shakespeare and may be one of the most gentle and devoted heroes out there. Frankie is witty and equally dorky. She has autism and rheumatoid arthritis but she doesn't let them stop her from living and (with some help) loving. I really enjoyed following their romance. Of course, one of my favorite things about this series is the entire Bergman family. Seeing the brothers together crack me up and I wish I could be invited to their family gatherings!

One of my favorite things about Chloe is that she doesn't shy away from addressing controversial topics (if you follow her on IG, you will know) and she always does it so eloquently. While reading this book, it's clear that she's a huge Harry Potter fan but she also manages to express her thoughts on JK Rowling in a single quote and really nailed it in my opinion.

I also really appreciate and applaud Chloe for opening herself up and writing an #ownvoices story. I don't know anyone with autism but I learned a lot through Frankie's story so thank you Chloe!

"Books welcome me - weirdness and all - and take me exactly as I am."

After enjoying the first book in the series, I have looking forward to reading more about the Bergman family. Frankie and Ren do not disappoint. This is sweet, hilarious, and touching novel that I devoured in one sitting (and then was a little sad that it was over so soon). A must read!

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Chloe has a new book in the #bergmanbrothers series and I've been anxiously awaiting Ren Bergman's story! Ren is a big, bearded, ginger hockey player and I'm flipping in love with him. But also the heroine Frankie is autistic, so you can see why I would be so excited for Always Only You. Let me tell you, this book is EVERYTHING. I was highlighting and sending Chloe my favorite quotes, and snort laughing literally from the first page. One of the things I loved is that this book isn't about Frankie having autism, It's about Frankie and Ren falling in love, and autism is just a part of what makes her who she is. There is so much hope and joy and love in this book and it shows you that people with autism have the best sense of humor.

"It’s a stereotype of autistics, that we’re these cold, emotionless shells, which isn’t true. We just feel differently. And often the case is that we actually feel so much, we have to compartmentalize it, funnel it into coping mechanisms that make it manageable.”
